Really well done! I like it. How long does the acrylic paint last on the fabric? I have not painted straight acrylic on spandex before, I always expect it to crack and peel from the major moving points (knuckles, wrist). Just curious.
Odin Makes oh hi senpai! I've found that as long as I paint while wearing it, there isn't much cracking since I'm already stretching it as far as it will go for the most part. Also kind of depends on the brand, I'm using the brand Golden in 3 layers and it hasn't budged at all. I've also found that it actually sinks into thin stretch fabrics better than when I'm using it to cover vinyl or leather!
Hendo Art - I love the fact you paint it while wearing it, wish I was that dexterous, I find if I am trying it that way my hand I am doing it on shakes slightly to get anything done that looks straight. In this case would Plasti dip or a vinyl spray undercoat work to eliminate the cracking when using the acrylic? Oh and excellent work by the way, found you via Odin and subbed ! :)
A plastidip undercoat will also crack once you put it on, so it's better to just paint it while stretched. If you can't wear it, you can usually just stretch it over something, like a spray paint can or a wine bottle! Something that matches the thickness of your arm!
I've watched this tutorial at least 50 times. Today I will be making my attempt at this. Thank you again so much. This video was very straight forward and simple, especially after having watched it so many times lol.
i could watch you for hours. and all i can think is that you dad is the luckiest dude on earth. christmas shopping for your daughter at home depot, power tools on every occasion. midnight calls because of technical problems... thats the dream.
I saw the video go up and quickly went shopping. Started making my arm by following your video. So far I put 8 hours in and I've been eyeballing the whole time. You make this look so easy. I lost myself somewhere and have to fix it but I hope I can get it all right for comic con in 3 weeks
When doing small details, I'll need to steady one hand with the other. Otherwise, it looks all wobbly. Too much coffee? I don't think I'd be able to do my own arm, without cheating somehow.
Literally I want John Brolin and Ryan Reynolds to see this so bad. This is absolutely amazing. Would you ever be willing to make a Winter Soldier arm? I would love to see how you do it
Thanks for the inspirational tutorial, only thing is i wished the elbow joint section hadnt been time lapsed as its been the biggest challenge for me building my custom cyber arm, (luckily ive not glued it together yet) so ive taken inspiration from you and ordered some magnets, keep up the awesome videos 👍
Yo I know this is a few years later but great work, I’m wanting to make a costume for a cyborg type character I have in my head and this fits the style really well. I’m excited to try this soon!
AAH thank you! I needed this videolike 2 weeks ago when i was making my 4 year olds Cable costume to go see the movie. He's named Kable so he was super excited to see who he was named after finally, as was I... I just slapped together random shapes because i couldn't find any decent reference pictures. Now I'll have to try again with this video. 💜
Kinda late to the party, but I love your ARM! It's so cool, and I really want to make something like that for my Planetside 2 Cosplay. I was wondering if you had some more pictures when you were constructing the body of the arm, it would make mimicking the patterns a little easier if that's possible. Again, excellent work!
Great video. I'm thinking about making my two year old son cable and making a juggernaut costume for myself, to display the size difference between the two characters in the movie. Thanks for making this video. Great job
I'm making my infinity gauntlet after been amazed with your tutorial and now I need magnets. I'm going to wear infinity gauntlet with Cable metallic arm XD
I'm gonna be sad if there's not at least one shot of Cable's green sleeve in the movie. I also need a head injury dream sequence where Cable is Keira Knightly.
I saw the movie last week and Cable definitely doesn't have any green sleeve or green on his arm. I believe those were paparazzi sneak photos pre-production :P It was used for CGI marking only
Absolutely amazing! I know it's a long shot being 4 years late, but with the sleeve, did you sew/make it yourself? Or do you think a morph suit arm would do?
I sewed mine because in a 5ft tall lady so gloves don't come in my size, most important thing is that it fits well and is taught (not too many wrinkles) so stretch is best for that
Do you have tips for transferring it all to foam? At 1:04, you have a lot more pieces there than the original tape. Did you cut those free hand to add depth to the arm?
Amazing!! (as most of your projects always are :) Giving this a shot for an upcoming Con. really silly question but where did you find the "sleeve/glove" to paint? got the rest of the times exactly from your list, but I'm no where near the level of talent you have (this will be my first).
Awesome video!! Maybe winter soldier’s arm? I have not been able to find a good video to recreate it and by how your cable arm looks I feel like you can kill it with bucky!
Magnets! GENIUS! I always had a hard time deciding on how to make a good elbow cyborg joint that doesn't look gaudy. Magnets are great! Where did you get yours?
I would like to copy your idea but because I am blind in my right eye, I must switch sides and put the arm and the eye on my right. I am an artist as well and have been wanting to do this project for a while.
Really well done! I like it.

Good question
Yea, very good question, plz answer.

I'm glad you like it and I hope it turns out great!!!

