"First up, there's a goodwill... And there's a lady staring at a wall." Only you could take that sentence and turn it into something so hillarious on delivery. Love your videos, LGR. Keep 'em up.
Just binge watched them all! No regrets! Honestly there are so many low-end whole in the wall thrift shops in nyc that i never bothered to check out but now I'm REALLY tempted to
+AHfan I said a while ago there's not much adventuring for us up here in Canada. Probably because of our electronics recycling programs and such - but I do want to see what's out there, just for kicks! You rock, Lazy Game Reviews!
Hi Clint!, I've gotta say, Thrifts is one of the best youtube shows out there! The decision to include looks at non gaming stuff has even made the show even BETTER cause the pay off is so satisfying when you find things to buy! Thanks Clint, keep making these!
+ResurgamZerg It really is. ♥ With Clint's hearty "Greetings!", the relaxing music and the many wonderful things he finds and shows to us, I can most definitely say that I like this series a LOT. :)
+Joe Stalin As sad as just putting everyone down in a comment section for liking a video? You are here too guy. At least we are happy with our decision.
This may sound weird....but I've been going through some sad times lately, and hearing you get so excited about the CoCo really cheered me up! Hah. Keep up the great videos, Clint :)
Just started rewatching all the LGR Thrifts episodes because why not, and was shocked to realize that it took 23 episodes before the introduction of our beloved lucky rock!
+Cly Faker Depends where you are though :( as far as I know, in the US, if the dumpster is against the building that owns it, you can't search through it, sadly.
DarkVeilGaming I'm in the US, and that's never come up, even when talking with passing by cops. It mainly depends on whether it's in a locked enclosure or locked in general, since that could fall under trespassing laws. Of course, individual cities and states could have ordinances regarding diving, so always check those ahead of time. I just posted a video with some of my best dumpster finds, though that doesn't include the 32in. 1080p monitor I found the other day. That's in my next thrifting video. ;)
+Cly Faker I've always wanted to go dumpster diving at some places like GameStop and other videogame stores, but I've never been up to date on diving laws so I'm not really sure about the legality of it in Oklahoma.
DarkVeilGaming I find my best stuff in my apartment complex actually. The GameStops in my area are very diligent about destroying their waste. Also, looked into Oklahoma DD laws, and it looks like it's legal as long as you're not trespassing.
Ya, know, Clint. I'm thinking LGR Thrifts is due for a name change. How about "Nyah, nyah, my Goodwills rule and yours SUCK!" You can have that. Free of charge. But, seriously, you do make some amazing scores. That CoCo is a thing of beauty. I have an original TRS-80, the one where you're in violation of FCC rules by simply turning it on, and a CoCo 2. Never found a CoCo 3 in the wild like that, though.
I love your sense of humor, These thrift videos make me so happy. I actually ended up going to Goodwill earlier this week because I was inspired by you. I came out it three PS3 games (Batman 1, 2, LA Noire) for $3 thanks to you.
Every time I watch these videos I become very jealous on how good the Goodwill stores are in your area. I can't even find a decent record player in the ones by me, which really sucks because I've been really interested in getting into collecting vinyl.
I live in a town with two goodwills, two habitat for humanity, one Salvation Army, and various other hole in the wall thrift stores. Watching you get excited about finding things you collect for a good deal makes me think I’m not crazy for going to all of those thrift stores at least every other day! Happy thrifting!
Dude... I regularly go to Goodwills now since binge-watching the LGR Thrifts series and you are literally in Goodwill heaven. My Goodwills within a 30 minute radius of us are abysmal in selection.
HOLY COW! I totally have that GE space saver tape deck at 6:01 next to my oven in the kitchen, and i mean like that exact model too, the buttons and everything match except mine is used so they're worn, but still, i have it!
I had a talking whiz kid! Just hearing the intro jingle and insert card brought back so many memories. I had turned to get a drink and as soon as I heard it I whipped my head around lol.
I just wish I could give more than one like to this, maybe a million will be apropriate. Man, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE these videos! They are the best things out there on RUclips! Keep doing this :)
My goodness, I wish the thrift stores here in Australia even compared to these ones. I swear everyone here just holds on to their old stuff, unless it's a PS2 disc scratched by 27 cats.
