I mean, even a life without limitations would still be limited by the fact that there's no limitations. You can't exist, and therefore live, without limitations -INTP, if it wasn't clear
Yup. As an ISTP, one thing I've had to learn to do to be more disciplined, focused, and purposeful is to learn to appreciate limitations. Say I have a task at work, but there's a set of restrictions placed on me. After the initial flare of anger, I try to force myself to look at things more as a challenge, a puzzle to be solved. It forces me to be creative and to think laterally, be resourceful, try new things. It can be pretty satisfying just in the attempt itself, let alone actually achieving my goal.
Thank you, that was so thoughtful of you, and you saved me & others time. [T]You thought to take all he said and predict what others might need if confused [N]. Said it in fewer words and refined it [J]. Since you didn't ask anyone before taking time to make this summary; I do believe you are as stated [I]ntrovert.
I dont think for the Ne types its so much future focused searching as much as idea-collecting, where as Se is experience collecting. The ideas can be future or present or past or not bound to time (correct me if I'm wrong I know nothing)
@@sourgrapes7482 Exactly. Ideas are not bound by time, I'm guessing that OP was generalizing on what Frank said at 10:55, which can be misleading. N is not necessarily future-focused, it is about seeking patterns in concepts. They tend to skip ahead on the information from the five senses, as they are "obvious, mundane, and irrelevant to their worldview". People with Ne-dom or the _N_P types especially, they find connections and branch very wide, because they don't want to miss anything out. They just tend not to go deep into the gathered information because they seek variety. Ni-dom or _N_J types tend to organize the abstract information gathered to form their own strong foundation, which is why they restrict themselves because they focus on organizing the patterns, not seeking variety. Which is why they tend to be "future-focused", it's just because they try to generalize as much stuff as possible from the strong foundation they built to make better decisions in the future according to themselves. TLDR: N types are not necessarily future-focused. Especially not for _N_P types (doesn't mean that they don't have the ability to focus on the future)

I'm an INTP who marries an ISFJ. I'm often amazed to see how she gets things done while I'm still busy thinking of how things could be. When we moved to where we live now, we saw an unkempt backyard. My NP brain couldn't help but overwhelmed by the thought of how much work needs to be done. Cleaning, hoeing, carrying gravels, paving blocks, etc. But my wife was determined to make a garden, so she started working right away while I was thinking what is the most efficient way to do it. In the end, her way of doing things worked. We now have a nice garden in the backyard with vegetables, flowers, gravel pathway, and picnic area. Internet is full of intuitives discussing because sensors are out there in the real world, working and actually get things done. Respect for sensors.
I'm and infp and can't tolerate to sensors till your last sentence. I'd never thought this way. They are really living their live like real live and as and infp still searching for what is is real? Am i real? Is there anything real? Life is so hard for N

I'm both really lol. It has to be directed towards my job or something I'm extremely passionate or obsessed over for me to learn all that I can about a subject
I'm ENFP and my parents were both SJs. I got punished for asking questions and not immediately trusting every single thing they told me, and they kept telling me to focus on one topic at a time, refusing to let me branch off and explore at all. As an adult, I have never felt freer. I can finally learn everything I want and refine whatever skill I want. Of course, now they say I'm an underachiever and have no direction, but I kinda prefer it that way.
I'm sorry to hear that, I have an ISTJ dad but I'm an ESTJ so I while I don't agree with him on everything I appreciate the job my parents did raising me. I feel like the other extreme (not giving your kids any direction or discipline) is a worse parenting style.
same here 🤦🏾♀️ They believe things that "Authority figures" told them even if they didn't observe it for themselves They are also judgemental of anybody who feels or thinks differently or has different ideas than them My curiosity and joy for new things was seen as naïveté and being irresponsible. I agree it's better as an Adult as you can finally do what you think is best and discover new things for yourself and even explore even new areas you were holding back from. I wish I had had an ENFP or INFP mother It was painful at times
I'm ENFP with an ENFP dad and an ISTJ mom. She was always super judgmental of everything I did, how I looked, what I wore, what I ate. I hated it. My Dad wasn't that way with me, but he was incredibly strict on my schooling, because he saw my aptitude and didn't want me to end up like him. He never applied himself because of his P, so he ended up in dead end blue collar jobs for years. He wanted more for me than that, so he pushed me hard in school. The result is that I have a very boring clothing style and am unsure how to spruce it up. I also had a very hard time figuring out what I like and didn't like... so there has been a lot of exploration as an adult to discover who the heck I am. Also, I can be incredibly organized and put together, but it requires all my focus. I feel like a failure if any one thing goes wrong in my plans. I am perfectionistic with my work. And I'm utterly drained and want to throw it all away and head for a tropical paradise by the end of the day. I also crave travel like crazy because I need something interesting to do and see and experience. Anyway, it's so weird how upbringing can augment the natural flow of someone's type. Yet, it wasn't able to change it.
