I've been playing this game for years, many playthroughs. Anyways I didn't know longneck lukowskis had a dungeon or a quest tied to it until like half an hour ago AND it's probably one of my favorite areas in the game now. I got graphics mods performance mods and the 770 perk overhaul and the 770 gameplay overhaul. I wasn't sure how I felt about it at first, but I'm having a blast. So you can clear a dungeon, fight tons of high level enemies and level up from like 2 dungeons even at higher levels. It makes exploring so worth it. Then the 770 perk overhaul adds 10 tanks to each perk so you don't get overpowered to fast or anything, in fact reaching godhood takes WAY longer than it used to. Most people probably wouldn't like the changes but I love them. (Oh and I forgot my favorite change, it makes healing items work the way they do in survival in every difficulty)

If you wander the wastelands, you can find many small sites with sad tales of families trying to survive unsuccessfully. You also run into strange characters (like the rat king) that you would not normally find. I won't mention the weapons.
i adore all the games with environmental world building like this and have gotten obsessed with games like RDR2.... this game is one that also has me playing for hours and hours. so many places to explore, and i love all the easter eggs within the game's own places, like you were showing here. not to mention that there's a whole quest where you can return an egg to a mother deathclaw and she just kinda... lets you live. it's great even just for that LOL
I have almost 2000 hours in this world a cross my three save files and more the 6000 hours a cross the other fallout games in my opinion fallout 4 is tied with new Vegas in enjoyment for me
I still need to play the other ones more, but, from a purely subjective standpoint, I have enjoyed Fallout 4 the most of them all - mostly because of the world. A few other things help too like tighter gameplay and such.
I think the game has a good amount of flaws (plot holes, narrative vs. gameplay structure, perhaps oversimplification) but i can always come back every 6 months or so and lose myself in the world all over. With a few mods (I usually play with about 100-150) it's pretty great.
The cave below Red Rocket...There is a handfull of loot right outside the entrance to said cave. If you never go in the cave that outside loot just keeps respawning and at a pretty rapid pace. Now, the cave has some pretty good loot, including a fusion core. Why would anyone give that up for the small amount of loot outside the cave ? Well, you see, ah, I have this cave phobia.... Entering Concord from the North...You find, in front of you, a couple of bloodbugs munching on a dead Bramin. Ok, kill them. Notice you have a choice for entering Concord. Follow the road South or follow the road East. Now, no matter which you choose, the first house on your right is a loot house including their back yards, with quick respawning loot. The rest of Concord has loot that respawns pretty fast but not as fast as the cave front and these two loot houses. Now, I'm a hoarder. And when I am on a loot run I pick up everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. At some point my Companion and Dogmeat (my pack mules) can't carry another ounce, or even another milligram. And Lo, I am overburdened. So I make the decision to head back to Sanctuary and I start trudging home but continue picking up all the loot I come across, as I know I will generally get home while carry more than twice what the three of us started home with. And, of course, I finish up by stripping Concord bare again. It has the added benefit of having the easiest raiders to kill in the game. I mean all you gotta do is look at them with a gun in your hands and they practically fall over dead without your help.
Kottabos Gaming?:) I think you nailed it with everything you said in this video - thanks for the wonderful entertainment. Although I mainly feature Skyrim don't tell anyone, but FO4 is my favourite :)

BIGGEST ONE, Bethesda wise, They are Single Player and do not require 10 people to hold your toolkit while you game. Second Best is Modding the Modding Community. Third Command Line Codes for when someone wants to play that is special needs for example and does not want to just be rag dolled all game long.

