As long as Ivey gets to lead the bench or take charge when Cade isn’t in he’s fine. His efficiency goes up the more he shoots. He just needs to find rhythm and playing with Cade doesn’t give him enough shots to do that. He’s over a 35% 3 point shooter when he gets 3 inside the line shots up before he takes a 3. He’s not streaky he just needs to ease his way into shooting 3’s. Ivey will be perfectly fine this year, at least 17 ppg with good shooting
Ivey had a shocking jump in 3% as a rookie. While the percentage didn't go up much year two he shot a high volume and wasn't put in a position to excell. Most players don't see their 3% improve at an even rate, but rather it jumps then stays flat before jumping again. Ivey is poised to shoot 36% from there on good volume, which puts him in the same range as THJ with better passing.
Jaden not a PG but he can spot you minutes there. That's why him Cade and Ausar and the 1 2 and 3 can be great. They can be interchangeable in the same lineup in transition and running certain sets. It's just about Ausar and Jaden becoming better off ball scorers.
They need to give Ivey the same opportunities as Killian and cade got Ivey been most healthy hard working and want to be here most but get the least opportunity and most hated I don't get it don't understand how they just gave cade the franchise and he haven't played a full season yet or a winning season with no accolades everyone should be completing its a 14 win team and team numbers and winning percentage better without cade don't get the pistons fan at all
I totally disagree on the reasoning for starting Ivey. If Ivey plays really well in the preseason and coming into the season in practice and Bickerstaff really likes him, then sure. But I don't think he earned a starting role with how he played last year, and if he doesn't look good next to Cade, then start somebody who does. To me it doesn't matter where he was drafted any more. It's a sunk cost and you're not getting it back. If Ivey looks good as a primary ball handler with Cade off the floor, give him some minutes next to Cade and see if he can be productive - but don't try to force it by giving him the starting role unearned.
I agree that Ron Holland should spend the season in the G. Ivey is the second best scorer on the team. But his defense is lacking. Starting and staggering him versus having him come off the bench is a tough call. His status as pick five could be the factor which tips the scales
@@scottwickett1273 all I have done is ask a question based upon body language in the small number of games Ivey started with Cade. If Ivey isn't the second best passer playmaker on the team, who is?

No, it's about Ivey and more importantly Duren being competent defenders (instead of horrific dogshit that guarantees losing).
For sure, even if ivey can become a reliable knockdown shooter, that opens up a heap for those three to play together.
Put Ivey at pg cade at 2 asuar as pf

Cade might want to be featured in a heliocentric offense. But if he wants to share the on ball duties, Ivey is the only option.
