  • This is the fist in a series of videos looking at some of the location fashion shoots we work on.
    A lot of the time due to the nature of these shoots we'll be working with a small crew and minimal equipment.
    For this shoot in Paris we basically found nice framing and where possible add something in with a Lastolite 1*2m Skylite Rapid frame with silver bounce.

    You guys have got everything you could ever dream of in terms of equipment and probabably always have more or less which is why I'm so glad there are areas such as fashion which are accessible to humble part timers like me 😅 there's so much scope for creative innovation although probs best to be by the book for big clients.

    Just found this channel(and subbed) and I cannot believe that you do not have more subscribers. Your insight and BTS footage is simply amazing. I especially love the 60 second videos and how inspiring it is to see what you can do even with a minimal amount of gear.

    Great video, very informative! Great to see the results you got from a minimal set up. Keep the videos coming they are very helpful. Just finishing off my final year studying Film Production at UOG and trying to keep my filming brain tick over in quarantine.

    Looks really good. However budget? Did you all travel from london to Paris? Seems to be around 6 people involved? I imagine it’s costly?

    • @StillMovingMedia
      @StillMovingMedia  Год назад

      So this shoot was actually combined with another we were doing, but yes in principle doing a shoot in another country can be costly. Crew wise there were 4 of us and then the model who was based in Paris. But for certain brands shooting in a specific location will really elevate their image, our team have just got back from a Spring/Summer fashion shoot in the south of Spain. That is the first time a brand we’ve worked with for a long time have shot abroad and it will have a very different look and feel from the content they usually get, also fashion often shoots out of season so we often don’t have suitable weather when the product is ready/needs to be shot!

    Insightful. Thanks for sharing. Did you need to acquire permits to film on the streets?

    • @StillMovingMedia
      @StillMovingMedia  4 года назад +2

      Not for the particular shoot we were doing as there is a clause to allow for small shoots for fashion, news reports, architectural. But check the specifics before you go if you're intending to do a shoot!

    Lovely video! I'd like to know the tech settings of the camera, especially the ones w/ the sunset background. What was the aperture and white balance setting?

    • @StillMovingMedia
      @StillMovingMedia  2 года назад +1

      Hmmmm, off the top of my head trying to remember…. ISO I pretty much leave at the native 800 on the URSA, I think I shot this prores 4444 so it’s possible I did ride the white balance during the shoot. It would have been between 5600k-6000k and then adjusted more in the grade if needed. Aperture not sure I generally try to sit above T3.2 to avoid any wide open issues….

    Really nice work! Was this shoot at a size where you needed a permit?

    • @StillMovingMedia
      @StillMovingMedia  4 года назад

      This was a very low-key shoot and fashion falls into a category of minor operations, where you operate without prior permission. Though you're milage may-vary check the current situation before you dive in!
