    Feels to me that the controlling played a big part in it as well. You simply cannot slow a jet from 220 to 180 in a few seconds, especially on an approach. The controller had them going fast until minimum separation, then expected them to slow on a dime.

    Since I started watching your channel, I realized my fear of incidents was greatly misplaced. I was only worried about incidents on the ascent and cruising altitude. The ascent because it seemed like takeoff emergencies were more anomalous and frequent. And cruising altitude, because if you're going down, you have way more time to think about it.
    Now, even though the statistical odds remain in my favor. I'm more worried about the pilots, proper maintenance, good engineering, and the descent more than anything.
    Anyways, great video, always anticipating more uploads!

    Outstanding video. This was a new case to me. It’s amazing that a pilot wouldn’t recognize that each type of plane can have a different feel and make sure they were thoroughly trained, especially with VIPs on board. I’m glad there’s a colonel or higher with lots of experience that flies the POTUS. 😀

    Just want to comment. I found this channel just browsing. I think it's awesome your doing this, a final legacy to those killed, but to show the few times where skilled airmanship prevailed so it can be parsed.
    Personally, I actually had a great uncle who was a RACF F/O during WW2 who flew an Airspeed Oxford into high tension cables that crossed the river Ness outside of Inverness doing unauthorized low-level maneuvers on Oct 24th, 1944. Astonishing to read the inquiry. Aircraft disintegrated so he was thrown clear into the river and pulled out alive. Somehow he was still conscious but died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.

    Wake Turbulence makes more of a difference than it may seem.
    The B767 is probably 5-6x larger & 12x the mass of the comparatively tiny lear jet.
    Clearly the pilots were taken by surprise - sometimes there are "cockpit hijinks" going on, simple inattention or even the more experienced Captain using the toilet while the inexperienced co-pilot faces the crisis, unprepared.
    Something like this probably occurred with tragic results.
    God rest those lost so suddenly in Him !

    • @scuffed3408
      @scuffed3408 5 лет назад +2

      Wake turbulence is turbulence caused by air disruption from another planes wings. They usually make rapidly spiraling pockets of air. The smaller the plane is the more it will be effected, especially from a large plane like the 767 that was in front of them.

    Flight schools shouldn't be allowed to train pilots if they're not going to properly train them in how to safely fly a plane. And they sure as hell shouldn't be allowed to issue fake training documents to pilots. That's hardly fair to those who want to hire them to pilot a plane full of passengers.