Thank you for sharing these videos and your commentary. :D Great job❣
I’m new to fallout but so far I’m on 4 now after beating NV and 3. NV had an incredible story, fallout 3 has a good story but both had amazing worlds and deep elements w/choices. Fallout 4s “gameplay” and graphics are the best by a long shot which they rightfully should be considering it’s the newest game, I’m not too deep into the story yet…then again , I’m just exploring the wasteland . I definitely have noticed that the “choices” so far pale in comparison to NV and 3, it’s almost as if this entry forces you to be a “good guy” . Still a deep rpg, but I feel a bit more handcuffed into being who they’re anticipating the character to be . So I just started a new game and created Rick Grimes and I’m having an absolute blast .
There’s a formula that’s been figured out for calculating the likelihood of raids. There’s always a 2% chance per day. You increase the odds for every item of food and drink stored in the workshop. Low defense value increases odds. A high settler happiness decreases it. With some proper strategies, Raids are infrequent.
It became trendy by people who already hated Bethesda I think. And I do think there's plenty to critique of this game, but you also have to give credit where it's due. This world is amazing!
@@phobiahavoc I didnt love it, didnt hate it but out of Bethesda's two tries at Fallout, its much better than 3 imo. Neither are as good as New Vegas (or FO1&2 but those aren't really comparable) but that doesnt make 3 or 4 bad games, both are fun in their own right.
@@brandondanforth8342new vegas is very fun and the others to I think the main selling point I don’t play new vegas non stop instead 4 is not being able to countue after the main story
I have completed the main story line while playing each of the factions. Now I don't really bother with the main story quest line. I just wander around and visit each of the places I've opened up while looking for more. I sometimes play on Survival mode but, mostly on Very Hard difficulty. At some point I will have leveled up such that gameplay becomes a walk in the park, so I then create another character with different beginning Special stats and start over. I sometimes leave Preston and gang in the Museum for my entire play thru. I also haven't visited the HQ of the other factions in quite some time. As far as I am concerned the Institute and BOS are in the same class as raiders and gunners. @@erek3034
I had a hard time getting into RDR2. I really wasn't hooked by the gameplay, but I should give it another chance. A lot of people highly recommend that world.
I absolutely loved the worldspace in Fallout 4. It's just not very fleshed out and the game itself is so lacking that the world just becomes an afterthought. The glowing sea, Far Harbor, Nuka World, Diamond City, Goodneighbor, and the Vaults are all excellently built places with absolutely nothing of importance to do.
Main problem I have with Fallout 4 worldbuilding. The majority of terminal entries and environmental storytelling is for pre-war events. It has been 200 years since the war, this stuff should not be so conveniently the same as it was spelled out on the terminals. A lot of the things you pointed out in this video should not be feasible. Skeletons not decomposing, let alone staying in the same place for 200 years. Data on terminals that haven't been destroyed or moved or corrupted. Raiders mentioned 3 months after the war generationally occupying the same still standing walled off community until just before you leave the vault. It all feels very contrived and pulls me right out of the immersion, defeating the purpose of this kind of storytelling.
It's still as big as the ocean, but as deep as a kiddie pool. It doesn't make it any deeper just cause you found a few floating diapers that vaugely resembled a face
The world is actually very deep, you ever go to downtown Boston in the game. There is so many ways to traverse including up and down. Also the Rad sea is hauntingly beautiful
I don‘t know, to me Fallout NV does everything you mention better, there is more to discover, more to pay attention to, more small hidden stuff, and the big thing to me: *More actual locations that aren‘t just empty building places for you to turn into settlements.* Without DLC there are only 7 towns/villages in Fallout 4: Goodneighbour Diamond City The Institute Vault 81 Bunker Hill Acadia Covenant While there are 31 in Fallout NV: Nellis Air Force Base Cottonwood Cove Nelson Legates Camp The Fort Legion raid Camp Followers Outpost New Vegas Medical Clinic New Vegas (The Strip) Hidden Valley Great Khan Encampment NCR Correctional facility 188 trading Post Aerotech Office Park Bitter Springs Boulder City Camp Forlorn Hope Camp McCarren Camp Golf Camp Guardian Camp Searchlight Helios One Hoover Dam Mojave Outpost Sloan Goodsprings Jacobstown Novac Primm Freeside Westside This makes NV world feel much more alive and believable. Fallout 4 has just as many NPCs but basically everyone is out to kill everyone else while in NV you can change the opinion of each faction in such a way that they will let you in.
Although that’s true almost all of those locations are shallow also the prywen Boston airport basically the same but I know what your saying but settlement building all the settlements you can build into fortress or just farms the gun play
@@erek3034 „Although that’s true almost all of those locations are shallow“ How so? Each of them has at least one unique quest that isn‘t just „go there and kill x amount of enemies“ Also all of them have a story of why they are here and why the current situation is the way it is. And even if you only count the ones which have more than 1 or 2 quests, there are still way more than in Fallout 4: The Fort New Vegas (The Strip) Camp McCarren Hidden Valley Helios One Goodsprings Jacobstown Novac Primm Freeside Westside Which is still much more than what Fallout 4 has. „ but settlement building all the settlements you can build into fortress or just farms“ I know but you could do that and maintain 31 unique and cool locations. You don‘t need to get rid of 24 Locations to get space for settlement building.
Nah I get it's your opinion, but most of the new vegas side quests are mediocre at best. The locations themselves are boring and uninspired, with only the Fort being relevant and interesting. It's too bad. There aren't any interesting legion characters. New Vegas put everything into its main quest. If you go outside the areas the games wants you to be in, the world just dies. NV characters all have one of three personalities. Optimistic asshole. Pessimistic nice guy or psychopath.
@@disconcerningcitizen2224 "but most of the new vegas side quests are mediocre at best." How so? Do you not like the writing or Actor performance? Are the quests to complex/convoluted? Why do you think they are only mediocre? " New Vegas put everything into its main quest. If you go outside the areas the games wants you to be in, the world just dies." Strange that is exactly the opposite of my experience, I have never completed the New Vegas main quest, instead I have only done the side quests, which in my opinion are way better. "NV characters all have one of three personalities. Optimistic asshole. Pessimistic nice guy or psychopath." Well, at least they have character at all. In other BGS games (after Morrowind), apart from Nazeem, basically everybody is a neutral friendly person with no more depth to them.
Red dead redemption 1 & 2 are outstanding, but Fallout 3 and new vegas are just empty plane fields of the same sights. Just a few towns and the vaults are interesting.
Man even though I agree with your overall point on fallout 4 having a great world. Your methods of explaining it was so terrible/ borderlines on click bait. The title of the video should of been “let’s play fallout 4; why I think it has the best open world” Because the majority of this video was you narrating a let’s play rather then going over your points. Like you already edited your gameplay to skip over a lot of parts, so I really don’t understand why you had a third of your video talking about creating your character, and talking about playing the game rather then the topic you titled the video
I did watch the video. I listened to him spend 5 minutes playing in character creator as he talked about a podcast he listened to which inspired him to make this character. Then he goes over how he was having trouble morphing the eyes, but that’s okay but hey that’s close enough to lex. Bro went on and on talking about absolutely nothing pertaining to the title of the video. I’m sorry that you don’t value your time that you just watch let’s plays while he sorta not really talks about his point. There is giving an example, and then there is doing a let’s play while talking about why you think fallout has good world building. This is the latter

