Awesome job you guys!!! My dad wrote and did the photography for the big book on the NFCT and was always sensitive to how his name was associated with a very challenging and difficult part of the trail…the Clyde River. His name was Clyde too and he was a master canoeist. He lived long enough to make the book and see it published…..this trail was his passion. Thank you for making this video and sharing it with the world…my dad would have loved it!
Wow what a great adventure, glad you had company on your trip, thanks for sharing. I have a NorthStar NorthWind 16 and a Pheonix, they make good canoes.
It took a beating for sure. Ended up adding skid plates when I got home to the bow and stern. Put a hole in the stern after ascending Spencer Stream in Maine. If I could do it all over again I would have gotten the innegra layup versus kevlar.
I want to do the trail myself but don't know if it will ever happen. I'm thinking you brought a lot of stuff along, maybe more than you needed. I'd like to see a post trip gear shakedown. Looking forward to part three.
There's more than one way to enjoy the trail. I took the purist route, there are also sectional paddlers or people who forgo the long portages and take advantage of shuttles. It's all good. I'd like to go back and run those long upriver sections in VT and NH the proper way.😄 I definitely brought along too much stuff. I sent home about 10 lbs of gear when I got to Newport, VT . A post trip gear shakedown might be in the cards in the Fall. Part 3 just went up today.
I thought it worked well in the Dacks on woods trails. Once on pavement it was just a drag. Here's what I went with from the Connecticut River onward. Ans I must tell you I didn't treat it lightly. www.seattlesportsco.com/new-atc.html

Watched your first two videos posted so far. What a trip! Admittedly I'm a bit jealous and living vicariously through...😉 Keep on paddling my friend!
Hey Bob, great hearing from you. Hopefully we can hook up again sometime in the future.
This was amazing! Looking forward to the next video.
More to come!

Great video. I have the same wheels. They suck. Looking forward to see your upgrade!

@@johnniecanoe1 Thanks, that is one I have on a wish list.
Background music drowns out your dialogue.
Yes, I realize that.
