Tom yankello from world class boxing channel (the long time trainner of roy jones jr) teaches this technique. And i drilled it and use it in sparring/fighting, its tried, tested, and true. Great technique, and these boxing brothers are very knowledgeable and I appreciate they take the time to put out good info for us to learn. Though i been using this technique i can say it is a good one

You don’t see the roll under the right hand left hook counter as often from modern boxers these days. It seems to be a lost art
They throw it alot in mma, I dont see it as much in boxing anymore, don't know why
