- In this video I go over the Top 7 Worst LEGO Star Wars Investments of All Time! Every single LEGO Star Wars set featured on this list is retired. If you had invested in any of these Star Wars LEGO Sets at retail price you would have lost a LOT of money.
In this video I also explain why I believe these retired LEGO Star Wars sets have been such terrible LEGO investments. Some of those reasons why include, poor minfigure selection, being incredibly overpriced, and having zero demand from LEGO Star Wars collectors and investors.

Even after many years of these LEGO Star Wars sets retiring for good. They are still selling on eBay for well below their retail price to this day. Not all of these sets are bad, such as the Resistance Y-Wing 75249. Which is actually has a really nice build! While other Star Wars LEGO sets like the Jyn Erso Buildable figure have NO redeeming qualities.

I think a Kylo Ren or First Order Stormtrooper helmet set would do good.
There won't be any because that reason and lego likes to focus on the relevant content. So that means the mandalorian. Ahsoka, andor, anything that's current lego is gonna do.

It’s wild how detailed the first order minifigures were compared to what we get for clones and other stuff nowadays
It's so funny that out of these seven sets, four of them are about the rise of Skywalker, this shows how much people care about that film and the whole Disney's trilogy.
tbf, stuff was selling very well after the first 2 films, and they were still in fact releasing sets for the first 2 films even after they debuted. TLJ polarized some fans but there was actually still a larger portion of fans that liked it and were excited for what could come next. and then ROS decided to pander to the group they polarized and ended up with basically everyone hating it because it's just a fan-service movie with no real movie in it.

@@stoopidapples1596Completely false. ROS only pandered to the general audiences and they liked it. It's way less hated than TLJ ever was. Also Hasbro actually reported that 2019 December was really successful for star wars toys so you are wrong on that too.
As a Lego buyer, I personally love to see sets go down in value so I can buy them cheaper😅

The AT-ST raider was invested in like crazy after Carano was fired, I thought.
Yea people bought them up like crazy then, because the Cara Dune minifigure spiked in value briefly. With the strong sales the set was kept in production longer and you can still snag it at retail on Amazon even now. I bought one on there for $27 on sale.

I believe it was the actual reason, yes. People thought that after she got fired, the Cara Dune minifigure would be exclusive to the set, but then it came with Gideon's cruiser and well...
The ATST is a fine build. And it will retain its value...but won't go up.
I feel like there’s something wrong with me but I genuinely liked half the starship sets on this list. I might as well buy a couple because of the massive price decrease on the second hand market.
I got some of them not too long after they came out and converted them into something better than what they originally were. So, they're good for that.

That and the Jyn erso are the only things that should be on this list like I literally do not find any of the sets on the actual list to be bad except for Jyn Erso
I got the TIE dagger, spent a long time making changes that I felt improved it, now the dagger I have sitting on my shelf is barely similar to the original set.
I saw the buildable Jin Erso figure in clearance at Walmart today lol
As weird as some of the buildable figures look, ngl, I've always had a massive soft spot for them. There's just something super sleek and neat about how they look. I'm going to miss lego buildable figures, as odd as they could be
I remember that for my bday my brother got me two D-O sets, because they were on clearance for like 5$ or 10$ 😂
2:45 One correction. The fact that Gina Carano (Cara dune's actor) was fired from the show was the reason that people thought the set would skyrocket in price, since at the time, it wasn't known if Cara dune would've been in the imperial light cruiser, so people thought this set was gonna be the only way to get her. I guess the same goes for the mandalorian, but he also later showed up in the Razor Crest.

Yeah but you're still better off buying sets that are well liked and will appreciate in value.
Personally the Resistence Y-Wing wasn't a bad investment, in my area it was like, $55, while the Poe X-Wing was $90.
Also, it fits in perfectly with my other Rebel ships, which both have red markings (X-Wing and A-Wing).
This would be a good series to help people fond affordable sets that weren't originally

After canceling Cara Dune her minifigure is gonna be unique. Why set is losing price?
1. If you think something is over priced and you buy it, thats on you.
2. Investments can go up as well as down. It's a well known phrase. If you buy anything as an investment you take the risk

Jyn Erso's head is pretty good for a buildable figure, though. It could work well in a MOC. The upcoming 2023 Marvel Summer sets look even worse...

Are people paying full retail for investment stock sets? I don't think I've ever paid more than 70% of retail for investment purchases. Ex: I got all my Resistance Y-Wings for $36-$42, so even at $60 they're doing okay.
I actually found Jyn in a store two weeks ago 😂 for 10 dollars and still no one bought it

In 20 years time these sets will be worth a lot of money just because they will be wanted then and hard to get as everyone will have used up all the Lego or threw it out and them parts that make it unique will be hard to get someday like the maybe even 25 years time so hold on there people wait a generation ok not three or four years lol

Tbh most of the rise of Skywalker sets aren't bad, I think the biggest reason they're bad investments are cause literally no one likes that movie so don't want sets from it

I think the real problem aside from the garbage sequels as far as movies go, is that Lego didn’t actually make good worthwhile sets of what could’ve been some pretty badass sets as far as looks and display ability go

This list made me very happy :) In my world, only the two original triologies are Star Wars, all the rest are spin offs that don't count.

Her actress, Gina Carano, started tweeting in favor of Republican policies shortly after her character's debut. Disney/Lucasfilm fired her to save face, and now she only finds work with conservative entertainment distributors like Daily Wire.

Disney bought a literal money making machine from George Lucas, then proceeded to muck it up to the point where they don't even make toys based on anything Disney Star Wars, aside from the Mandalorian (which has taken a hit recently too).
I think the new movie with Rey is never going to happen, for many reasons. Least of which is because they'll never be able to sell merch from it.
