This is the funniest of all Ayckbourn plays for me. The husbands lines are the best. I believe there were only 2 members in the cast playing all 4 characters - so talented.
Hi there, I just listened to this today and absolutely loved it. Have been on an Alan Ayckbourn kick over the last month or so. Was wondering if you happen to have the remaining three 'Intimate Exchanges' that the BBC made in the late 80's? I can't find them anywhere! BBC Radio 4 Broadcasts (1989) Events On A Hotel Terrace: 26 August (2.30pm) A Game Of Golf: 26 August (7.45pm) A Pageant: 28 August (3pm) Love In The Mist: 28 August (8.15pm)
When Lionel talks all I can picture is Trigger out of Only Fools and Horses and Mrs Celia Teasdale reminds me of that comedy actress that used to play the baby in Harry Enfields comedy series obviously with a silly posh voice. I have a very strange brain. 🧠 Brilliant play. Thank you
This was so much fun. The writing & actors brilliant, Thank You!

Brilliant especially when you realise it's just 2 actors.
Lionel reminds me of Peter Tinniswoods Winston 😊

Superb script and acting, hilarious mocking of the UK middle and working classes.