Best ? I don't know because I haven't played all the games out there. But I can say that IMO Fallout 4 is the best game I have ever played. And I started playing way back when I got my first computer (Apple IIc). I actually started playing games on my work computer but the boss didn't like that. I pre-ordered this game and have been playing it constantly since it hit the streets, back on 15 November 2015. When I say constantly, I mean almost daily for the past 8+ years. I have played all the Fallout games except FO 76 as I'm not into multi player games. I have played other games since Nov 2015 but none held my interest with the staying power of Fallout 4.
You could of edited out the combat, that said, these little snippets of story telling by far in no way makes up for the blatant stupidity and contrivances of the factions where The Institute has no goal and are architects of their own demise, Minutemen are weak and you as the General has to do all the grunt work, The Railroad are hypocrites because they condemn the Institute for playing God but they erase a synth's entire personality and set them loose regardless of the consequence and the ONLY reason why The Brotherhood is in 4 is purely for marketing purposes, just like they were in 76, there's no reason they would spend that amount of man-power over something that was considered a laughable urban myth during FO3. I'm not even going to go in to all the lore inconsistencies, your dialogue pigeon-holing you in to being a good Samaritan good guy or how the Junk becomes a detracting annoyance rather quick where you constantly run out of junk because of it.
Lol, yes, I'm sure Bethesda's mastermind strategy is to pay a channel with (at the time) like 1k subs to praise a part of their game in a video that has about 5k views - a video that says the game is certainly lacking in many other areas. Clearly that is more believable than the notion that a person had their own independent thoughts and formulated them into a video where they present evidence for the claims they make... Be a better person
The worst fallout games are 3 and new vegas. And the best ones are 1 and 2. Fallout 4 is the best looking and the one I can play the longest without getting bored.
Played it again just to give it a second chance...compared to Vegas, this game is such a piece of shit. Action power fantasy with marginal "rpg" elements. And people talk about "builds" in this game lol...🙈Try system shock 2 ffs
Everything in Fallout 4 just reeks of wasted potential the game map DEFINITELY included with all of its wasted potential for quests random events and base locations and just overall lackluster dungeon design that was great and at the core in the older games before it, all of the Fallout games reward exploration not just 4 and hell world building and environmental storytelling is at the core of any competently made RPG. TES: Oblivion was the last true and good RPG Bethesda ever made everything since has been a dumbed down polished turd that looks good and has smooth controls but has absolutely no effort put into the quests factions and plot which is inexcusable for any RPG yet alone two of the best franchises ever made.

