    One pointer I’ve got from installing this car seat - utilising this excellent video - and that I can’t see in the comments so far - is that the car seat will only clip in to the base when it is side or rear facing. My base plate was spun to be front facing - and the seat wouldn’t clip in at all. I totally understand that this is a safety feature so that the baby travels facing the correct way - but also it was worrying when I was just testing out just shortly prior to his arrival - and thought I was going to have to buy a whole new travel system 😂 Hope this helps anyone else currently swearing at their seat to “JUST ***** CLIP IN!” ❤

    Thanks Baby Lady! We just got this setup as our first carseat and base. I couldn’t find any information on any official Cybex site conserning the wiggle and light movement of the base/seat when installed in the car. Seeing this video made me a bit more assured of the safety. We do get all three green signs.

      I'm here watching the video for this exact reason. I have just bought and tested for our baby in 3 weeks. It definitely didn't feel right but this has confirmed the slight movement is fine!

    Thanks. However the base definitely need to be closer to the back of the seat. Maybe it was just for the purpose of the video because the is too much gap here and far too much wiggle. The back plate you mention is what prevents the base and therefore the seat to bounce up in the event of an accident. It is the opposite of the leg which prevents the base and seat to dive. It needs to be at least one more notch closer. Best way to do it is to move the base side way left-right and it will automatically click one more notch on each side and be perfectly secure. No risk to intent your seat as the area is wide, all the more if you have a seat cover.

      In the car we use the base is up against the back at the bottom and can't be moved closer at the top due to the shape of the car seat.

  • @congzhang3437
    @congzhang3437 2 года назад

    To unstuck it: Our was stuck to the base and if you look under the handle there's a small spring and a mechanism to pull a small cable that frees the seat. I manage to pull back the small cable with the hammer head within the grip of the handle and it unstuck it. It's really hard to get there so I used floss to get and pull the cable by the hammer head. Hope this helps.

    Actually there are two isofix indicators located on the side of the base, where you extend the "claws". The indicators in front of the base are for 1. Rotating plate 2. Leg of the base and 3. The actual seat locking mechanism.

      @@paulc8414 Could you please elaborate? I couldn’t find that. The leg is not even locking in the “storage” position, banging my own legs while I transport the base. What a stupid design. Did any of the Cybex designers travel at all with their children of they just install the base once. When. it in use the leg can’t stay in place and is constantly blipping. I am wondering how to do in an airport. A tie down strap could be a solution but so disappointing for such a pricey setup.

    I have to say this video lacks a bit of detail . When you put the rear forks in to latch onto the rods in the seat, you have to check there is a Green indicator on both sides, then I would Rock it back an forth across the seat and that would "Rachet" it in nice an tight, then put the front leg down till its tight. I would have it so tight you move the whole car rather than have any movement in the seat alone.
