Don't forget to find your local rescue group. I run a network of volunteer-based off-road recovery groups on Facebook. Search your state's name with 4X4 RESCUE at the end.
If you don't use Facebook go to offroadportal.org and they can network on your behalf.
Lastly, show some love to another RUclips channel called Alpine Redneck Rescue. He's also a Rhino Ambassador.
I like your videos all the time I watch your videos all the time you’re very my favorite show❤
Awesome video. The wife and I did our first snow to uncle Toms cabin for the toy drive. It was Awesome. I was amazed that my truck didn't get stuck coming out of uncle Tom's.
Man you travel all over America!! Thank you for the videos!
Glad you like them!
Aww had to show my jeep lol. My jeep wasn't stuck. It was resting 😴 lol
Snowy off-road is great👍👍👍👍
Come snow wheeling in North Idaho! Thanks for sharing 🎉
I would love to, I’m sure I’ll make it out there one day
awesome vid. Im trying to finish my jeep to get up there before the snow melts this yr. i will say it's sad that people will gain traction and momentum getting out of a ditch and then let off. gotta stay in it, especially if you're coming out.
I've only been to Uncle Tom's in the summer on motorcycle runs, looks like there's more people there in the winter than summer. Guess I'll have to try a winter run.
Hahaha, I was thinking that jeep in the thumbnail, was an rc. So I had to watch it to see all the awesomeness!!! Thanks for sharing!!! 😎
25 years ago my two buds and I wheeled my YJ and a Yota to Uncle Tom’s cabin for my 21 birthday. They were serving bear stew and plenty of icy Budweisers..good times.
I was up on MET Sunday, it was full white out conditions, super rad!
Snow wheeling is great. Good video. I can’t wait to finish my project to get back on the trails.
Like always, good info on what to do in different situations
Looks like a good time! I was just out snowwheeling and it amazes me how many people don’t bring the proper gear!
Great video! So cool to see you out here helping people where I live. There's was a lot of snow this weekend! Wish I could go do that.
The picture looks like a typical snowy day in the GTA where the cool 4x4s are stuck in the ditch whilst the grannies are tooteling along getting their prescriptions filled without going in the ditch! I suspect it isn't the fault of the 4x4 but the drivers!
If you like pushing your limits and playing in the ditches, you end up getting stuck. That’s how you know what your vehicle is capable of 👍
Beautiful scenery and some good wheeling can't beat that
Personally, I think that recovery is one of the best parts of snow wheeling
Looks fun I live in the Oregon cascades and it’s on its way for 2023 and of course I’m a Jeep owner and can’t wait to see what my wife’s 2024 4xe Willy’s can do lol
Don't forget your shovel, make sure the wench works, recovery gear, and lots of friends. Food, blankets, and save the beer for after the run.
Definitely, I even bring saws and fire logs.
You have the beast of the group that's for sure
That XJ was huge, he got through some pretty deep stuff.
Wish we had that here in nc …. Looks like a good time!
RC Trucks and Snow ❄ wheelin, = AWESOMENESS!!! Monster Tires, minimal weight and as much horsepower as possible!!! 😈
GOOD TIRES IS A MUST IN SNOW
This is an awesome channel. My older brother lives up in Placerville he told me about uncle Tom’s cabin and then he sent this link for your RUclips video. I’m hooked
Thanks man 👍
Neat video. Some serious snow rescues but lots of rigs to help. Would not want to be stuck there alone without help though. Short tow rope tip is helpful. Thanks for sharing.
It is interesting to watch how off-road vehicles scurry around in the snow. Especially since I don't have it. But in my opinion - when there is snow and winter time comes: 1) you must put on all 4 winter tires, 2) when there is already a lot of snow, you need to put chains on these winter tires. This helps a lot even on regular cars, even rear wheel drive. So my guess is that if everyone in the video used chains, you could reduce the number of rescues and tows by 90%. But you just wanted to fool around in the snow...
Chains don’t work well in deep snow. It’s better to air down super low and try to stay on top. There’s no way you will make contact with the ground when it’s 3-6’ deep. If you’re driving on road ways with 1-2’ sure, but not when you’re dealing with several feet. I suppose if it was already packed down and iced over chains would help but even then they like to dig down.
