I stayed at the Red Planet in Asok Bangkok, and it was just as your video shows, great value for money...and yes, the bathroom is almost as big as the room, and a huge shower cubicle...room for three!! LoL.
thaimaxcan 2 seconds ago I was there too a few times. All Red Planet Hotels in Thailand and Philippines were originally operated as TUNE Hotel in Partnership. From Wikipedia: In July 2015, Red Planet announced that it had ended its partnership with Tune Hotels and rebranded all of its properties in the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, and Japan. TUNE ( Air Asia ) kept TUNE hotels in Malaysia and UK. The first TUNE Hotels had small room similar to the Hotel in Pattaya. The more recently built Red Planet have larger room and some have a small fridge and some a desk. I still use Red Planet and Tune Hotels,
Very nice presentation, as someone who doesn't need much but the basics, this is a really good option. If i'm ever in Bangkok i'll check this place out. Thanks alot!
Thanks for the vid your the second person to recommend red planet hotel with great price and guest friendly, Most times when in Pattaya I usually stay on the other end of 2nd road but next time to explore this side.
I do agree that some might find the rooms to be on the small side, but it's a nice, clean, and cheap place if you need to get a room at the 11th hour. I was quoted a rate of 980 THB when I booked online an hour before I was due to arrive
If you like staying on the second road, you should also check out At Mind Serviced Apartment near second road. You can get pretty good rates for studio room on Agoda. All rooms come with a kitchen, oven, microwave and cooking ware. It is a 4-star serviced apartment for rent to tourists. It's guest friendly and you can take 2 girls into your room with no extra charge.
Hi Bangkok 112, great vlog! Question: Going to Pattaya in Jan.2017 do i have to book in advance or just take my chances to find a place to stay that is central and reasonable priced?
hey Bangkok 112, thanks for the tip! I finally made it to BKK and booked some of your recommendations from the link on your website.. Ruamchitt Plaza was great! Thermae is a paradox though and a waste of time for most dudes but there was a buffet of flesh out front in the steps at 2 am. booked Sam,s Lodge too through your link. must have over booked because at check in the manager said I was too tall for the small room I booked (under $20 per night) so she paid for a cab to take me to the Smart Suites on Soi 11. free upgrade she said. guest friendly too. good people working at all three of these places. maybe headed to Pattaya in a few days so I appreciate the economical suggestions. Thai girls are turning into a costly to vice.
Bangkok 112 oh and on the first day I came to love the proper Thai massage after a 26 hour flight in coach that wrecked my back! maybe a video tour of your favorite legit massage parlours is in order. there are everywhere! A proper Thai masseuse can give you more than any girlfriend experience because your farang girlfriend won't ever take care of you like that.
Great vid. And great little hotel. Not bar fridge is a real shame. Could you tell me about the internet please ? Is it in the room or only in the lobby ? And is it free, or do you pay for it ? Cheers !
hi mate i have a request im coming in march to thailand and i wanted to know which hotel is best and guestfriend in bkk near soi cowboy and nana plaza cause im staying 12 days in bkk and 3 weeks in phuket and if u knew a nice guest friendly hotel also in phuket Thanks for ur nice videos take care
Hey Mario, there are guest friendly hotel guides with recommendations on the website: Soi Cowboy: bangkok112.com/bangkok-hotels-stay-near-soi-cowboy/ Nana Plaza: bangkok112.com/bangkok-hotels-where-to-stay-near-nana-plaza/ Phuket: bangkok112.com/patong-best-hotels-15-40-night/ Thank you for watching and enjoy your travels :)
thanks mate i have been to thailand 4 times already but this time i wanna go everywhere hahah thanks for info and waiting for ur vlogs like always cheers
Decided to treat myself on my first visit to the siam siam design, I did spot the red planet & was considering it for the next trip, no balcony & fridge is a shame. Price great & location could not be better ( soi 6 & the soapies!!)
I stayed there for a couple of weeks in 2014 when it was a tune hotel. Couldn't knock the price and location combination. I just prefer to book somewhere around soi bukhao now.
Love watching your videos man. Ive been to Thailand so many times and watching the videos brings back so many good memories ;) What is your favorite place girl/club wise? Pattaya, Bkk or Fuckit?
Looks EXACTLY like every other Red Planet I've ever stayed in... Always clean and guest-friendly. Just wish they would put refrigerator under the other table. Always enjoy your vids 112...
