As someone whose grandfather was killed in 2015 in Scotlandd whilst training for the war, this song has always brought tears to my eyes. And I still have his photo on my mantelshelf so he is remembered today.

I remember meeting June Tabor when she had just started singing folk songs.
I remember her singing to a handful of people in the upstairs room of a Harrow pub back in the late 70s