Some finds in this one. Just seeing them there is half the excitement. can't believe that copy of myst 3 is still there for grabs. I can't find a single copy here in Ireland :)
The Goodwills out in here the NW so rarely have anything like the magnificent items in this EPIC video...The Magnavox at 0:47, Toshiba 2:01, Win 95 Upgrade 2:32, Mortal Kombat PC 3:03, Atari lot 8:21 and the Tandy at 10:01 for only 3.00??!!! WOW Man this like is a cannon shot a wad of AWESOME into a wall made of Holy Shit!!
I had a Talking Whiz-Kid as a child so everytime I see this episode I guess this overwhelming sense of nostalgia and movement of time. That start up ditty will be stuck in my head until I'm gone...
Oh damn those classic Avon car after shave bottles! I remember my grandfather collected those and along the shelf of his basement bathroom he had them lined all together. Memories...
OMG I THINK I PLAYED THAT EASY STREET GAME IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LIKE 14 YEARS AGO AND THOUGHT I WOULD NEVER FIND IT AGAIN. thank you LGR, you have solved a nagging curiosity I thought I would endure for the rest of my life! also in case anyone's wondering, the monkey on the cover is an obstacle/enemy because he tries to get into your wagon which prevents you from going into the stores to buy things (the main objective). you can take him home with you at the end though after you've already bought everything though lol
Avalon Hill man, you just hit me right in the nostalgia-nards. I remember my dad bringing me up throughout the 90's with games of Advance Squad Leader on the kitchen table or playing Steel Panthers on the old Windows 95 machine that was so far in the past, and I was so young, that I had no clue what it was packing as far as hardware was concerned.
+Valve News Network I've thrifted a few games in that line (including the ones shown), and I can see where he's coming from. They're much deeper than what people think of when it comes to board games, and sometimes Avalon Hill's rules can be a little muddy.
The WhizKid is a great find. I remember something like this from my childhood, not mine (but enjoyed at a friend's house when far too old), but it was the whole modular design of it with the cards and everything that enthralled me. The build quality is also great which is why they last the test of time.
Heh heh, that X-Keys SE... by P.I. Engineering, Inc, "The No Slogan Company". XD Good stuff. Clint, you sure have some great fans here on youtube. One of the very few channels where you can read page after page of comments and see almost 100% positive, kind, encouraging messages. I actually enjoy reading through them because everyone is so nice and considerate, and all clearly enjoy your work. A great break from the endless negativity pouring from most comment sections. I feel like it's a reflection of you, and it says a lot about who you are and what you do. Your good attitude and enthusiasm are contageous! Great job on the videos, thanks for all the hard work.
The local Goodwills here don't have any of that stuff! No Ataris or 8-track players. When I was young, y brother had a cassette/turntable/8-track deck/radio like the one you showed. I remember those Avon bottles, too. Did you notice the HD DVD player next to that VCR?
stezton I grew up in Columbus myself. I do miss going over to Lee county Alabama for the flea market though. I make it a point to hit it up whenever I'm down that way.
whoa, we got that record player. it had a problem with one of the speakers but with a little elbow grease it was one of the coolest pieces of furniture in the house.
One of the saddest things I ever sae (retrocomputingwise) was in the early 2000s: I was out with some friends one night, when I saw a skip with a bunch of old computers in it, including an original model breadbox C64. What kind of monster does that?! I was seriously tempted to grab it, but that would've been a bit awkward.
7:17, i love those glass bottles shaped like cars and trucks. I got a blue pierce arrow and black bugatti, both with plastic decorative pieces..............and a 3 dollar Tandy computer, I would love to find one of those.
my kids have that dreamlight thing... can be an "animal" when it's folded together or a "pillow" but the light bits shine stars and stuff up on the ceiling while they goto bed... or it did years ago when they still used them lol.
I am super envious of you for finding those Avalon Hill games! I love collecting them too! Although, regrettably I have the same issue that you do - no one to play across from.
I had that WhizKid in the late 80's out here in Australia with a half dozen of the cards. They were all math and spelling type games, but it made long car trips interesting 25 years before kids had iPads!
6:49 - (listening to this series in the background as i work .... not paying too much attention when i hear the starting sound of that whiz kid ..... NOSTALGIA BOMB ....) i had that growing up with the cards you had to put on the side and everything ..