If you wander the wastelands, you can find many small sites with sad tales of families trying to survive unsuccessfully. You also run into strange characters (like the rat king) that you would not normally find. I won't mention the weapons.
Fallout 4 has features that are worth critiquing. But to say that its simply bad/mediocre is baffling.
I completely agree.
By focusing on the non issues, it confuses bethesda and prevents us from getting improvements in future titles
@disconcerningcitizen2224 I know right.
i adore all the games with environmental world building like this and have gotten obsessed with games like RDR2.... this game is one that also has me playing for hours and hours. so many places to explore, and i love all the easter eggs within the game's own places, like you were showing here.
not to mention that there's a whole quest where you can return an egg to a mother deathclaw and she just kinda... lets you live. it's great even just for that LOL
Fallout 4s overall world is definitely underrated and I’m so happy the show re-ignited the games! Great video brother!
I have almost 2000 hours in this world a cross my three save files and more the 6000 hours a cross the other fallout games in my opinion fallout 4 is tied with new Vegas in enjoyment for me
1. Fallout new vegas/4
2. Fallout 3
3. Fallout 2
4. Fallout 1(just because I have played it the least out of the them)
I still need to play the other ones more, but, from a purely subjective standpoint, I have enjoyed Fallout 4 the most of them all - mostly because of the world. A few other things help too like tighter gameplay and such.
Started playing this for the first time on Saturday this game is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Once I understood where you come from I realized you were not going to forget. Good memories!
Fallout 4 on survival with modded dialogue is actually good
I think the game has a good amount of flaws (plot holes, narrative vs. gameplay structure, perhaps oversimplification) but i can always come back every 6 months or so and lose myself in the world all over. With a few mods (I usually play with about 100-150) it's pretty great.
I'm not big on mods. I use only 3. P-99 10mm pistol, glowing dead bodies after a fight, and my Jetpac.
Completely agree with this video. Well put together and great execution
I love art style and design of this game
I love the look of fallout 4, just the 1950’s abandoned city
10:00 Dogmeat - "Ohh BALL! BALL BALL B..."
this video is so underrated!
I mean all you gotta do is look at them with a gun in your hands and they practically fall over dead without your help.
postal 2 world is my faivort map of all time but you make very good points for fallout4 world

Kottabos Gaming?:) I think you nailed it with everything you said in this video - thanks for the wonderful entertainment. Although I mainly feature Skyrim don't tell anyone, but FO4 is my favourite :)
I appreciate the kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed. Skyrim has many of the strengths that FO4 does, but I think FO4's world is Bethesda's best work to date.

