Quake 1... and Doom had a very early concept of 4 acts/levels/portals... similar to this concept. I mentioned this concept awhile back... maybe the devs. caught on. The game hub should allow you to play all characters, in all different periods in time frames. Where you can actually play all the games in one primary Engine. This would mean that maybe that's where the remakes can update the dated old games, and give them the remake where they all which deserve. With the latest Anvil engine, parkour, fighting styles updated/combos skills etc.
That's 100% what they were going for, except that seemed more like a 'dive into an experience' thing and this is more of a 'shut down this game to open a different one' thing
Assassin's Creed Shadows looks like trash I own all the other Assassin's Creed games this is the first time I won't be buying an Assassin's Creed game unfortunately
Animus hub makes sense. If we're going through this modern, near-future story, gathering the memories of these much older Assassins to reveal secrets and understanding, we need a proper throughline. I'm excited to see where this goes

I think I'm in the minority for digging the modern day storyline, so it's nice to see it exists in some capacity. I'd play an entire game set in in the near future, exploring a futuristic metropolis.
I think I’d be impressed, if the hub allows you to play across both PlayStation and xbox purchased games. That way, it wont matter where you purchase or for which platform, your games are yours.
As a lifelong assassins creed fan and player, I really like this idea of the hub. I own all assassin's creed games and think it'll be cool to just launch them from the hub. I'm so excited for shadows and can't wait to play. Love your videos bro, please keep the content coming. Hopefully I can win a copy!!!!!!!
Nice to see AC content back on the channel ! I like the fact that the modern storyline is on the player, since it reminds me of AC Unity and a bit of AC Rogue. To be fair, I started out with AC Unity and I found it very confusing when I had to learn a lot of lore to understand AC Valhalla when I played it. In this case, new AC Shadows or AC Hexe players will understand better the context in which they play without having to play all the games of the franchise. I also find it very clever that the writers found a way to link the story of AC Shadows with the European history of the Assassins, through the story of Yasuke. Knowing that the Portuguese sailors are most probably Templars, it makes a lot of sense to have Yasuke as an Assassin. Also, I look forward to seeing if Alessandro Valignano has links with Ezio Auditore da Firenze, knowing that he comes from Napoli
I don't know how I feel about this. I hope they do the modern day story justice. They ruined it and made it so confusing after Desmond died. They teased they were going something with Desmond's DNA and then nothing. The hub is interesting but depends on how it is fully implemented, and if they stay true to their word that it won't become a cash cow like they did with Valhalla. I am curious how much they will be able to implement all this with the current financial troubles they are in. It seems like they are putting all their eggs in one basket on shadows and the hub
Part of the problem is that there's a lot of events which happen in other media like comic books. For example, Juno's story ends in a comic book, and not in any of the games. Desmond had a son he didn't know about, after a one night stand with a woman while being a bartender, and his son is also Juno's husband Aita reborn in modern day - Juno gets a new body and is eventually killed by Desmond's son.
Good step in the right direction for the animus hub. The ubisoft connect launcher was dauntingly slow, but I liked the concept. Glad to hear they are focused on the evolution of the entire experience, not just gameplay. I'm rooting for Ubi.
Funny fact is I told Ubisoft to create the animus hub n I called it the animus in my tickets where I report bugs and share suggestions on how to improve the game. Did this in 2021 and have the support tickets to prove it. Love to see this
I'm looking forward to your coverage of this game! The game looks so frickin good! Like genuinely, you might not like it in the way that it's not for you, but if you say the game looks bad, you're straight biased! People are hating for the sake of hating. As for the animus hub, I think it has a lot of potential to make the modern day story more accessible for everyone
Appreciate your thoughts on this! I agree that they need to improve the distribution of items you can use Keys to buy. Always hated that in previous games where the actual equipment never really showed up, but the same cosmetics would be displayed over and over again. I just really hope that they have been paying attention to how gouging your customers has failed for other games released in the last couple of years.
Heya, Andy. First thank you for the overview. It's essentially the CoD HQ with a few tweaks and goodies. Not a fan of hubs in general but if it's fast and doesn't slow down the time to be in the game itself I'm okay with it. I do like the additional ongoing rewards and the story recap though. It's just way too confusing, even if you're interested in the lore. What I really like is that you can still unlock cosmetic sets by simply playing the game. This kept me playing Odyssey for a long, long time. Some of these sets are beautiful and I got all of my favorite sets by playing every week. I hope they keep the time vs reward the same or even make it a bit less grindy. But just like you mentioned it gets super annoying the more things they add. They need to work on the rotation or expand the number of items when they add more and more cosmetics. I don't think they will let you purchase a game with the keys and if it wouldn't be upcoming games. We all know the situation Ubisoft is in. And they would lose money if the core playerbase could grind their way towards the next game. I don't think they want to risk that. Thank you for showing us the hub and expressing your concerns. 🤗