Ok ok, video idea. Hear me out: "16 personalities as parents naming their babies" Edit: alright Frank James, take notes, take notes. I’d love to see a side by side comparison of the difference between the introverted and extroverted types. I’ve tested right in the middle between infj and enfj.
I've seen a way to find your type somewhere in Instagram: First you find your extroverted function, because it's the most obvious one. So, do you relate more to Fe, Te, Ne or Se? (as an xnfj you should relate more to Fe) If you chose Fe or Te, you must now see whether you relate more to Ni or Si. If you chose Ne or Se, you must find out if you relate more to Ti or Fi. And now you have two possible types. Now let's see how you act under a lot of stress. The function you use in very stressful situation is your inferior function. I found that info on Ig @myidentity_co
If you're stuck between INFJ and ENFJ its pretty likely you're INFJ since INFJ is on the more extroverted side of the introvert spectrum :D but to know for sure you'll need to look into cognitive functions :)

11:45 I’m an esfp and my wife is an ENFP. Whenever we have discussions regarding social justice issues, you can REALLY see our differences. My focus is on things like “I saw person x being treated in this way when I was at X. It makes me feel like doo-doo.” She won’t use examples- she’ll instead talk about concepts like “generational trauma leads to X attitude, which impacts X. But it also impacts Y. And Z!” Both are accurate, but are from totally different planets as far as extroverted sensing is concerned.
i'm ENFP dating an ENTJ and sometimes I'm wondering if he''s not mistyped bc we are just so alike , except he seems to be more logical than me but as crazy as I am ahaha
ENTJ's have Te as their first function so they do a lot quickly and get things done. The Se in 3rd slot makes them like to relax or play while being in the body or experience the word. Those functions can make them look like a crazy tornado (or a manager with the skills of a sergeant) but their actions are still linear (because J)
I'm in an INFJ/INFP couple and we are both studying in science so when we talk it's exaclty how you describe it! This has been the most useful video I've seen of yours. I am an isfp and my brother is an infj, and he is very religious. We have this continuously recurring conversation on God and ultimate truth or reality. He always seems to start from an answer he believes is correct and refines his understanding purely through that context, and I remain uncertain of conclusions and I base what I accept about what is ultimately true on how it squares with my expanding knowledge and observations of physical world. He seems frustrated with insistence on measuring reality by that metric and I end up confused and frustrated in being asked to overlook those things and limit my scope of vision in discernment of truth. To be fair, he probably sees my using the observable physical world as a measuring stick as a limitation as well, but his measuring stick for truth and reality is foreign to me and I feel lost and confused if I attempt to use it.
This is a excerpt from the response I wrote addressing this comment. I am not placing the entire thing here because it seems out of place here. Daniel,I think there is much to be said in regards to our cognitive differences. As an INFJ I feel most at home with abstractions and intangibles; with symbols and metaphors. It is there where we can encapsulate much larger truths, much truer truths then in the specific tangibles which are quite opaque and subject to anomalies and misinterpretation. I wouldn’t categorize my preference for the abstract as a disdain for the “facts on the ground” but as a reverence for the metaphysical, as a legend on the print which guides our understanding as we seek to make sense of our observations. And so, there are some observations which I simply see as a distraction, I cannot see [yet] how they integrate into the larger picture. I see being concerned with tangental data points, rather than working outward from the center of the composition [that is reality] is a sort of “cart before the horse”, and may even be detrimental to the recognition of the hidden When one puts together a puzzle, they find first an area of focus from which they can make sense of the pieces within the composition. Perhaps the edges, it is easy enough to distinguish the edge pieces from the chaotic anonymity of the irregular internal pieces. Perhaps it is some other portion of the composition which for whatever reason clicks for the discerning person. But that becomes for them the focal point. There will inevitably be pieces that do not seem to integrate with the portion from which your attention is affixed. It is not wrong then to set them to the side, it may even be a distraction to jump from theme to theme within the composition, one is subject to make mistakes. It is better then to uncover the center of the composition working out from there. In this way we can ensure that we reconstruct the image without distorting it; that all the elements find there place contextually with the center of the work. I think that perhaps you and I are working on the same puzzle, yet arguing about where the central focus of the composition lies. And that our interpretation of the whole, is affected by what we call the center. For me that center is Christ. For you, I am not sure what that is. It may be because of my zeal for the discussion I haven’t given you ample time to voice that. Although I think too that you have some difficulty articulating too what that is. My ongoing theory is that you yourself are operating from a particular set of pre-judgments which are quite unique to yourself, I don’t see why the presuppositions of one person can be truer to that of another’s unless there is one specific truth beyond all truths which informs a persons presuppositions. I call this truth Christ; the image of the living God, who holds all things together and is indeed outside of time itself. How would you characterize or describe the nature of this highest truth?
