It's crazy how joyo makes these things so cheap and they sound absolutely wicked. Most of my rig is actually joyo. Ive been using the argos ( precision drive ) and the rigel ( ksr ceres ) together with great success. Gotta love em.
I'm a big fan of joyo. Their tube screamer is awesome. Sounds better than my ts9. I'm going to be picking up a zombie II soon as well as a 10 band eq to run in the fx loop.
I have the dark flame and the chopper z. there's alot of overlap in all their distortion pedals but each can do something kind of unique. I also have the zombie and jackman amps joyo makes really good stuff.
I bought a cpl of Joyo pedals a year or so ago just to test them out and was pleasantly surprised by them. For the price, I'm not sure you can beat it.
Wait til the tariffs kick in :). Just elevate an iPad with a cheap stand, use a $50 BT controller and use all the free stuff available and it’s better. Best Regards and Best Wishes!
The pedal didn’t impress me at all tbh. I have joyo compression pedal, which is great, so cheap pedals can be very good. But this pedal has some weird over the the top distortion sound. Maybe it was because you ran it through an already distorted amp.
Not the best representation of the pedal. You lost me when you played it through an already overdriven sound. It's a distortion pedal, not an overdrive designed to boost. It's designed to BE the distortion.
Why don't you show it against the pedals that it 'smokes'? Not gonna argue that cheap pedals can be great but this sounds like turd in this demo. Not a single moment where I thought "damn, wish my guitar sounded like that".
I'm not sure if it's what we're hearing through the algorithm but rhythmically I'd agree the tone is either nasal or mid-y ?? It's not until the solo section it started to breath a bit. $40 can't argue its a steal as a starting platform to the "real" toys. Enjoyable though!!
@@nikaxeguitar I discovered your channel almost 2 years ago due to "Floyd Rose Nerdy stuff" to complete knowledge on that topic !! Nice content and cool attitude !! Cheers from France !!
My motto is “never send a pedal to do an amps job” Friedman makes tube pedals now. So technically I use a distortion “pedal” for the amps job, but is not cheap. Now my motto is never send a pedal to do an amps job, unless its a tube preamp pedal
@Ottophil actually a tube preamp or a transistor pedal both overload the front end. It's never going to be the same as power tube compression which only happens if you have a high voltage output transformer. That's why Eddie sounded phenomenal in the Roth years. Pregain is trying to emulate power tube compression. The best is a mixture. I always liked the VHT 50 cl. Great cascading pre amp gain but you can also drive the power section. Like if you run a marshall dsl amp on the clean channel but turn it all the way up. Nice power tube gain. THD had some cool amps too. Tons of great amps nowadays
@ which one? I have multiple power amps. But i don’t want compression, or anything going on in the power section towards my tone I want sterile. I want preamp distortion replicated cleanly
🎸🔥🤘

Ya heard alot of good things about that argos pedal gonna pick it up sometime myself.
I think that's what I paid for my Tube Screamer in the late '70s.
so considering inflation, you've paid about 217$ in 2024 dollars
@@alexanderwald2046 I had to mow a lot of lawns for that stop box. But it has lasted 45 years of constant use.
Probably thats what you paid for your house back in the day

$37 Joyo 7 band eq pedal is amazing.
Nice... I own the R-15 Pre-Amp House. Its alot of fun through a tube power section.
I use that pedal as a boost like a tube screamer and it’s awesome
Heck yeah!!!
The Uzi is my main distortion sound. But I can’t crank the gain past 9:00 or else it gets too distorted. Great review.

I dont know that this pedal even matters with the shred ability you have. That shits gonna sound great no matter what. Fantastic playing man!
Appreciate that my friend!

It's $50, not $39. It was only $39 for one day.
Dude can shred...!
NICE PEDAL.
MY FIRST PEDAL WAS AMERICAN SCREAMER WHEN THEY CAME OUT AND SAME PRICE
Great review. Joyo makes great stuff.
Try the Tauren. its a great boost pedal.

The guitar is a HB Fusion T, right? Another excellent example of high value for low price!
It rips man!!

Hot Rocking!
Is that a Harley Benton guitar?
yup
It absolutely is and it’s phenomenal
Just paid 50 bucks. Still a good deal if it sounds as good as the video.
Is bias essentially a presence knob?
Price went up by $9 after this video.
Would you be interested in testing our guitar pedal

Creativity has no limits
Who turned your lights off, dude.
What?
it sounds good because it's a clone of Friedman Be Od. There is also a clone of clone - Irin Uzi, two times cheaper
Hot Rockin! Love the priest!
Even at 12 o clock position, it still has that much gain but it's just me though.
They are ripping us off. Im done with it, gone digital and so happy i did
Sounds really muffled to me. Certainly doesn't sound anything like an actual amp.
Its 50 dollars now, fyi.
LOL, as usual, youtube video talks up a product, then the price goes up.

I don't think so.
Too compressed
High end are desperate
Bought it for $20 brand new. it needs EQ to make it sweeter sound.
Very nice. Love that
Using an EQ is THE trick I discovered after 30 years of playing guitar. I'm done with the knobs of my amps :)
What .....???!!! ....... Tom Hardy makes gear demos on a youtube guitar channel now ..???!!! ahah !!
Nice!!! Tom Hardy is a new one. I’ll take it!