Panzer Leader, man I had that when I was younger, never did play it (not surprisingly enough no one wanted to play it with me). Always enjoyed the box art of it though. Never knew what happened to it though.
This is such a dorky thing to like, but it's so well executed and impressive. Funny to see the Unisonic 740 pic at the end: I just bought a 739SQ a few weeks ago because the green vacuum-fluorescent display was too much to resist (and it works, too.)
05:45 made me get all nostalgic for the DJ Hero games... wonder if that turntable had the dongle with it, wouldn't have been a bad deal for $4 (though I guess you'd still have to find the games themselves).
GUAD LOAD Sounds like all of ours here in Kentucky. When I have the chance I go to southern Indiana and sometimes Tennessee because both have better stores and prices.
Lots of good memories of Panzer Leader (also from a Goodwill) - I had the right overlap of too much time on my hands and an weird interest in reading overly-complicated rule sets, along with a friend with the same mindset.
I had a coco2 16k extended back when they were brand new, when I was a kid. I would have died for that joystick back then, all we had access to were non-centering ones that were a pain to play with. excellent find though, now all you need is a couple books of programs to type in and save to cassette tape lol the cartridges for it were not bad, Radio Shack just didn't get too many third party supporters for them, so once I had a c64, the coco was retired, probably still in my parent's basement somewhere :P
It’s a good thing that you left that Partition Magic behind. My dad had installed that on our old Win98 machine, and it started to cause problems, but he didn’t move stuff out of the partitions before uninstalling it and, long story short, it’s a good thing my mom knew how to use DOS...
Y'know, over in the UK there was a computer called the Dragon 32/64 which was - weirdly - compatible with some Tandy Coco software! Also had a lovely keyboard - they really didn't skimp on keyboards back then.
I had one of those Whiz Kids when I was young and I turned it on in a airplane flying to Toronto and it literally started picking up the pilots radio calls. kinda whacky.
There are always so many cool pieces of vintage electronics in your thrift stores. I'm super jealous. I would've been all over that Sears Telegames... I can't find a decent priced 2600 to save my life
"and there is a lady staring at the wall" hahahahaha xD
"First up, there's a goodwill... And there's a lady staring at a wall." Only you could take that sentence and turn it into something so hillarious on delivery. Love your videos, LGR. Keep 'em up.
Just binge watched them all! No regrets! Honestly there are so many low-end whole in the wall thrift shops in nyc that i never bothered to check out but now I'm REALLY tempted to
Go check, I'm sure there's all sorts of forgotten goodies :)
+AHfan do it! make LGR style videos.
+AHfan I said a while ago there's not much adventuring for us up here in Canada. Probably because of our electronics recycling programs and such - but I do want to see what's out there, just for kicks! You rock, Lazy Game Reviews!
+AHfan I thrift in NYC! Last week found MGS1 for 6 bucks!
Hi Clint!, I've gotta say, Thrifts is one of the best youtube shows out there! The decision to include looks at non gaming stuff has even made the show even BETTER cause the pay off is so satisfying when you find things to buy! Thanks Clint, keep making these!
Thank you!
Was that a 6-pack Pioneer Cd-player you passed up?
***** voice is cool for sure! good work!
I love your enthusiasm about the stuff you find and even for some of what you pass up. You narrate your experiences very well.
I get all giddy when I see one of these uploaded!
+chickenbone445 and gettin' all dancin & jigglin listening dem intro, babyyy!
+chickenbone445 It's the most relaxing series on the internet.
+ResurgamZerg It really is. ♥
With Clint's hearty "Greetings!", the relaxing music and the many wonderful things he finds and shows to us, I can most definitely say that I like this series a LOT. :)
+Joe Stalin LOL what? These are just amazing to watch
***** He's obviously trolling~
Looks like you really lucked out this time! Do you suspect that finally stepping on that rock really improved your fortunes?
+tristikov Haha, yes! The Rock of Good Fortune!
@@LGR And it's a staple of the show ever since this episode.
got a Weekend off, Some bacon pizza and a new LGR Thrifts episode. Hell yeah!
Mmmmm bacon pizza
Wtf is bacon pizza?
+Tom Barton pizza with bacon on it
+Bioshockotaku Red Baron Pizza?
+Joe Stalin As sad as just putting everyone down in a comment section for liking a video? You are here too guy. At least we are happy with our decision.