Me too, the lack of a kettle I can live with but a small fridge would do wonders and I'd definitely consider staying longer if they had them. The bed and shower far exceeded my expectations on this visit. Plus the location on Second road is great, 2 minutes walk to Soi 6 and all the main soapies are nearby plus the beach is 3 mins away. Thanks for watching Meatpie :)
Bangkok 112 So personally, to deal with the lack of a hot water kettle in countless spots, I have invested in a "travel hot water heater" , which is basically a plug-in heating element, that you submerge in a "pot" of water that you want to heat. Many different styles, brands, and sizes available online. I bought mine on Central Pattaya Road at a small, local shop that just has lots of random "stuff". I showed him a picture and he dug one out from the back room... If I had planned ahead, I probably would have bought one thru Amazon or something. Anyways, enough about me, I just wanted to share that tip with you and any fellow travelers in the same boat. Also you need to have a "solid" container to heat the water in... Use common sense everyone. Ok have to get back to the bar girls now In Rhompo Bar Complex In Jomtiem. Thanks again BKK112.
I advise everyone to do a lot more research on Agoda before settling on a small room like this. Yes it looks clean and efficient, but it costs $27 right now (before taxes), has no pool, is located around Soi 3 and 2nd Road (which is far away from the action), and the room here is only 15X151 square meters. I'm booked in March at April Suites, which is right in the heart of Soi 6, Soi 6/1, Soi 7 and 8 mass of bars and nightlife, has a lovely pool on top of the hotel, is more modern than this, and for a room twice as big (28X301 sq meters) costs only $4 more!
Good advice friend. I think the room rates have gone up recently at Red Plant due to it's popularity with Chinese/Korean guests. April Suites is a good choice, you can see how it compares with other Pattaya hotels in the $20-40 range here: bangkok112.com/pattaya-best-hotels-20-to-40-a-night/ Thanks for watching.
Watching only few of your videos. I had only coffee there 2 years ago, below average experience. My instinct is you prefer new-built, conveniently located, economical hotel, compromise factors are small room, and lacking facilities and amenities.I had stayed in two of the 'Sabai' named hotels nearby in Soi 2 or soi 3. There might be 6-7 'Sabai' something hotel. They were old hotels offered rather spacious room, more than decent swimming pool, OK facilities. Pricing was in 900-1300 B range. I had food issue in one breakfast in Sabai Resort. It made me more alerted in food selection.
I have a Sabai Wing hotel review on the way soon, that was an older hotel located on Soi 1. It's good to get a different point of view sometimes and I like to stay in all kinds of hotels as long as they are clean. No creepy crawlies for me. My favourite Pattaya hotel in the price range of around 1200 baht is the 'D Hotel' just off Soi Buakhao. I really like April Suites and Pattaya Blue Sky too for that price range. You can read my Pattaya hotel guide here: bangkok112.com/pattaya-best-hotels-20-to-40-a-night/ with more detailed comparisons of the hotels I've stayed. Thanks for watching.
Thats good video mate.. I was in Philippines exactly in Cagayan de oro city.. They had also redplanet hotel.. Im surprised they are the same rooms.. the same size as well.. and u are right about the bath size I took a hot bath with a hot lady over there :p.. I highly recommend you to visit Philippines once.. Thanks again 🙂👌
personally i would not stay on that side of the hill.....it is far more chilled out down at the far end of Jomtien..... i have my own private deal with a bigger and more comfortable room for 500 baht, been staying there for a number of years now. the owner has become a good friend. life is more chilled and far cheaper at Jomtien and besides the food options there are second to none with three good markets to choose from.
I agree, have never stayed at hotel in Thailand without a fridge, even cheaper budget hotels have a fridge as you will want a cold drink of water or a nice cold beer after coming back to the hotel especially with the humid weather in Thailand.
Very nice review. The locale, price, friendliness (no fees), working fan, aircon and cheap breakfast make it worth it. You did not mention if the food was tasty or not... No fridge, that's kind of a downer.
You always have the most comprehensive hotel reviews! Thanks!
This video is like your love letter to the hotel. It's art.
I stayed here twice, it's very good hotel and cheap prices also great location... Thank you for sharing mate
Heater traveller me too
I stayed at the Red Planet in Asok Bangkok, and it was just as your video shows, great value for money...and yes, the bathroom is almost as big as the room, and a huge shower cubicle...room for three!! LoL.

