They stopped making episodes probably due to the lack of content available for Cars. They should really make a 2nd season of cars on the road or even Cars 4 to continue the series. After 18 years I finally heard Pixar confirm it themselves that Montgomery (Monty) is Lightning McQueen's real name. Well technically confirmed in 2017 when Cars 3 came out.

But I'm happy to see Pixar focus on their best film after releasing a trailer that will most likely be their worst. Nothing compares to this golden era of which Cars was released
