There is emotion and struggle, they are basically telling you what it's like and warning you not to go down that road like Josh did instead of being like most the songs nowadays. They have a deeper meaning than what is sung.

I myself have ussed it many times to varying degrees. Fact Is - This track has a HUGE amount of autotune on it to enhance the vocals which where already very good, but to be a complete fanboy and think otherwise is simply wrong. Whether or not anyone believes me - I am a qualified sound engineer and music producer and I do know what I'm talking about and this track has a Huge amount of autotune. If you don't believe me then skype me and i can prove it to you very easily. Also, you didn't mention my 'compression' comment. Perhaps you are unfamiliar with compression as a musical term but you didn't mention it at all

I totally agree with you. Compression, in sound engineering terms, means being able to control the volume of an instrument, including a voice. Basically compression makes the loudest parts a little less loud and brings the quiet parts up slightly. Obviously theres more to it than that but it basically brings everything to the same level so that nothing is lost by being too quiet and nothing jumps out by being too loud. There is alot of compression on this track to make the vocals nice and loud so we can hear them and thats great. Compression, like autotune, is used on pretty much everything in todays music. It sounds nice, but I don't think all the vocal acrobatics do the song justice. The singer has a great voice, without question, but he sings this song SOOO hard. It's so unnecessary to belt in this sone. Let the lyrics speak. Aesthetically, the song sounds great, but considering what the song is actually saying, this take on it doesn't work for me at all.