My question LGR, do you drift into the parking lot when you go thrifting?
This may sound weird....but I've been going through some sad times lately, and hearing you get so excited about the CoCo really cheered me up! Hah. Keep up the great videos, Clint :)
Wishing you the best in the near future :)
+Lazy Game Reviews Thanks! That means a lot. Wishing the same to you.
I lost it when you stepped on that rock
Damn! Tandy CoCo's for $3?! I need to find Goodwill's like that around here in Oregon. I seem to strike out so much at the ones here.
Just started rewatching all the LGR Thrifts episodes because why not, and was shocked to realize that it took 23 episodes before the introduction of our beloved lucky rock!
I hope you know how much this series encourages my shopping addiction... thanks, haha.
+EposVox Do it! While you're at it, you should try dumpster diving. You'd be surprised with what you'd find.
+Cly Faker Depends where you are though :( as far as I know, in the US, if the dumpster is against the building that owns it, you can't search through it, sadly.
DarkVeilGaming

Less than half a minute in and you already made me LOL. "And there's a lady staring at the wall..." LMAO!!! Classic...
Ya, know, Clint. I'm thinking LGR Thrifts is due for a name change. How about "Nyah, nyah, my Goodwills rule and yours SUCK!"
You can have that. Free of charge.

Just posting this on my third bingetrip through LGR Thrifts. This is therapy for the soul.
I love your sense of humor, These thrift videos make me so happy. I actually ended up going to Goodwill earlier this week because I was inspired by you. I came out it three PS3 games (Batman 1, 2, LA Noire) for $3 thanks to you.
As a collector of things (not what you collect but it hardly matters) I got excited for your haul too because you were so excited. YEAH!
I'm surprised that this is so ridiculously entertaining. Currently bingeing the whole series. Hope you continue them.
Every time I watch these videos I become very jealous on how good the Goodwill stores are in your area. I can't even find a decent record player in the ones by me, which really sucks because I've been really interested in getting into collecting vinyl.
Whenever I see a LGR Thrifts on my RUclips front page I get super happy & excited!
I know next to nothing about computers but I love your videos, your love for old-school electronics is just contageous
Love this series. Relaxing.
I live in a town with two goodwills, two habitat for humanity, one Salvation Army, and various other hole in the wall thrift stores. Watching you get excited about finding things you collect for a good deal makes me think I’m not crazy for going to all of those thrift stores at least every other day! Happy thrifting!
Also, I love how genuinely excited you were about finding the Tandy. At the risk of sounding like your grandma, bless your heart
LGR Favourite youtuber! Not because it's most exciting or most interesting, but because it's so well narrated.
This channel is so great to binge watch. Thanks, LGR!
I actually saw a Roku in my Goodwill recently, no remote though, so it was useless...
I would have bought it to smash it
I really love watching your videos, you perfectly captured the excitement of thrifting with this.
Thank you!
I had a talking whiz kid! Just hearing the intro jingle and insert card brought back so many memories. I had turned to get a drink and as soon as I heard it I whipped my head around lol.
I always love getting an email with the words "LGR - Thrifts" in it! Thanks LGR.
I love these thrift videos. All of the old tech is really charming and cool. Your videos have inspired to go thrifting more often.
It's amazing how happy I am when you find a good hardware like this. Almost like I had found it. Love this Thrift videos, Clint!
Still loving this series !!! Nice finds.
Some finds in this one. Just seeing them there is half the excitement.
can't believe that copy of myst 3 is still there for grabs. I can't find a single copy here in Ireland :)
I laughed so hard when you stepped on the rock like it was your life goal haha

Baking soda, baking soda!
He got it for the low-low.

Man...why do I love these so much
That Talking Whiz Kid. MY HEART! This was my favorite toy growing up! I need to find another one of these.
4:38 Weird seeing another of those Jar-Jar Binks 3D puzzle things in the lower left corner. We had one in our closet for years and now it's just gone.
Why would people not want to play Avalon Hill with you?!
+Valve News Network Right? Playing Avalon Hill's Third Reich with Clint would be the dream weekend.
+Valve News Network I've thrifted a few games in that line (including the ones shown), and I can see where he's coming from. They're much deeper than what people think of when it comes to board games, and sometimes Avalon Hill's rules can be a little muddy.