@@iNFlecTi0n I didn't mean to imply that you disdain the "facts on the ground." Only that it seems for you they are only of interest in reference to what you see as the larger picture. You seem to see combing through the parts as having the potential to misguide, and I tend toward the assumption that assuming the correctness of the percieved big picture without assessing if the pieces actually paint that picture can create a vision of reality that is misaligned with what the big picture actually looks like. I like to use metaphor and symbol in art, but those symbols mean nothing to me if they aren't abstracted representations of elements of base reality. It seems that you lead with an assumption of what the big picture is, and allow the pieces to refine that, and I lead with a set of assumptions about what the pieces look like as a means to assess what the big picture looks like.

INTP here, and most of my friends are too (we can sense our own kind). Our mantra seems to be “I need more data”. The bright side is we are adventurous; the bad side is making major purchases tend to be excruciating, because we need to explore all possibilities, and by the time we collect all current data there is new data. The term “analysis paralysis” was coined for us. The other downside is that if I don’t have new experiences and input or access to it, I die inside. I also strongly agree with your NP vs NJ analogy. I work in the software world and my job title includes the word “innovation”. My job is to find new ways to use things, and explore possibilities, and you described exactly how my brain works. To me, I most often look at a thing, and rather than seeing what it is, I see its potential and possibilities, or how it could be improved upon. Thankfully, we have NJs whose job it is to distill those ideas.
When I talk to my best friend she's always jumping through 1000 topics meanwhile I'm just like "and if we circle back that that one thing we talked about earlier, ..."
For me as an INFP, in a relationship, I constantly ask the same questions in different ways just to make sure that I have gotten the right answer. Or I tell someone something many times until they start to get annoyed because I keep repeating myself and yeah, NO LIMITS WITH INFORMATION. NEVER ENOUGH.
I feel like that NP metaphor of a reverse funnel, of grabbing one thing and blowing it up is so incredibly accurate I could talk about one subject, and relate it a dozen other subjects and I can't just condense anything. But I am great on expanding on things
Can you please make a video where you talk about which relationship between the 16 personalities would work the best? I've heard about ENFJ×INFP or ENTJ×INFP and ESFJ×ISFP and so on
As an INFP I definitely keep myself busy with hobbies or researching interests and my husband is an ISTJ and man... everything you stated is so true. I want more when I hear a story but my husband just wants the story and no backstory 😂
Well I'm definitely a "P" type because the only way my ducks will ever be in a row is if I shoot them and line them up. 😂 So flipping this around, someone should be able to figure out if they're an SP, NP, SJ or NJ by finding out what they struggle with most which would be their opposite preference? For example, an NP would struggle with SJ type things most (organizing the sensory) and an NJ would struggle with SP most (experiencing the sensory), right?
@@FrankJames I saw the J/P's first picture of your video so a comment was spontaneous. I think J/P dicothomy is nonsense, if you use it to determine organization level of someone. The reason is pretty simple: for example, how should INFJs be NECESSARILY organized if Ni+Fe is not about structure, productivity and planning? Maybe an MBTI IxxJ can have those characteristics, but it's a pretty individual factor: we can't associate everything to dicothomies (and, however, dichotomies are the worst typing method, because if you do like this, using tests like 16personalities, your results will change according to the mood, because you're not OR an x OR an y).
