Why NASCAR Fans Don't Like Carson Hocevar

  • Carson Hocevar is a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver for Niece Motorsports in the number 42 truck. Carson comes off as a likable guy- he’s got a big personality, he’s engaged on twitter, and wears hats sometimes. Beyond this, Carson is undoubtedly quick. He races for a mid-tier team in the truck series and has been far better than his teammates, outside of ross chastain. He reminds me of a guy like Matt Dibenidetto- a seemingly likable guy in a back marker team that is constantly outperforming his equipment- but once he got into the spotlight, his public perception changed for the worse. Carson Hocevar has had many incidents over the last few years that have turned the fans against him, and we’re going to take a look at them.

    *DISCLAIMER*
This is in no way a hate video on the person Carson is. He seems like a very cheerful, nice, and intelligent guy. This video is a showcase of some of his incidents on the race track and explaining why many fans have turned against him over the last couple of years. This is in no way an attack on him as an individual. I tried to be fair in this video by objectively showing different perspectives in certain accidents and holding him accountable for others.

Hocevar lost me after about the second time he spun himself out and the fact that he’s proven to be an overall dirty driver. He can’t take bump and runs so he thinks the solution is to right hook people and he has the ram throw everybody to finally pull off the win. He finally did it everybody and yet I can’t be happy for him because his aggression is in lots of what I hate about the truck series. NASCAR not only needs to put their foot down with him but they need to really put their foot down with that series has a whole because it’s just terrible at this point. I don’t even wanna watch most of the races and I don’t care when I miss them anymore. Why should I bother with s series that only has 2 or 3 drivers that act like they’ve got some sense?

Carson Hocevar is my best friend. I've known him since we were 6 years old and I am never afraid to tell him my opinion. I'm always honest with him, and the incident with Bickle was actually Bickle's fault when Bickle admitted that he didn't like Carson because of his success. Carson also has a fanbase that is quite toxic, something he sees as concerning. Due to him being stalked by Gio Trapani, he's become very on the fence about who he interacts with. Carson has a lot of talent and he's going very far. He just needs to calm down and stop making decisions without thinking. When we were growing up, he worked harder than anyone else in the garage area. We would BS about how we were going to race in NASCAR together before I had a life (and career) altering accident. He has what it takes, TRUST ME!! I've seen it firsthand, but as I said a second ago, he needs to stop making stupid mistakes that make him look like a hothead.

I think he has the old style and personality of drivers from like the 90s to early 2000s where he’s basically out there for himself and will try anything that being said I don’t think he should be doing the stuff he does half the time like spinning out on purpose

I watched another video of the vegas one and i did not see how hard he turned right, continually doing things on purpose why are we to believe he didnt spin Corey Hiem on purpose. He wont do too much of thay next year in the cup series somebody will jerk him up.

My young friend Elfyn Evans won the World Rally Championship Rally Croatia over the weekend just. He's in the running for World Champion. Here's hoping. See Dirtfish vids. 👍

He’s a great driver he just needs to grow up, figuring he’s only like 20 something. It’ll happen naturally

Carson Hocevar did a lot of disagreeable things because he was desperate for a win imo. Now that he has that monkey off his back I'm expecting him to make more rational decisions on track. As he gets more comfortable in his setting he can rely less on aggression and more on execution.

I like him, but he Seriously needs an attitude Adjustment. he's not making friends on track. He has a great personality and is a really nice guy off track, but he has a temper issue and it is bad.