Great video, and great world. never really been a fan of fallout though, but have played it a bit. I'm looking forward to Starfield simply to see what they do with all the worlds. :) Yes, it's going to be bugged.... but that doesn't really bother me, all games are.
BIGGEST ONE, Bethesda wise, They are Single Player and do not require 10 people to hold your toolkit while you game. Second Best is Modding the Modding Community. Third Command Line Codes for when someone wants to play that is special needs for example and does not want to just be rag dolled all game long.
I'm not sure if this is the case but I am slightly positive I have found Mr handy fuel cans empty. Do not quite remember where but I thought it was kind of odd
You said it. I got a brand new pc to play Fallout 4. After 3 and NV, I thought, it'll be cool. 4 became my favorite game of all time. I've fallen in love with a variety of games over the years, but Fallout 4 will always be a game I return to and play for many hours at a time. I only have a bit under 3k hrs in it so far. ;) I found your Medieval Dynasty great first day video and at the end I found this. You win. Thank you for sharing these videos and your commentary. :D Great job❣
Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoy the videos.
I never knew about that cave 😵💫
I quit this game because I was tired of running back to my homestead every 20 minutes to fend off raids.
How do people get raided although in my settlements I have a shit ton of death laws
@@ErosXCaos Thank you, know I know, why I don't get raided xD
Yes! It’s a sleep pick because for some reason the internet decided to hate on it.
@@erek3034

Red Dead Redemption 2
The world in fallout 4 = meh.. The world in Fallout 4 VR = 🥰👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
It's still as big as the ocean, but as deep as a kiddie pool. It doesn't make it any deeper just cause you found a few floating diapers that vaugely resembled a face
Funny because a good chunk of the map is water
The world is actually very deep, you ever go to downtown Boston in the game. There is so many ways to traverse including up and down. Also the Rad sea is hauntingly beautiful
If you don’t think it’s deep then you clearly have not played it for longer than 6 minutes
Bro felt so badass saying that 💀
you really think what you said is smart huh? I‘d rather have a world with a lot of small details instead of a world with few big details
Daggerfall probably has a better game world, but they may not be fair comparisons.
If we’re only considering open-world games, then yeah, I’d say the Fallout games are the best.
Is there a more linear world you would say is better? I'm always interested in hearing about good worlds in gaming.