(2/2) The problem is this: IxxJ are, in reality, PERCEIVING dominant; and IxxP are JUDGING dominant. So Myers-Briggs has done a huge interpretative mistake in deciding J and P on external world apparent structure or flexibility, because in the original "Psychological Types" by Carl Jung, the fourth dicotomy (rational and irrational) wasn't necessarily determined by an external point of view. This is just a convention that Myers-Briggs exstablished to determine which people would apparently function best in a work environment, but, in my opinion, the stack and her definition of J/P are pretty in contradiction in introverts.
@@mattiat.6697 IxxJ are introverted perceiving dominant. Saying introverted perceiving dominant would make them anything like an high extroverted perceiving user would be like saying that just because a duck can swim it's a fish. This isn't the best explanation, but the introverted functions process the outside world, which is brought in by the extroverted functions. Bringing in definitions of J and P- J is narrowing down while P is including everything. So, IxxJ will process (by S/N (which is actually just Si/Ni lmao) and store all of their information internally, while they narrow down the stream of outside information externally. But, since you need to have information before processing it, the introverted function will act like a "filter" before finalizing everything. This is why IxxJs are more "judgey"- they have a filter, with bias towards N or S, and then the world is more narrowed down by their judging function, before finally being processed and stored. For IxxPs, they will have a filter of T or F before storing things. IxxPs tend to have an internal structure of stuff. So, technically, introverts are more "judgey" than their extroverted counterparts because they don't immediately take their information in. Also, for the record, I agree that typing by dichotomies is nonsense. I'm sorry if I offended you in any way, shape, or form. The thing is, J/P isn't dichotomies- it's functions. (This is why I'm fine with xSxJ or IxxP but not as fine with something like xNFx- xSxJ is Si user, IxxP is Ti or Fi dominant, xNFx is... Ni or Ne and Fi or Fe in some order which is kinda sorta pointless but its still fINe)

Frank: they have to stick with what they know, they dont want the new. Me, an infj, whos been reading the same books again and again, because i dont want to know about any others: I....see.
I don't think it is so much about not getting a lot of information for xxx J, it is about doing something with it or understand it for which... you do need to refine it, classify it, organize it, etc. for which at some point exploring stops, but we will take in more info, we would just have to integrate it in a system.
Well this explains a lot of things. I keep seeing the same patterns over and over again in different scenarios, and has a tendency to oversimplify things to one fundamental truth. Some insights that I've gained as an INFJ, through my ISTP ex was his sensory skills and ability in being present. He would notice all the little berries and mushrooms during our hikes, that I would have otherwise totally missed being an INFJ. I'd love to learn about which types would best match with which in an ideal scenario, if it hasn't been done already.
I’m an INFJ and I’m spontaneous as long as I plan it.🤣 The problem I have is with my N and my J. The N makes me act outwardly like a P. My N can sometimes (mostly I get things right away and can’t explain why I think something) take a while to “get it” “have an insight” however you want to call it and until I get it I keep gathering info. But I agree that I funnel information, I generally have a working theory and I seem to mostly gather data to support my theory. I don’t know if anyone else relates to that because as an INFJ I feel I’m odd. Yes I’m rambling as I said I can’t explain well! Love the videos Frank thanks for trying to explain the almost unexplainable.
No, I’m pretty much the same. (also INFJ by the way) For example, I hate talking to people if I haven’t planned it out / played it out in my brain beforehand, and often I end up misinterpreting things that people say because I mistakenly thought it had something to do with a random topic I was thinking about. I think I’m rambling too...
I'm an INFJ and I don't like being limited mainly in time tables (which is described here as a P trait) and planning my day in advance. It's like I'm being tamed by time but at the same time I can't get anything done without planning. I won't do anything that I haven't planned beforehand. I pretty much agree with everything else. Also about jumping hobbies as P types do,I can't do that. It takes me ages and lots of information and insights to convince myself to get into anything new. Hell I can't even watch a show or movie without reading about its theme, reviews etc. and then convince myself to finally start watching it. As an N type I like to see why the things are happening ,make a theory about it and then gather information to support that theory rather than just seeing everything as facts. From what I understood here is that xNxJ are likely to be convergent . Like converging and linking everything into one.
These videos by Frank James are fascinating. They not only help me understand myself better, but also other people whose thought process would otherwise be a mystery to me.
