Some Facts About Montserrat:
1. Montserrat is a volcanic island in the South-Eastern Caribbean.
2. Montserrat’s Soufriere Hills volcano, which had been dormant for centuries, became active in July 1995, erupted, and buried the capital city of Plymouth, which is considered a modern-day Pompeii. The most recent eruption of Montserrat’s Soufriere Hills volcano was on June 25, 1997.
3. After the eruptions, the majority of the island’s population fled the island, mostly for the United Kingdom.
4. The population in Montserrat, at present, is approximately 5000 people.
5. Being a volcanic island, most of Montserrat’s beaches are black sand beaches.
6. Montserrat can be visited by small aircrafts, ferries, and other boats of similar size. The most straightforward way to Visit Montserrat is by flying from Antigua.
7. Montserrat is called the Emerald Isle of the Caribbean due to its Irish heritage and also its lush green land.
8. Montserrat is the only country outside of Ireland to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day as a national holiday. The St. Patrick’s Day celebration is the biggest celebration of the year on the island.
9. Montserrat is especially well-known in the music industry thanks, in part, to AIR Studios Montserrat, a state-of-the-art recording studio built by Sir George Martin, world-renowned producer of the Beatles. This is where Stevie Wonder recorded “Ebony and Ivory” with Paul McCartney. Many other artists, including Elton John, Marvin Gaye, Duran Duran, and Eric Clapton recorded at AIR Studios Montserrat.
10. Arrow, also known as the Might Arrow, the original artist who created the soca hit “Hot Hot Hot” is Montserratian. He recorded “Hot Hot Hot” at AIR Studios Montserrat.

For me who is born in Guadeloupe ,I am so surprised that Montserrat keep a real aspect so natural after some volcano activities during the 80s.
It will be one day a good priority to visit Montserrat .

Hey guys. Celebrated my birthday July 21st on the Carnival Magic the 18 th to yesterday. Was nice for a smaller older ship. Have 171 notifications. Been trying to catch up today while doing laundry. Have never been to Monserrat. Not even a cruise port destination. So fly to Antigua and then a smaller plane. Nice airport but those green seats look tiny😂. I would not have left the airport either. Stay put and close. Nice airport. I don’t eat before or between flights. Oh my. Look at the small plane. Would take it over the ferry. 20 minutes vs 2 hrs? 🙏🏼 the whole time. My smallest plane yrs ago was NY to Martha’s Vineyard. Maybe 50 ppl 45min to an hour flight. Kitchenette nice. Room looks dated but serves the purpose for a quick getaway. Glad you landed before the rain. Coconut with a smile. 🧉. Very nice. Thanks for sharing and see you next video.

I enjoyed your video - thanks for posting! I vacationed on Montserrat in 1992 and found the island very beautiful and the people so welcoming, I too tried the goat water stew and drank from Runaway Ghaut so hopefully I'll be returning some day🤞 Wishing you happy travels!

NO IT NOT. ** the commonality is from Britannia . All Montserrat are REAL IRISH PEOPLE and that "Irish, Welsh and Scottish accent is in Jamaica as well.
The English dumped the natives in the Caribbean... some in America and some in Sierre Leone.

Thank you, Jackie! This tour with Mr. Daly was about 5 hours long. We started around 9 AM and got back to our hotel at about 2 PM.