@@4x4rescue74 I agree that I have not tried the snow chains in very deep snow, as in your case, when the snow is above the wheel. But even about one or two inches you said something strange. With such a thickness of snow, chains are usually not set up, unless it is already the thickness of a rolled dense crust or icy coating, along which the chains cannot dig to solid ground. The essence of the chain is to provide a much higher grip of the wheel with the surface. It can be so strong when the wheels hit the ground that the instructions say not to put much on accelerator, otherwise you can break the drive shaft in some cases. But judging by your video: all your tires are wide and not winter at all. Just tires for mud and dirt? The tire depressurization method you mentioned is known and also comes from driving on sand and soft ground. In snow, the opposite is recommended - not wide, but narrow tires (so the contact patch with a slippery surface is smaller for sliding, and the mass per unit area is higher, and for snow and ice it is preferable from the point of view of physics, so the general recommendation is to use tires one size for winter narrower, not wider) and in some cases the release of pressure also helps, I agree. But, I repeat, I use chains on two simple weak sedans when the snow falls 10-20 cm. And for the sake of interest, of course, I drove with chains through snowdrifts 30-40 cm high, but not a meter, as in your video. But still - none of the best winter tires in the world, even with a pressure lowered to 1 bar, will not provide such grip as even the cheapest snow chain on the same tire. Even in a meter deep snow. Just take any of the SUVs from the video next time, put narrow factory wheels on it again, but preferably with winter tires, put chains on all 4 wheels and you will be surprised at how it will drive in deep snow. Maybe not perfect due to the ground clearance (not all SUVs are good at pushing snow under the bottom due to their design), but much better than what you would expect.
Looks like fun and it's so pretty when it snows!
Good to see you back man!
Looks like you had a lot of fun lot of rescues and recoveries great job be careful
Good grief, I hate winter and all the problems it brings. You guys create your own messes and enjoy it! Crazy.
Lmao, when you’re prepared it’s fun. If you’re not prepared it’s a nightmare. I chase these storms and look for the bad roads, hoping to find someone stuck.
@@4x4rescue74 I guess it could be when yer prepared, sure some nice looking rigs rolling up there! Cheers
Great tip there on the short rope for pulling someone out of a ditch....you probably passed by my home off 193 in Cool!!!
Didnt know you had a RUclips. This just came on my feed. I have the rhino rope. 6 soft shackles and the utv wheel tie downs. Havent had an issue from any of them. Great video.
try this one day....one pull from the front and another recovery strap or rope for the rear, pull in a v shape and it can slide the vehicle almost directly sideways when both recovery vehicles pull on the rope, have the recovered vehicle punch it and it makes it slide sideways in return pulling the v shape recovery strap straight....up to 6 foot sideways motion.....great for ledges and steep grades or hillsides...
Great video with the change over from sand and mud to snow!
Hell ya looks fun. Good job on helping everyone.
New keep looking good! Keep up the good work.👍
That's a sick little pickup
This was a fun video and I hope you do more videos like this. Playing in the snow would definitely be a lot of fun
Heading up this weekend to check out the cabin with this week storm. I’m sure the snow is going to be insane.
how was it? Was it still doable?
Awesome new ride! Can't wait to see what you're up to next! Be safe out there!
Friggin love snow!
Love my rhino gear!
So I'm a big fan of Matt off-roading Rory's Terminator but I like seeing trees in my videos and it's been a long time since I've been in the snow been a long time since I played in the snow I wish I could go back I wish I could go back this is my first video of yours I've watched I'm going to view the others I have subscribed thanks for the content
That looks fun!
Bad A$$ bro!! Gotta love snow wheeling!!
Super video!
It was a really good video.. Big snow and cool cars were presented.. I also have a 1994 Grand Cherokee and I go everywhere I want and I really want to go with you... Unfortunately, I live far from you...
Love the videos my guy keep them coming hopefully get to see you out there one day! But love how you keep your cool unlike some guys that get pissed because they have to wait on someone!
Yeah some people get stressed out when they’re stuck.
There's these things called tracks you can bolt on to replace your tires. Don't tell me wheels are more fun, either. Lol.
One day, they’re expensive tho
Snow recoveries are the coolest! Solid entertaining content!
This vid just randomly popped up in my feed......subbed!
Круть !!!!! Wrangler просто мощь 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
"Ditches love jeeps" not sure why my brain referenced that another way 😆
Works both ways 👍
Badass little yota!
Dam looks like you could do like 50 recoverys in one day there. Wonder what the world record is ?? 🤣😂
Welcome to Stuck Fest USA
Looks like an awesome time!!
10:47 "Ditches Love Jeeps" 🤣
Would have loved to have been out there in my TJR. Awesome vid, subbbed
Thanks for the sub!
driving in that snow looks brutal!
That's some snow!
Not bad for the first real storm of the year. By January and February it will likely be 10-15’ deep
I lived in grass valley for years and in Sacramento now so it's awesome to see my old spots in videos! I used to wheel on those same roads you just went on, such a blast!!
Awesome footage bro! Looking forward to the rest of the Winter!
It's hard to see how awesome these guys and their jeeps are, when my front yard looks like what they are struggling to drive through which I drive through every day in my Toyota Camry. It's the driver not the vehicle.
Your Camry can drive through 3-4’ of snow?
@@4x4rescue74 there was never even more than one ft of snow it the video. Do you have a concept of how deep three to four ft is?
Great Video! Subscribed!
I made the cut in the first scene! :)
You must like a good challenge to be at 40 PSI in that kind of snow. hehe
Great video
I liked seeing traction boards used. Could you explain/demo the best way to use them in different situations like snow, mud, sand....
I’m already planning on it
Glad to see you all finally getting some good snow! Have fun and stay safe!