1great review- best i ever saw- even the tv channels- brilliant!!
The chain has a hotel at Asoke too, in Bangkok.
Thanks for that info... can I ask you what music is on the background? I like it
It used to be called THE TUNE HOTEL, I stayed there a few times 2012/2013
Nice vlog ......your vids getting better every time
Cheers Steve, thanks for watching mate :)
Hoping to get to Thailand next summer! Watching your vid's and others to get some know how. Thanks mate!
Very nice presentation, as someone who doesn't need much but the basics, this is a really good option. If i'm ever in Bangkok i'll check this place out. Thanks alot!

Quite typical of an ibis transit hotel I stay at in arlanda stockholm

Agree 100% Mr Caesar. It's not the Ritz but if you're in a tight spot it's fine for a few days. Thanks for watching.
Very basic , coffee shop and 7/11 near by but no fridge would be a pain . Good option for a tight budget .
If you like staying on the second road, you should also check out At Mind Serviced Apartment near second road. You can get pretty good rates for studio room on Agoda. There is also one in Phuket (Patong).
excellent video, would be perfect if u review the hotels that you stay just like you did on this video, thanks again
Hey, Bangkok 112!
I like to your hotel review video! All video were hangers shaken! That's so funny!5555
bk112, I know what a massage is, but what is a soapy massage?
This place seems perfect!
The design on this hotel reminds we very much of Galleria 12 at Sukhumvit Soi 12 in Bangkok. Also a very nice hotel. :)
classic Tune hotel room. Exactly the same across Asia. You're right, tight space but very clean and functional
Hi Bangkok 112, great vlog! Question: Going to Pattaya in Jan.2017 do i have to book in advance or just take my chances to find a place to stay that is central and reasonable priced?
Interesting for small budget. How many days in advance is it better to make the reservation in general?
hey Bangkok 112, thanks for the tip! I finally made it to BKK and booked some of your recommendations from the link on your website.. Ruamchitt Plaza was great! Free WIFI in the room, super fast. You get a login with password when you check in. Thanks for watching.
Wow awesome. Thanks for the videos. You guys who do these vlogs don't realise how much it's helps people.
Another great review, thanks!
Nice and clean. But wont stay there as too small. No balcony. No pool .. ?
I'll be in pattaya this new years eve and even before this video we already booked this hotel 😜
How many ladies did you fit in the room????
hi mate i have a request im coming in march to thailand and i wanted to know which hotel is best and guestfriend in bkk near soi cowboy and nana plaza cause im staying 12 days in bkk and 3 weeks in phuket and if u knew a nice guest friendly hotel also in phuket

nice review , B112 , deffo a 2 night only stay hotel reminds me of Asoke suites in BKK I use when only want 1 night in BKK on way to airport
is it ladies friendly ??
I 've stayed there from 18-20 October 2017. Nice places. I'm enjoyed it.
I question Red Planet is guest friend can stay in the bed?
Have many good reviews at Tripadvisor so its a very popular hotel I think.
I paid $26 at flipper hotel on soi 8/beach rd . Low season Nice room in middle of action. But not loud in room.
m great video Kate always wondered if red pepper w girl friendly.. very cheap spot
Decided to treat myself on my first visit to the siam siam design, I did spot the red planet & was considering it for the next trip, no balcony & fridge is a shame. Price great & location could not be better ( soi 6 & the soapies!!)
Nice room, a bit small but tidy & organized.

