Hello and good day! I'm sorry for the late reply. The last 'visual' update that I can give you for this Fern is about three months ago. I use to do a plant declutter/exchange every now and then, so I no longer have this Fern in my possession. Three months ago: the Fern had wilted the leaves of last year but had a lot of new fronds, making it bushy and concentrated at the center of the pot. My late reply is due to the fact that I wanted to contact her new owner to make sure she still survives to this day 🤣 and she does! Thus this was a successful experiment with a happy ending!

love your bird and thanks for this video. i wanted to transplant this type of fern to leca. I also noticed that you put water up to the top when in leca, it should be only at the bottom about 2 to 3 inch

Thank you so much! Jay sends you his love! Yes you saw right, when I watered this fern during the previous months I've always watered till the top because we had a heatwave and the water evaporated really fast! During colder months this should be avoided, especially here in Greece where the temperatures get really low. So happy to see your comment! 💚🪴

What fertilizer would you recommend for adding nutrients in this situation?

    • @nayaprokopiou

I couldn't recommend a specific brand... but I would carefully check that the one that you'll choose to have all the micro and macro nutrients that the plants need. Since we have no soil we have to provide everything with the water. I would recommend liquid fertilizers, you could make it work with the granulated ones too, but liquid ones are easier to calculate, in my opinion.... (another option is aquarium fertilizers, root tabs or liquid, but they tend to be more expensive). You should also keep in mind that in semi+hydroponics we should also check the pH to make sure that we are between 5.5-6.5 (for most plants) since fertilizers can alter ph. You won't have to add the fertilizer in every watering. I add mine once a month after the flushing (removing all water). At the moment I use pond water for mine (which already has the fertilizer that I put in for the pond plants), that's why I haven't researched the brands much, but a little comparison goes a long way. Hope I helped a bit.

@@zi6959 happy to help! Ferns are always a nice addition, with label or not 😂🥰🪴Just don’t delay their watering, bright but indirect light is good, direct will burn them. I would suggest to not mist it, a humidifier is better if you need more humidity.

@@sansevieria1018 They definitely work when trying to propagate sansevierias, but i don't know how would a mature plant do. This is a really interesting expiriment i must say! I would love to see if it works or not, the looks will be stunning tho 😍