Beautiful snowwwwww
What’s really funny is I didn’t see one Chevrolet get stuck so that tells you how much Joe jeep his jeep has no wait there’s so light they can’t go in the snow get you a good old 95 to 9799 Chevy suburban then you can play in the snow don’t worry about getting stuck
I'm hoping to get a kinetic rope and soft shackle for Xmas. I told the wife I wanted a Rhino kinetic rope and Rhino soft shackles.🤞
🤞
Awesome video man, keep em coming from reno nv
Suggest you all obtain a full set of STUDDED TIRE CHAINS... Loss of traction is your problem... you got the tires and lockers but no traction.
It’s uncommon to see people running tire chains in several feet of snow. Chains like to dig down, if it was under 2’ they would work well. Airing down super low keeps you on top of the deep stuff
Ya buddy!!
I'm guessing tyre chains aren't allowed in that area...? It should be a necessity !!
40 psi how much does that rig weigh. When i put new tires on my Cherokee. I wet the tread with a squirt bottle . Drove forward and measured the wet spot on the garage floor. Aired down untill they match the tread with. Found 26 psi front and 24 in the rear was were i needed to be. Rides really nice. But im only like 3280 pounds on 33s.
I run around 30-33 in my JKU but the JT seems to handle better around 40. With all the gear and metal bumpers, skids and sliders the JK is around 5,500lb, I would imagine the JT is similar
Great video. 😊 But I don't think that air compressor is airing those big tires back up to 40psi from 9psi. 😊 Maybe you should time it. 😊 I say about 2:30 to 3:00ish. 😊 Love my rhino gear. 😊
Yeah, probably closer to 1.5/2min
I’m usually quite envious of anyone who’s playing in deep snow but that windy rain/ snow mix made me glad to be sitting in my living room. One question… what’s with that Ram having to be towed at the beginning? Was it on an incline on ice?
Lol, yeah several vehicles got stuck there. Little bit of an incline with sloppy, slick snow. Plus, he wasn’t aired down at all.
The great thing about using tire chains is that they work a lot better than whatever you guys are doing. In these kinds of various deep snow, slush, and ice conditions, tire chains on my Chevy solve many handling and traction problems that I've seen while doing off road vehicle recoveries in Colorado.
Some guys run chains but it’s not common when you’re dealing with several feet of snow. We usually only get stuck when we’re playing in the berms. Chains like to dig down, airing down super low helps keep you on top. Hard to run chains when you’re airing down to 5-10psi.
@@4x4rescue74 Shouldn't need to air down with STUDDED chains... In fact I air down to put on my chains on than air up to snug up the chains.
Clearly these 2 clowns think they know it all in the comments. In this video. Clearly this guy knows what' he is doing. Every one likes to internet bash.
I would like to know when you head back up there. Looks like a lot of fun. Hit me up.
@@4x4rescue74 in all my years off roading I’m the snow, it’s better to have chains with you than not. Especially if you don’t have tires you can air down to 5-10 psi.
@@captseamuschains aren’t going to do anything in 3 foot of snow my guy. Chains are more for ice. Not great in snow
Y'all are CRAZY!! 🤣🤣
Hell yeah nice dude
That stock 4 runner w no snow tire on is uh... out of its league.
I'm too old for snow. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Awesome
Where you been ? Looks like a fun day.
I had a rc channel as well. It was called Mud Digger RC
I got cheated out of snow this year. I think I have a self recovery video with my GT Sport all stock a few years back. Funny how jeeps are capable out of the door if you got a little bit of skill.
That gray XJ 😍
Does he have a RUclips or Instagram that you know of?
@austintremewan
People get stuck by how they drive, 😂 the guy was almost out and went too slow once you build momentum that is 🔑part of it.....!!
i like watching it but wouldn't want to be there i'm from Alabama snow doesn't work well here. i do pretty good when it snows but i am equipped for it most aren't i usually stay home unless get called out to help someone
Now that's funny a Toyota pulling a dodge pick up
Maybe it's because I live close to there but people just can't drive lol
When it comes to snow-wheeling, are the deeper lug tires better than tires that are triple peak rated? I have a 2011 Ram 2500 CTD with Les Scwab brand, Open Range, which have the 3-peak rating. I have a second set of rims and I wanted to get a second set of tires with a more agressive tread pattern like a mud tire. I was thinking of using this 2nd set of tire for specifically for trail use, while my first would be for commuting from home to work. I live in Dayton, NV and commute to Reno.
That’s probably the best way to do it if you don’t mind swapping them. Deep treads seem to do best, they need to be aired down super low though. 15-20psi doesn’t cut it. 10-12 psi without bead locks. 5-9psi with bead locks
Does your dash info stuff sh*t out sometimes? My brothers does and no one seems to know why.. A quick shut off and restart seems to reset it. Anyways stay warm on these trips!
It is a little quirky at times
Snow tires help!
Off-Road Porn !! Good shit man
Hey,
Why the Amazon shop no longer active and restock?
I dont live in the USA and the worldwide shipping on Amazon is needed.
