    I’m looking seriously at one of these little Kubota machines

    You should grind going from left to right and then sweep back left and then drop down and do another cut. The teeth are angled to work together cutting while going that way.
    That’s why you kept loading it down more while trying to cut going from the right to the left.

    Looks like that stump grinder was working really well. Too bad that machine and the grinder is more expensive than my BX2680 LOL. Wish my local rental yard had something like that compact track loader and a stump grinder like that...looks like a very stable machine, I've seen the stump grinders on a 3 point hitch on a tractor and the thing is bouncing all over the place....that compact track loader I think is a much better machine for a stump grinder than a tractor...and you can get that compact track loader into a lot of tight spaces where a tractor can't get into.

    There are 2 sets of cutters on the wheel you can take a 1 inch to maybe 2 inch thick cut per pass

    How would productivity compare to running a comparable unit off the back of a 25hp tractor?

    Also they are designed and built in north america.

    How much is the stump
    Grinder and the compact track loader?

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c Год назад +2

      Probably in the neighborhood of $40-50k. Course depends on what other options you get with the compact track loader as far as buckets, grapples, etc. If you buy one of those machines you certainly are going to want some attachments for it...and not sure if Kubota offers one, but there's a trencher attachment that goes on those compact track loaders too....plus post augers, and all sorts of stuff...cool thing with these machines, they're small, so they will fit in places a tractor or regular skid steer can't get into.

    I have a question Neil? Does any body have a stump grinder that fits on category 1 tractor like 3 point hitch and runs off 540 PTO. ???

      Many, yes. Baumalight has a nice one.

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c Год назад

      Yes, but those things give you a very jarring experience, they bounce all over the place.

      @jimmcknight3021 Год назад +1

      @wildbill23c Actually, it depends on the tractor. On the 7-30-2023 RUclips of Tractor Time with Tim, he had the tge entry level Baumalight on his 3R, and it didn't jar the tractor around like on his subcompact. I imagine the result would be the same in the Grand L series or the larger L series in Kubota.

      @@jimmcknight3021 the hiccup with any of these on the 3pt is that the rear hitch does not have downforce, so the grinder can always bounce.

    Hey Neil. I had an interesting/odd conversation with one of your salesman today over a zero turn. He told me to get in touch with you? I don’t really want to discuss the conversation over a public forum. I am unable to find your email - am I just missing it? Matt
