    Potter failed at Chelsea because he had a bout fifty midfield players about forty defenders and they all expected to play I think he will do a good job

      Potter started the exceptional Brighton team, he stepped in for Chris Houghton who was looking to just keep Brighton in the premier league, Potter transformed the club & deserve he walked into that potter team

      At least he would communicate clearly.
      Does JL have a full time interpreter because he can barely talk English if he hasn’t why not how do players get his instructions.

      Potters teams don't score goals . Our best players are our attackers we need a manager that will bring the best out of kudus Bowen Summerville and pacqueta.

    The results aren't the issue for me. I didn't expect to beat sides like Villa, Chelski, or Spurs, especially with a squad that's getting used to the league and such after a big rebuild.
    The problem for me is that Lopetegui hasn't even started to get this squad together. He doesn't know his best starting 11 or formation or tactics. We haven't moved forward since preseason, and it doesn't look like we will any time soon.
    Lopetegui was meant to have been studying us, he's supposed to be a linguistic genius, but nobody can understand him, and nobody knows what they are supposed to be doing.

      Sometimes it's the manner of the defeat rather than the result itself. You can accept a defeat against a top six side if it's a narrow loss and we are at least competitive. But we are losing by 3 goals per game against sides in the top half, which is beyond the pale, especially given what we spent.

    • @hammer159159
      @hammer159159 9 дней назад

      for me, those 3 teams you mention i would want at least a draw. villa we were a bit unlucky in. but the other 2 we got battered. i certainly never expected or hoped for that. He has no idea what his best formation is, team, tactic he seems to be lost.

      The recruitment decisions as well. Why on earth did we get Fullkrug, Soler, Rodriguez????? Dont know to what extent these were Lop or Tim signings but they were absolutely baffling to me. We were the oldest and slowest squad in the league, and the solution was this.....?????

  • @paulmulks
    @paulmulks 10 дней назад +10

    Why can't we just get this bloody right!! West Ham always seem to have an issue. It never feels like a stable club! I just want some decent seasons, good wins, and maybe a good cup run (and win) 😂 Don't bother commenting saying we had all that under Moyes because we never! Yes I'm thankful for the European win, but our league form was rancid for far too long and was very depressing at times. I feel this will only ever happen once Sullivan & Co are gone ⚒️

      Agree - until the ownership changes, nothing will improve. They have had 15 years and still can't get the basics right. No real recruitment strategy, no long term vision. Maybe the recruitment is a bit better under Steiden, but we still haven't addressed the striker issue after all these years, amongst other issues.

      Watching the overlap this morning as well. Apparently Sullivan dangled a contract in front of Moyes in Dec then snatched it away 3 games later!!!! If thats true...what the hell sort of way is that to run a club??? Its reactionary rubbish, there is clearly no long term plan for the clubs direction.

  • @PawlSLax
    @PawlSLax 9 дней назад +2

    Does Nobes even have his coaching badges to take over on an interim basis?
    If not, bring back Nolan to be interim head coach and as many of the backroom staff we had working with him under Moyes as possible, particularly the ones that Moyes himself alienated and left the club. Maybe without the stubborn attitude at the top there'll be some harmony not only in the dressing room, but among the staff and it can lead to some stability on the pitch.

  • @TonyHammer61

    Jim White on TalkSport this morning more or less saying that even if we lose 0-5 to Everton this weekend Lopetegui will still be head coach on Monday morning. How depressing

    Unfortunately, the owners could use the extension of Kudus' suspension as an excuse to 'give him another 2 or 3 games.' I feel that procrastinating will only delay the inevitable, but it's what I feel will happen with the current board. They do not seem capable of decisive action regarding managers, going all the way back to Avram Grant. Which is part of why we have not progressed under the current owners. Also, I agree that we need to address our inability to stop conceding - we need a manager who can sort that out.

    Here’s a thought and it’s just a thought… maybe the players we have we can only be a counter attacking team?? Pace less in mf with pace up top with a half decent back line if coached right… now I’m not saying that’s what I want at all but hear me out, a team doesn’t have to play low block to counter, Liverpool won the league being utterly deadly on the counter and never went near a low block, Jlos tactics are so out there we could have the best players in the world and it wouldn’t work, maybe it’s time to play a way we know we can..just without the low block

    • @TheWestHamWay
      @TheWestHamWay  9 дней назад

      Tbh the low block counter system for us was fine when it worked & we had the players to do it.
      The 2020/21 season was a prime example as that was a stunning season for us ⚒

    Two that come to mind are probably just out of reach - Frank and Silva. Even if the board were willing to pay the compensation costs, would the current owners be able to persuade them? Sadly, I don't think so.

    Mark can you explain the Director of Football roll. If we are trying to be like Brighton, new manager same style of football etc, then Tim must be telling JL to play the way we are. Then they say we are looking at more defensive coach's than that's a different style again. This club is a mess. The circus is back in town.

    • @TheWestHamWay

    Why be shocked if Everton rock up and beat us?. There's hardly anything between most teams in the league so it's a flip of a coin most weeks as to who wins in most fixtures. This is one of them.

    2 week international break then Newcastle away and then Arsenal at home.

    Hypotheticals are the best. Imagine IF we did win against Spurs, Chelsea & maybe Forest maybe opinions would be different. Nah for me Jlo has done very bad. I agree on the pre season matches. For me I wanna win all games we looked worst than Dagenham at times. I’m row Z but allowed to stand I can’t be bothered to stand watching this.
    Even under Moyes was poor but not this poor. The high line does not do justice for the way we wanna play & also the amount of space we leave wide open is ridiculous. AWB doesn’t track back enough, he’s brilliant going forward & 1-1’s but I think Coufal would do better defensively. We need pace and that’s something we lack in so many areas. Antonio is one of my favourite players however he can’t play the full 90 minutes. Bowen is not a striker. It breaks my heart because I Effing love Bowen but him being a Captain may kill his credibility. He’s a lovely person & when we go to war we need 11 Warriors & our leader needs to be top dog. Kudus needs to play on the right or as a CAM. Paquetá under Moyes on the LM is better than under Jlo as a CAM.
    Emerson gotta be honest we need to replace him this summer. He’s 30, no pace & looks loss without Lucas on the left. Kudus, getting an extra two game ban, doesn’t help either. Wasted 30 million on a big German to get paid going to the club doctors & his GP. I wanna see Guilherme (sorry if that’s a not how to spell his name). Summerville needs to claim the left. Edson is a great player however his ability to not get red cards is not within him.
    Rodders imo is slower than Jack Wilshere. I’m genuinely happy that we got the international break coming up think I need it.