I’m a big AC modern day fan so I’m tentatively optimistic about this. I just hope it connects to what we’ve already had and doesn’t abandon all the characters and ideas we’ve had so far. But I’ll definitely be keeping up with whatever they put out in the hub. I don’t think the launcher thing will be much use to me though. I play on console and have my games on disc so it won’t be able to load them up.
I'm pretty excited for shadows, played all and enjoyed equally. Odyssey and origins were gorgeous and you could still play stealthily if you so choose.
I’d like to see all the AC games added over time or remasters. Also your progress toward 100% synchronisation in each game. With rewards linked to that
I feel like the new animus Hub is pretty innovated for long time and new Assassins creed fans for old fans it gives a sense of new immersion as in the older titles we are playing as Desmond or someone walking around in modern day and then entering the animus to go play as the assassin, but in this new hub we ourselves are basically in an animus and we can select through the memories and play as our favorite assassins, it’s more of a ease of access and I think it’s great as they can add and update over time and all our favorite titles are in one hub. For new players this makes it so much easier for them to get into the world of assassins creed as the games will be laid out for them as animus memories so they can pick and choose what they want to play and not really be as confused coming in to assassins creed for the first time. All in All this hub can keep this franchise alive for a long while and add more content and can even be the way they tease new games with maybe a glitch in the animus with a new memory seeping through
Honestly it seens pretty interesting so far, im excited to see the feedback from the consumers and see how they may implement new features and stuff. Id imagine the pushback as well because of people comparing it to other franchises doing similar stuff
I really like the idea of the hub in theory, as long as they do it in a fair way like you state. I'd be much more inclined to spend on cosmetics if we got to keep them throughout further games. I'm cautiously optimistic about Shadows, so here's hoping!
Hey andy, have they said anything in regards to Shadows reading RAM etc 'Consent to monitor' from the TOS? I've heard a few comments about it and I'm quite on the fence about it. I absolutely love the hunting system in the AC games. Will they be updating more targets as a live service addition? Also is there an option to turn off special effects on weapons and armours? I love the outfits but the smoke and fire effects etc are a put off.

The animus hub looks like a really cool idea. I'd love to seamlessly switch between characters like ezio, connor, or any of the other old assassins at the push of a button. Fingers crossed they pull it off 🤞
My main concern when I hear of this new hub is how similar it sounds to call of duty's launcher. Where you can select. What game you want, they only downside to that is the constant restarting that happens for call of duty when you choose a certain game to play. I haven't been super excited for an AC game since Unity due to it customization options which allow for different gameplay styles. That being said I still have played 85% of the franchise as of now. I hope this game brings back the feeling I used to get.
I get why Yasuke can’t climb to the top of all places (so that each protagonist has different strengths), but I would love it if they add an optional skill that Yasuke can unlock later to fully progress his parkour / climbing! That way he still has to train to climb as high as her (as she weighs less & presumably already trained as a ninja). She could perhaps have a late skill to unlock more damage with swords. That way they both have to (optionally) train to get closer to each others strengths.
All things considered I’m good with this. My only note is that we can choose a default controller configuration. I don’t know about anyone else but I can’t switch between AC odyssey and Valhalla without taking 30 minutes to relearn controls.
I'm gonna go ahead and say that I agree with you on this one. Atm as it stands, this hub can have a lot of potential IF it doesn't follow into the footsteps of the orichalcum/reda shop from all previous RPG titles of the series. If it eventually ends up being fair and brings in a breath of fresh air that would blow away the doubts lots of us have over the greedy monetization practices we've seen in the past for cosmetics, gears, armor and weapons into the game, then it will be a most welcome change by the majority of the community that would be deservingly well celebrated. We'll just have to wait and see I guess. Thank you for all the clarifications in the video Andy.
I feel if done correctly it could actually turn out well but I’ll wait and see when I save enough money to pre order the deluxe edition of the game but I’ll see it through I’m aware of the past games flaws but I found my own enjoyment in them so here’s hoping that I’ll enjoy this one too

