- Counselor Carl (serenityonlinet...) explains that addiction is a chronic illness. He shares data from the National Institute on Drug Abuse showing that when treatment providers, recovering addicts, and families of addicted persons view and treat addiction as a chronic illness, treatment outcomes are more successful. In addition, when addiction is treated as a chronic illness, the success rates compared with the success rates of three other chronic illnesses - diabetes, high blood pressure, and asthma - are similar and even higher for addiction in some cases. Counselor Carl's straight-forward teaching style makes complex concepts easy to understand. Counselor Carl is a licensed, professional counselor with 25 years of clinical experience both online and face-to-face.

I would go a step further, addiction is a destructive way to deal with (generational) trauma. People are seldom treated for the horrible things they’ve been through.
I agree it certainly can be that. Thanks for sharing.
You are absolutely awesome 😎 Chase ya goals not drugs
And so it is with religion.