+Valve News Network Oh hey VNN, fancy seeing you here.
The WhizKid is a great find. That toshiba top loading tape deck looks like the one that the rich neighbour has in his bedroom in National lampoons christmas vacation
0:56 OMG! my local goodwill here in Georgia has what looks like the same one !
+stezton Where in GA? When I lived down there the thrifts in my area were horrible.
Warner Robins and yes, they do suck.
stezton
I grew up in Columbus myself. I do miss going over to Lee county Alabama for the flea market though. I make it a point to hit it up whenever I'm down that way.
whoa, we got that record player. it had a problem with one of the speakers but with a little elbow grease it was one of the coolest pieces of furniture in the house.
That Spacemaker came when we ought our house, in the bar area of the basement! I still use it when I want to listen to the radio down there!
Love this series its hard to explain but it just makes me happy :)
Thanks for the cheer good sir!
That Tandy comp uter was definitely my favorite find this time around. I love this series.
I love your reasons for thrifting. They get me every time
5:37- "The No Slogan Company"
Best slogan ever.
my kids have that dreamlight thing... can be an "animal" when it's folded together or a "pillow" but the light bits shine stars and stuff up on the ceiling while they goto bed... or it did years ago when they still used them lol.
That lady's like "hmmm this is a nice wall."
You Scored on the Tandy Items , Great find . Sweetness :) QC
I am super envious of you for finding those Avalon Hill games! I love collecting them too! Although, regrettably I have the same issue that you do - no one to play across from.
6:55 I had one of those!! Oh god the memories. I remember those beeps distinctively!
your enthusiasm is infectious LGR!
OH MY GOSH!! Talking Whiz-Kid!! That's some nostalgia that crawled out of a weird, long-lost place in my childhood memory.
The intro got me good this time, lmao well done brother. Cheers!
"I'm in love with da CoCo"
these thrifting videos are awesome and some of my favorites videos online
I love your thrift episodes LGR. You made a thrift store shopper outta me from watching these vids.
I like how you go all Tim Allen on old audio equipment. I love that junk too.
That intro is literally perfect.
Panzer Leader, man I had that when I was younger, never did play it (not surprisingly enough no one wanted to play it with me). Always enjoyed the box art of it though. Never knew what happened to it though.
"... and there's a lady staring at the wall." I don't know why, but I completely cracked up at this. lol
Your Goodwill is filled with gold... my goodwill electronics is filled with old alarm clocks and food processors
GUAD LOAD Sounds like all of ours here in Kentucky. When I have the chance I go to southern Indiana and sometimes Tennessee because both have better stores and prices.
Kudos to whoever found that Tron 2.0 game at the end. That was one of my favorite games years back. Incredibly fun! :)
"going to 1 more Goodwill, because I can"
And that right there is the empowering feel of thrifting!
Funny, I actually had Hot Coco this morning. Just like LGR, it's a great way to start the day.
It’s a good thing that you left that Partition Magic behind. My dad had installed that on our old Win98 machine, and it started to cause problems, but he didn’t move stuff out of the partitions before uninstalling it and, long story short, it’s a good thing my mom knew how to use DOS...
I really can't wait for your coco video! Great job again Clint!
My grandma had one of those huge wooden stereo things. I remember playing records on it as a kid.
Kid + Candy store + Tandy CoCo = Incoming awesome vids. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
Y'know, over in the UK there was a computer called the Dragon 32/64 which was - weirdly - compatible with some Tandy Coco software! Also had a lovely keyboard - they really didn't skimp on keyboards back then.
8:05 Swords & Serpents is really good - it's a NES exclusive dungeon crawler designed by Brian Fargo, which supports the NES multitap.
I had one of those Whiz Kids when I was young and I turned it on in a airplane flying to Toronto and it literally started picking up the pilots radio calls. kinda whacky.
Wow nice price for the Tandy computer!
I would love to find that Atari bundle :(
There are always so many cool pieces of vintage electronics in your thrift stores. I'm super jealous. I would've been all over that Sears Telegames... I can't find a decent priced 2600 to save my life
LGR thrifts soothes me to sleep. It is my meditation. It is my therapy.
I am new to your "Thrifts" series but it seems like it is awesome!
I hope you continue to enjoy!