Love watching your videos man. Ive been to Thailand so many times and watching the videos brings back so many good memories ;) What is your favorite place girl/club wise? Pattaya, Bkk or Fuckit?
I like them all but if I had to choose one it would be Pattaya for the sheer volume of bars/girls. Thanks for watching :)
How about safety in case of fire in such a high building.
I stayed in Hat Yai's red planet hotel and room are same like you showed in your video but the Hat Yai one is expensive than Pattaya.
Stayed at RP Cebo Philippines, was fine, but to get the good rate you must book on Agoda. I would stay at this one for sure.
outstanding, I cant wait to visit
0:06 yogurt body massages????
Never heard before
Stayed there 3 times. Not family hotel definitely, but ideal for lone wolfs ))
اعجبني الفندق لانني تصفحة صور الفندق ولكن لم اتعرف على اسعاره
سعره رخيص انا اخذت ٣ ايام ١٩١ ريال تلقاه في تطبيق المسافر
*I thought Sabai Room was the worst soapy. Old interior and smokey atmosphere*
lol "No Durians" sticker on the elevator, are they really that smelly?
Room is too small for me, thanks.
I dig the smoking area near the dumpsters.. there you go :D
It's nice you can bring prozzies back.
Looks EXACTLY like every other Red Planet I've ever stayed in... Always clean and guest-friendly. Just wish they would put refrigerator under the other table. Always enjoy your vids 112...

"BOOB" as the code for the safe. I like your style
I stayed in another hotel recently that had a 6 digit safe code. I had to change the code to BOOOOB :)
gakenh01
you guys should really lookinto guesthouses, Im staying at one thats like 600b/night and its bigger than any hotelroom.
Guesthouses generally are too small to recommend to the masses, and are not easy to book in advance online. Thanks for watching.
a fridge in the room would've been great. but looks good !
Jasmine Hotel, Soi BJ. Same price, huge room, in middle of all the action.
Good review. The hotel is what it is for the price.
p
"WTF" (8:00 min.) means something totally different here in the states. lol
Very nice hotel at that price. I am too late to book, I have already booked at Nova platinum. I will try next time,
I don't fancy red planet the rooms are clean but very small , I like a sitting area in my hotel room
Clean toilet, shower for two and nearby Micky D's - good hotel in my book.
TiCLer you are in the center of fine Asian food and you eat at Mickey D's?
what you mean by guest friendly......and if not you would not stay there
No charge to bring back a lady if you stay alone. Thanks for watching.
it means monger friendly
Hookers...
Just booked for my second trip, Very affordable. Hope I will have a good stay.
Good man, have a great trip! :)
Well done!
Guest friendly I presume...

Budget with a huge B. The rooms even dont have any fridge.
Location my friend. The bed and shower were 4/5 star too. Thanks for watching.
Bangkok 112 A very good video. Thanks.
I agree, have never stayed at hotel in Thailand without a fridge, even cheaper budget hotels have a fridge as you will want a cold drink of water or a nice cold beer after coming back to the hotel especially with the humid weather in Thailand.
it's expensive😨 ,you can't find rooms for 250 or 300 pesos 😇
Much more expensive in 2017. 1000 baht for a room for a month.
Very nice review. The locale, price, friendliness (no fees), working fan, aircon and cheap breakfast make it worth it. You did not mention if the food was tasty or not... No fridge, that's kind of a downer.
Too small. Not good.
still cheap showing up betwen £14-£20 cheapest rates
only for poor farangs
Wont stay here. Its clean but too small and not good enough . No fridge ? Big NO.
Another thing, do not compare Japan and Pattaya. Stayed at Banthai resort Phuket for $100+ per night. It was so goooddddddd.
Depressingly small, no thanks
This hotel sucks ... the worst receptionists I ever met in Thailand! ...
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
