Hi, enjoyed the video, thanks. Next time you try tenkara use a level line the length of your rod with about 50cm of tippet. Stop your rod high on the forward cast so just your fly lands on the water..
Happy you enjoyed the video. Thanks for the advice. I think my main problem could have been the tippet. I just went for something, don't remember now, but probably way too long. Will pick up tenkara when it becomes a bit warmer again. Then i will try to read up some on what fly to use and so on.
Hehe yes maybe not the best decisions but i wanted to check this river out and had just gotten the rod and wanted to test it out. Will try to have better preconditions in the future. But in general i do like to fish in small rivers over big ones so i think this one may have potential.
@@ScandinavianWilderness I understand; was joking. I too like the small streams. Question: have you already fished the Fjätälven? I did and had very good results for Harr on the dry fly. Just starting up or down the bridge between Sarna and Sveg.
No worries, i like your comments! I will actually go there in May. The plan is to spend some nights in a cabin in the area called Vedungsfjällen. Unfortunately the fishing is not so good where we plan to stay but we will cross Fjätälven on our way to the cabin. So it depends on time and our priorities if we do some fishing too. Do you think the fishing is good around 20th May?
@@ScandinavianWilderness That depends of the temperatures in spring. Mostly this is too early is my experience. Sarna lies quite high in the mountains. But who am I to tell you? (a dutch flyfisherman with some experience in the swedish mountains 🙄)
I'll bring the rod and see what happens. I have been hiking in Fulufjället (close to Särna) in May and then it was still winter and snowshoes was needed. But i do think that Vedungsfjällen get a bit less snow. So i'll hope for a warm spring then.