I will be interested to see how far back they go with the older game, especially since I have done all the single player console AC games. I like the idea of the modern day story, and especially if it goes back to Miles, the modern day story was a main lure for me to get the games in the early days. I am not too sure I like the bit about having to play multiplayer stuff etc to get the full modern day story updates
I'm excited for Assassin's Creed Shadows and this new Animus Hub! It's essentially what the Call of Duty franchise has done to link all of their past and future games. Definitely a step in the right direction for Ubisoft. Great video very informative, bravo! 🥷🏼

Yeah but you will have to install every game you wanna play. I dont even think a console could have every AC game installed. Especially if you play other games that aren't AC.
i honestly still dont see the point of this, but we’ll see i guess… maybe seeing the modern day through the hub will change my mind, but i have very little faith in ubisoft with the modern day story…
I really enjoyed the modern-day sections in Assassin's Creed 4, and the fact that they made it feel like I was the protagonist was a great touch. However, I want to see the modern-day story progress after Valhalla. I hope they provide some clarity. Desmond is gone, Layla is gone, Basim woke up 1,000 years later... so, what now? The last time we saw a significant development was in Syndicate, where the Isu were supposed to return, and the Templars were gaining the upper hand. Where are the Pieces of Eden in the modern day? What is the current state of the war? Who is left in the Assassins' ranks? Even if they don't cover all this in the main games, they could make a standalone game set entirely in the modern day just to wrap up these storylines-it would be amazing.
I think the hubs a good idea. we just need to hope that Ubisoft doesn't miss the mark in their natural fashion. I think the same goes for shadows as well. I'm glad they took that extra time for shadows, so we'll see.
It would be great if Steam AC games automatically use this Infinity launcher & don’t need to also use the Ubisoft Connect. Also, I don’t want to have to enter a password to the Infinity launcher each time I open my game from Steam. So it’s more fluid / quicker opening AC games.
I think the new "not launcher" could be pretty neat. My main concern that it doesn't get in the way of playing the games. I like COD Warfare but the launcher is such a pile that it makes just playing a few rounds a problem. If they can avoid that I'm interested in seeing where they go with it.
I really hope the modern day stuff is better than the occasional skype calls we got in Unity. I still have my fingers crossed that we get to see Basim and what he's been up to
Over all I think that is dope a fan of AC genre I think the hub will benefit from all players who indulge in AC Im excited to see what it will look like...
To be honest, I think the Animus hub looks pretty cool and along with AC Shadows, which I am buzzing for and can't wait for shadows to be released because of the parkour, stealth, combat, etc. look really fun.
I must say, I'm really looking into Shadows... I've played Odyssey again, just now... and what a game! I didn't realize it the first time i've played it... But Ubisoft really nailed that one! Great open world, amazing graphics. Shadows is made by the same team! Played RDR2, Ghost of... But to be honest, Ubisoft really get's the roll playing open world right!
Excited to explore Japan, liking the character design and ecstatic about the hideout/village builder. Just hoping they fixed all the weird cultural errors and architectural errors from the trailers, and VERY worried about the writing and dialogue. I saw a sidequest walkthrough where they sound and speak in modern Western college campus lingo and have very Wetern almost Twitter speech patterns when even modern Japanese people speak very differently from the Middle Period Japanese that was spoken during the Sengoku Jidai. But the world looks beautiful and id there is a photo mode, I'll probably be doing that as much as combat.
I have been a big fan of the franchise since I was young. I really loved assassins creed 3 and assassins creed 4 black flag, as well as Unity top tier for me, I also enjoyed origins and Odyssey but they just seem to move further from the OG goodness of the games. I’d love to give this game a shot it looks like they put their all into this and I’m honestly rooting for Ubisoft to make a change for the betterment of the Franchise. Do you need to own them on Ubisoft Connect, or can you still launch them if you have them on PlayStation? And if that is possible, what if you have them on CD?

