The main thing I love about Demon Slayer, is that it isn't some edgy, cheesy battle anime. It has meaning. Each and every one of the demons in the anime have a complex backstory, a reason for being the way they are. Just like Rui. He was a sick and feeble child, because of that he had to become a demon to survive, however he devoured someone and his parents thought the only way to go about repenting was to kill him then themselves. The reason Rui did what he did, was because he felt like his previous family wasn't correct.

Tanjiro is a very respectful character. Its amazing how even though the demons are attacking him he listens to there backstory. The fact that he feels sympathy is also amazing. Tanjiro is an amazing character and deserves more.