I am honestly impressed by your one-handed painting. The arm looks great!
Do most people paint with two? Genuine question lol I haven't watched many people paint!
When doing small details, I'll need to steady one hand with the other. Otherwise, it looks all wobbly. Too much coffee?
I don't think I'd be able to do my own arm, without cheating somehow.
Finally, someone else who understands you cant just have shading and need highlights too!
Could you public some templates for the cables arm ? Please im not really someone good drawing and youre arm is amazing
Yes, please!
Fantastic Hendoart! You made magic happen with Cable's arm. It's a beautiful and functional piece of art.
That painted sleeve idea will help me save a lot of time and effort with the kid's Ed Elrick she wants to do.
Literally I want John Brolin and Ryan Reynolds to see this so bad. This is absolutely amazing. Would you ever be willing to make a Winter Soldier arm? I would love to see how you do it
I dunno why, but when I see you're workin with tubes, foam and black paint this kinda reminds me... Alien?
Dude me too, I think people use the same thing for that cosplay too!
H R Giger loved industrial piping but then again who doesn't.
I love Cable throughout Marvel, and you did great job with this! Also great ideas for Cyberpunk 2077 (as well as 2013, 2020 and Red) bionic arm ideas
You've done an amazing job Hendo.
Absolutely AWESOME!
Wow! That costume is insane! Fantastic job on the arm. Love the tubing/cables.
Outstanding work, it really helped me with some ideas. This was your 1st video that I have seen. I subscribed and definitely sharing.
So awesome and great work! I may have to try this setup for my arm for my Cable cosplay.
That’s amazing. Gotta be the best cable cosplay arm I’ve seen!
Thank you so much Q_Q
Oh my goodness! It feels like you're coming from a freaking awesome action movie! Well done!

Yo I know this is a few years later but great work, I’m wanting to make a costume for a cyborg type character I have in my head and this fits the style really well. I’m excited to try this soon!

Kinda late to the party, but I love your ARM! It's so cool, and I really want to make something like that for my Planetside 2 Cosplay. Yeah real good work I appreciate the efforts you’ve put in
Thank you so much!!!
You are awesome!! keep these tutorials coming!
You just make it looks so easy
Aside from working with magnets, this build is actually easier than it looks! And magnets are only hard because they always want to jump away hahaha
I'm making my infinity gauntlet after been amazed with your tutorial and now I need magnets. I'm going to wear infinity gauntlet with Cable metallic arm XD
Excellent ,great job
I'm wondering about the extra pieces of foam you created. Was that just to hold the foam in place with magnets. I'm a little lost there.
HENDO! Damn amazing stuff!
very well done!!!
Amazing work! What I wanted to work on! Thanks!
Subbed! I would think your subs would be higher! I hope to see it climb.
wow this is phenomenal!!!
This one was super good
Thank you!
Amazing I love your work
@Hendo This is awesomely dope! Do you have downloadable templates for this arm?
I'm gonna be sad if there's not at least one shot of Cable's green sleeve in the movie. I also need a head injury dream sequence where Cable is Keira Knightly.
I feel like the whole credits roll should just be sh*t like this lol I'd be so happy!
I saw the movie last week and Cable definitely doesn't have any green sleeve or green on his arm. I believe those were paparazzi sneak photos pre-production :P It was used for CGI marking only
This is really good!
Amazing results!!

I've been tinkering for literally months for a way of making an elbow articulation, thank you so much! Any other tips?
Superb , thank you for sharing
Absolutely amazing! I know it's a long shot being 4 years late, but with the sleeve, did you sew/make it yourself? Or do you think a morph suit arm would do?
I sewed mine because in a 5ft tall lady so gloves don't come in my size, most important thing is that it fits well and is taught (not too many wrinkles) so stretch is best for that
Awesome job!

Always love your creations! Amazing video and loving the Cosplay.
Suggestion: Edward Elric Right Arm and Leg 😁
Al and Ed are def some dream cosplays of mine!
@@HendoArt it would be amazing. I love Ling and Lan Fan as well. My friend wants me to cosplay Roy Mustang though. Lol
Do you have tips for transferring it all to foam? At 1:04, you have a lot more pieces there than the original tape. Did you cut those free hand to add depth to the arm?
Please help! Haha I'm stuck on getting the sizes right, but im using up so much foam just going free hand trying to make all the other peices
Muy buen trabajo. Genia y hermosa 😍
Nice job!
Amazing
Brava! Brava! 💋
Amazing.
Did you buy the "ammo vest" or make it?? Looking for something similar. I'd love to know where you got the accessories for this one! This is amazing.
Amazing!! (as most of your projects always are :) Giving this a shot for an upcoming Con. really silly question but where did you find the "sleeve/glove" to paint? got the rest of the times exactly from your list, but I'm no where near the level of talent you have (this will be my first).
You should do a tutorial on the rest of the cosplay!
Awesome video!! Maybe winter soldier’s arm? I have not been able to find a good video to recreate it and by how your cable arm looks I feel like you can kill it with bucky!
Make a right hand of doom from Hellboy
Magnets! GENIUS! I always had a hard time deciding on how to make a good elbow cyborg joint that doesn't look gaudy. Magnets are great! Where did you get yours?
I use Magnets 4 Less or K&S Magnets usually! Good for bulk since the shipping is expensive for magnets in general
I would like to copy your idea but because I am blind in my right eye, I must switch sides and put the arm and the eye on my right. I am an artist as well and have been wanting to do this project for a while.
Your how-to is awesome!!
But what is the molle chest rig called ?
Been searching for hours and can not seem to find anything similar
this is crazy
impressive!
