- Sorry it took us a while. It’s been a busy couple of days. We’ll try and use the weekend to deep dive into the report, perhaps do a briefing at some stage. Here are some initial thoughts on the headlines and sound bites we got before its release. Report this is what our government does, endless paper pedaling and denial without action on the real evidence. #debatelistengrow #racereport #tonysewell #institutionalracism
4:27 - true. Also, the UK is shamefully neocolonialist. Brexit was (also) driven by it.
00:25 the racial contract

This message proves, racism is a system that in place for Power.
I love when our people talk, the scholars who dissect the news
Sewell is a legend. His books are brilliant
“The Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities League (UNIA-ACL) is a black nationalist fraternal organization founded by Marcus Garvey, a Jamaican immigrant to the United States. The Pan-African organization enjoyed its greatest strength in the 1920s, and was influential prior to Garvey's deportation to Jamaica in 1927. After that its prestige and influence declined, but it had a strong influence on African-American history and development. The UNIA was said to be "unquestionably, the most influential anticolonial organization in Jamaica prior to 1938." (Honor Ford-Smith)”
The Universal IC3 Black Improvement Association and African Communities League (UIBIA-ACL) is an IC3 black nationalist fraternal organisation founded by John Canoe, a "Black Other" of Great Britain. This Pan-African organisation is gathering great strength and is enjoying the formation of the IC3 Black Nation. It is growing in power and influence over the international affairs of those people generally perceived to be Black African or of Black African descent. The UIBIA is said to be "unquestionably, the most influential anticolonial and counter White Supremacist organisation in the world at the present time." (Mr Lynch)

Sexism exists, homophobia exists, anti semetism exists but not racism
How about Sasha Johnson? That poor woman is suffering life changing injuries. There were numerous witnesses to her murder, yet no one came forward. We're told that silence is violence right? Why does no one want to take the criminal to attempted to murder her off the streets?
Because we glamorise black on black murder/violence
This is very woke and wrong. The Sewell report is correct. I support pan African thought ! But this is just being woke and ignorant. Read the report and stop with the rhetoric !
Correct. I've finally gotten round to reading the entire report and people don't like it, because it tells the truth.

I've read the report and I don't get what's so controversial. So far I haven't heard any valid criticisms of the report. It seems to tell home truths which make people feel uncomfortable.
It's the denial of institutionalised racism, thats what upset people.
@@schoolofpanafricanthought But there isn't evidence to support institutionalised racism. The report provides lots of evidence against the existence of systemic/institutional racism. Ethnic inequalities are mostly due to other factors and in many cases the white majority has a poorer outcome. It's very important to note, the report doesn't deny the fact racism exists and that it has a detrimental affect on those who experience it. No one is invalidating anyone's personal experience.
@@alunjones3860 Racist behaviour and disparities ARE the evidence. Racism IS the institution in and of itself - not as some people believe, institutions behave in racist ways. You must make that distinction to understand. The disparities cannot be ethnic because we mostly disclose nationality as ethnicity on the census. In other words where there are racist outcomes the institution of racism is at play. The two go hand in hand.
@@schoolofpanafricanthought Correlation doesn't mean causation. Look at the data. The fact that African kids do better than white kids at school proves it's nothing to do with racism, unless you mean reverse racism.
@@schoolofpanafricanthought There's even evidence in the police force to prove that it works both ways. The Rochdale child abuse scandal is proof of this and so is the difference between how the BLM protests were permitted to take place, whilst the Sarah Everard protests were clamped down on.