I think that this sounds amazing. They are bringing it all together and offering updated season pass reward systems. Yes, obviously there are going to be some areas that are for cash grab. they need to if you want more incredible games, they cost money to make. but I don't think that the whole thing is going to be a cash grab. Too many questions nd no answer about hub, but that Ubisoft for ya. I kinda see, but me it kinda falls apart if the hub cant take into account AC I played back on the Xbox 360 and now lately PS5. I’ve always preferred to be a physical media gamer. I own Origins and Odyssey in physical form. Will the Animus hub recognize my account through Ubisoft/Uplay or will I be forced to purchase the games again in a digital format?
So far i haven't minded the Ubisoft stores and I haven't bought any cosmetics yet. I've liked the coin system that lets you essentially do quests to earn in game items, I'm surprised they don't advertise it more. If they condense everything into one executable and it doesn't take any extra time to get into the game then i have no issue with it. Call of Duty has started doing this as well and for me at least it's not a big deal.
Nice with that hub and all the features in it, but there needs to be at least 1 or 2 guaranteed slots thats weapon or armor.. or its really gonna be a slight grind to get everything, or a very long wait.. im pretty sure there are weapons or armor that hasnt been seen at Reda since launch in valhalla, so please Ubisoft keep the grinding to a minimum

The animus hub looks like a really cool idea. I'd love to seamlessly switch between characters like ezio, connor, or any of the other old assassins at the push of a button.

My main concern when I hear of this new hub is how similar it sounds to call of duty's launcher. Where you can select. What game you want, they only downside to that is the constant restarting that happens for call of duty when you choose a certain game to play.
I haven't been super excited for an AC game since Unity due to it customization options which allow for different gameplay styles.
That being said I still have played 85% of the franchise as of now. I hope this game brings back the feeling I used to get.

AC is one of my favorite games. I pray they remaster AC1 and if they add Altair to the Hub I’ll be in my glory
I get why Yasuke can’t climb to the top of all places (so that each protagonist has different strengths), but I would love it if they add an optional skill that Yasuke can unlock later to fully progress his parkour / climbing!
That way he still has to train to climb as high as her (as she weighs less & presumably already trained as a ninja). She could perhaps have a late skill to unlock more damage with swords. That way they both have to (optionally) train to get closer to each others strengths.
But they still aren't anywhere near on pat with the other
All things considered I’m good with this. My only note is that we can choose a default controller configuration. I don’t know about anyone else but I can’t switch between AC odyssey and Valhalla without taking 30 minutes to relearn controls.
I'm gonna go ahead and say that I agree with you on this one. Atm as it stands, this hub can have a lot of potential IF it doesn't follow into the footsteps of the orichalcum/reda shop from all previous RPG titles of the series. If it eventually ends up being fair and brings in a breath of fresh air that would blow away the doubts lots of us have over the greedy monetization practices we've seen in the past for cosmetics, gears, armor and weapons into the game, then it will be a most welcome change by the majority of the community that would be deservingly well celebrated.

I feel if done correctly it could actually turn out well but I’ll wait and see when I save enough money to pre order the deluxe edition of the game but I’ll see it through I’m aware of the past games flaws but I found my own enjoyment in them so here’s hoping that I’ll enjoy this one too

I will be interested to see how far back they go with the older game, especially since I have done all the single player console AC games. I like the idea of the modern day story, and especially if it goes back to Miles, the modern day story was a main lure for me to get the games in the early days. I am not too sure I like the bit about having to play multiplayer stuff etc to get the full modern day story updates
I'm excited for Assassin's Creed Shadows and this new Animus Hub! It's essentially what the Call of Duty franchise has done to link all of their past and future games. Definitely a step in the right direction for Ubisoft. Great video very informative, bravo! 🥷🏼

Yeah but you will have to install every game you wanna play. I dont even think a console could have every AC game installed. Especially if you play other games that aren't AC.

