Busy BUS STOP was NEGLECTED after Restaurant SHUTS DOWN!

- I am so excited to bring you another amazing transformation! There is a city code that requires the restaurant that is right here to maintain the bus stop, and unfortunately, they went out of business! Because of this the bus stop has gotten extremely overgrown and even covers access to the fire hydrant. You know we can't have that here, so with your support we will go ahead and get this cleaned up!

You are doing really well on your observation. A good location, with many passers by. Also, the recognition that there is a hole in the regulation idea, if there is no business, no one is caring for the street area. That was fun that you could reply to the person at the bus stop, that the nearby area was clean, because you'd cleaned it. Appreciate your time on projects. Keep your Day Off if you can, so you don't burn-out. As is, you might have to deal with laundry, groceries, etc. let alone time to think, rest and be at peace. Grass Burrs were an interesting "danger" to have to consider handling. They would not be good for pedestrians, or if they continue to spread. Great progress.

If it makes you feel any better it’s not the same as it was in the 90’s. Some company in Chicago bought them out and it’s not as good as it used to be

Usually there’s a property management company that employs common area maintenance companies (ie landscaping) but if there’s no money coming in, they may have been terminated. You did a really great job on this to make it safer at the bus stop and the hydrant accessible. I’m going to suggest that you get a supportive pair of shoes - my son recently rolled his ankle as he’s on his feet all day and I don’t want that to happen to you. That’s my mom talk for this post LOL 😂. You are doing so well 😊

Are those burrs as nasty as poison ivy? I ran into some while cutting my sister's lawn--that's it until the yard gets sprayed next spring :-) ! Anyhow, great job as usual (both of us) !

They don’t cause a reaction like poison ivy, but they do hurt when they stick into your skin. They are extremely hard to get rid of once in the yard though because they follow the same dormancy cycle as most desirable grasses

I noticed you have used the DeWalt battery chainsaw several times. Any problems? Some of the reviews I have seen said something about leaks.
It does leak out of the reservoir for the chain oil, but the instructions say to drain out the reservoir every time you finish so no problems here.. at least not yet

Why would a restaurant bee responsible for a bus stop - surely that’s a city issue??
Unfortunately there is a city code that makes the property owner responsible for maintaining 6 feet past the property line, and that restaurant owned everything up to the sidewalk. Since the restaurant is out of business I don’t know who owns the land

There were several towards the end, but I cut a lot of things out where I take breaks etc. The sign shows that this is a bus stop