I don‘t know, to me Fallout NV does everything you mention better, there is more to discover, more to pay attention to, more small hidden stuff, and the big thing to me:
*More actual locations that aren‘t just empty building places for you to turn into settlements.*
Without DLC there are only 7 towns/villages in Fallout 4:
Goodneighbour
Diamond City
The Institute
Vault 81
Bunker Hill
Acadia
Covenant
While there are 31 in Fallout NV:
Nellis Air Force Base
Cottonwood Cove
Nelson
Legates Camp
The Fort
Legion raid Camp
Followers Outpost
New Vegas Medical Clinic
New Vegas (The Strip)
Hidden Valley
Great Khan Encampment
NCR Correctional facility
188 trading Post
Aerotech Office Park
Bitter Springs
Boulder City
Camp Forlorn Hope
Camp McCarren
Camp Golf
Camp Guardian
Camp Searchlight
Helios One
Hoover Dam
Mojave Outpost
Sloan
Goodsprings
Jacobstown
Novac
Primm
Freeside
Westside
This makes NV world feel much more alive and believable.
@@erek3034 „Although that’s true almost all of those locations are shallow“
How so?
Each of them has at least one unique quest that isn‘t just „go there and kill x amount of enemies“
Also all of them have a story of why they are here and why the current situation is the way it is.
And even if you only count the ones which have more than 1 or 2 quests, there are still way more than in Fallout 4:
The Fort
New Vegas (The Strip)
Camp McCarren
Hidden Valley
Helios One
Goodsprings
Jacobstown
Novac
Primm
Freeside
Westside
Which is still much more than what Fallout 4 has.
„ but settlement building all the settlements you can build into fortress or just farms“
I know but you could do that and maintain 31 unique and cool locations. You don‘t need to get rid of 24 Locations to get space for settlement building.
I dont like sand
Nah I get it's your opinion, but most of the new vegas side quests are mediocre at best. The locations themselves are boring and uninspired, with only the Fort being relevant and interesting.
It's too bad. There aren't any interesting legion characters. New Vegas put everything into its main quest. If you go outside the areas the games wants you to be in, the world just dies.
NV characters all have one of three personalities. Optimistic asshole. Pessimistic nice guy or psychopath.
@@disconcerningcitizen2224 "but most of the new vegas side quests are mediocre at best."

Strange that is exactly the opposite of my experience, I have never completed the New Vegas main quest, instead I have only done the side quests, which in my opinion are way better.
"NV characters all have one of three personalities. Optimistic asshole. Pessimistic nice guy or psychopath."
Well, at least they have character at all.
In other BGS games (after Morrowind), apart from Nazeem, basically everybody is a neutral friendly person with no more depth to them.

Rockstar worlds are the only ones better new vegas is just a massive desert with random shi scattered
The title of the video should of been “let’s play fallout 4; why I think it has the best open world”
Because the majority of this video was you narrating a let’s play rather then going over your points. Like you already edited your gameplay to skip over a lot of parts, so I really don’t understand why you had a third of your video talking about creating your character, and talking about playing the game rather then the topic you titled the video
Its called giving examples. If you didn't understand his point, I'm seriously asking you: did you even watch the video?
I did watch the video. I listened to him spend 5 minutes playing in character creator as he talked about a podcast he listened to which inspired him to make this character. Then he goes over how he was having trouble morphing the eyes, but that’s okay but hey that’s close enough to lex.
Bro went on and on talking about absolutely nothing pertaining to the title of the video. I’m sorry that you don’t value your time that you just watch let’s plays while he sorta not really talks about his point.
There is giving an example, and then there is doing a let’s play while talking about why you think fallout has good world building. This is the latter

I love Fallout 4 but the weapons suck and I wasn't a fan of the storyline.
Too bad it runs like shit on moderm PC, requires a nexusmod fix to fix load times that it does not support ultrawide and that it requires a community patch to not have game breaking bugs on quests... it's even worst than Skyrim in the abandonware departement from Bethesda.
Amusingly I can get New Vegas, a far older game to run way better than FO4 ever worked for me.
This is characteristic of most Fallout games, I take it as a feature now and wait to play until an unofficial patch comes out lol

Wrong.
No
Paid shill
Lol, yes, I'm sure Bethesda's mastermind strategy is to pay a channel with (at the time) like 1k subs to praise a part of their game in a video that has about 5k views - a video that says the game is certainly lacking in many other areas. Clearly that is more believable than the notion that a person had their own independent thoughts and formulated them into a video where they present evidence for the claims they make...
Be a better person
It would've been better of you'd have responded by saying: Yes, Bethesda pays me, with Cocaine & Whores!
They do it for free.
Still one of the worst fallout imo
I think that's a fair discussion, which is why I'm not making the case for the game overall - just the world.
Vegas is hardly overrated. If you want a good rpg, play age of decadence, witcher or red dead redemption.
Oblivion is no more an rpg than Fallout 3, Skyrim and Starfield.