i honestly still dont see the point of this, but we’ll see i guess… maybe seeing the modern day through the hub will change my mind, but i have very little faith in ubisoft with the modern day story…
I really enjoyed the modern-day sections in Assassin's Creed 4, and the fact that they made it feel like I was the protagonist was a great touch. However, I want to see the modern-day story progress after Valhalla. I hope they provide some clarity. Desmond is gone, Layla is gone, Basim woke up 1,000 years later... so, what now? The last time we saw a significant development was in Syndicate, where the Isu were supposed to return, and the Templars were gaining the upper hand. Where are the Pieces of Eden in the modern day? What is the current state of the war? Who is left in the Assassins' ranks? Even if they don't cover all this in the main games, they could make a standalone game set entirely in the modern day just to wrap up these storylines-it would be amazing.
It's interesting that we are now the modern day protagonist. It's creative, but I'll miss hopping back into the modern day from time to time
I was not the biggest fan of the modern day story lines but I don’t know if this is gonna be the biggest improvement
I think the hubs a good idea. we just need to hope that Ubisoft doesn't miss the mark in their natural fashion. I think the same goes for shadows as well. I'm glad they took that extra time for shadows, so we'll see.
It would be great if Steam AC games automatically use this Infinity launcher & don’t need to also use the Ubisoft Connect.
Also, I don’t want to have to enter a password to the Infinity launcher each time I open my game from Steam. So it’s more fluid / quicker opening AC games.
I think the new "not launcher" could be pretty neat. My main concern that it doesn't get in the way of playing the games. I like COD Warfare but the launcher is such a pile that it makes just playing a few rounds a problem. If they can avoid that I'm interested in seeing where they go with it.
I really hope the modern day stuff is better than the occasional skype calls we got in Unity. I still have my fingers crossed that we get to see Basim and what he's been up to
Over all I think that is dope a fan of AC genre I think the hub will benefit from all players who indulge in AC Im excited to see what it will look like...
To be honest, I think the Animus hub looks pretty cool and along with AC Shadows, which I am buzzing for and can't wait for shadows to be released because of the parkour, stealth, combat, etc. look really fun.
I hope they integrate all consoles/pc versions...id really love to hop in the Animus on my 7800xt and play my PS5 AC game saves

I must say, I'm really looking into Shadows... I've played Odyssey again, just now... and what a game! I didn't realize it the first time i've played it... But Ubisoft really nailed that one! Great open world, amazing graphics. Shadows is made by the same team! Played RDR2, Ghost of... But to be honest, Ubisoft really get's the roll playing open world right!
Excited to explore Japan, liking the character design and ecstatic about the hideout/village builder. Just hoping they fixed all the weird cultural errors and architectural errors from the trailers, and VERY worried about the writing and dialogue. I saw a sidequest walkthrough where they sound and speak in modern Western college campus lingo and have very Wetern almost Twitter speech patterns when even modern Japanese people speak very differently from the Middle Period Japanese that was spoken during the Sengoku Jidai.
But the world looks beautiful and id there is a photo mode, I'll probably be doing that as much as combat.
I have been a big fan of the franchise since I was young. I really loved assassins creed 3 and assassins creed 4 black flag, as well as Unity top tier for me, I also enjoyed origins and Odyssey but they just seem to move further from the OG goodness of the games. I’d love to give this game a shot it looks like they put their all into this and I’m honestly rooting for Ubisoft to make a change for the betterment of the Franchise. Also keep up the great work @AndyReloads hope I could be a code winner!😁

Are they going to add the old games to the hub or is that when they get remade?
Will the "projects" be missable? Like will they eventually disappear if you don't finish them after a certain amount of time and have missable rewards
Do you need to own them on Ubisoft Connect, or can you still launch them if you have them on PlayStation? And if that is possible, what if you have them on CD?

I think that this sounds amazing. They are bringing it all together and offering updated season pass reward systems. Yes, obviously there are going to be some areas that are for cash grab. they need to if you want more incredible games, they cost money to make. but I don't think that the whole thing is going to be a cash grab. I think they are thinking further ahead than that. I love the sound of it. Keep it up, Ubisoft!! I have been and will always stay a supporter of this franchise. 💯% cannot wait!!!
Too many questions nd no answer about hub, but that Ubisoft for ya. I kinda see, but me it kinda falls apart if the hub cant take into account AC I played back on the Xbox 360 and now lately PS5. Yeah I got around.

I’ve always preferred to be a physical media gamer. I own Origins and Odyssey in physical form. Will the Animus hub recognize my account through Ubisoft/Uplay or will I be forced to purchase the games again in a digital format?
i like this launcher system because it just sorts all the ac games and storylines to one. also free cosmetics are always good

So far i haven't minded the Ubisoft stores and I haven't bought any cosmetics yet. I've liked the coin system that lets you essentially do quests to earn in game items, I'm surprised they don't advertise it more. If they condense everything into one executable and it doesn't take any extra time to get into the game then i have no issue with it. Call of Duty has started doing this as well and for me at least it's not a big deal.
Nice with that hub and all the features in it, but there needs to be at least 1 or 2 guaranteed slots thats weapon or armor..
or its really gonna be a slight grind to get everything, or a very long wait.. im pretty sure there are weapons or armor that hasnt been seen at Reda since launch in valhalla, so please Ubisoft keep the grinding to a minimum