I've just realized how the letters-based description does apply in that J types have the perceiving function in its introverted form (and vice versa). Two ways of describing Ne, Ni, Se, Si. . .
Thanks Frank, after a while of slight kinda thinking I'm an INFP over INFJ I can be sure I'm right. I love learning new things with my 101 hobbies and interests and spontaneous obsessions
ESFP here.. everytime I get a new hobby/game, I end up reading/watching videos about it so much that by the time I'm done, I'm already ready to jump on a new hobby 😂 I swear I cannOT complete any task
ENFP here. From when I was in high school and my friends knew what they wanted to do for the rest of their lives and I was like “but I want to do all of the things, and see all of the places in the world, and meet all of these different nationalities and cultures and learn how they view and integrate with the world... how am I supposed to choose just one career path when I can do many different careers”?! It truly is this unquenchable thirst for knowledge and experiences we have. ENFPs aren’t just fun party people. We want to know about EVERYTHING and EVERYONE! Usually in a very disorganized chaotic way, but our quest for knowledge is often overlooked. Thanks FJ for explaining this so well 😀🙌
My best friend is an ENFP. She has also wanted to do all of the things, and see all of the places. And she makes every experience so much fun, no matter what it is. She helps the rest of us open our eyes, broaden our interest, and deepen our curiosity.
as a INFP with general structure I think we are a bit missunderstood. Well you see, yes we change hobbies way to often but I can stick to one hobby forever but I'll always have one or two more hobbies aside that I'll change very often. I can master one field and have a little knowledge from everything else.
I believe my sisters and I are all 3 I - - J’s. Not sure about our N/S or T/F status lol. Is that unusual for siblings to have such huge portions of their personalities in common with each other?
Huh, this was a very good video. I especially like how you describe how to quickly tell which types see the world by just looking at the second and last letter in their type name.
Personality Hacker had a truly great podcast about J vs P. They said J's order their outer world to create inner spontaneity, where P's create inner order to support outer spontaneity. 🤯 It's been helping me so much!
I think you overlooked a key point regarding P types. Yes, they like to cast a broad net but many do so while trying to find connections between the various things they are exploring. It isn't just moving on to the next thing. It is finding that nugget of truth, that idea that combines different aspects to form a more coherent thought, plan or piece of research. It is exploring a topic in a more detailed and nuanced way rather than focusing on one aspect and failing to take into account other aspects which on the face of it may be irrelevant but actually has a deep connection which then branches into various other aspects and factors. It is probably why Ps are good at holding grudges. They recall so many more details of the things that annoyed them and showed lack of respect or consideration.
I like the way that for my extracurricular activities on college I choose Investing class and other named How to mix drinks. And my major is languages. By an ENTP
YOU ARE INTO LANGUAGES FINALLY ANOTHER HUMAN WHO LANGUAGES YAY THIS IS GREAT BUT ALSO LEARNING LANGUAGES IS HARD WHICH IS WHY I'M MAKING MY OWN IF YOU RESPOND TO THIS I WILL WRITE YOU A 6 PARAGRAPH ESSAY ON THE INTRACACIES AND CONFUSING SIMPLICITY OF MY LANGUAGE ALSO IM NOT YELLING AT YOU THIS IS HOW I SPEAK

INTJ as Babysitter: "What is this hell...." INTJ During horror movie: "You do know that the trope of suspense is to have you imagine the worst case scenario right? It's not scary if you understand the movie troupes and can predict the plot."
I get entj and entp 50/50. I love receiving guidelines and knowing exactly what I have to do and planning my day and trips. At the same time I seek change and spontaneity. I've been looking to switch my job because I think I've learned everything from my current job and feel like there isn't much personal growth here and I feel LIMITED. Also I look at homes in different cities online because I lived in the same city for 10 years now and I want to switch up my environment and go to a completely new place and meet new people and just bring a change into my life. Also I am always down for a spontaneous hangouts and random social events.
In terms of MBTI there is a big difference between ENTJ and ENTP. From what you said, I would think you are ENTJ. Se is in the conscious stack so ENTJs are up for exploring like a child to gain new experiences. For an ENTP, although new experiences are nice, it is more about new ideas. ENTPs debate to gather new ideas. ENTJs use their voice to get things done and make sure things are working instead of to gather new ideas. Another way to look at the function stack difference would be the cognitive loops when stressed. ENTPs will disregard their logic and reasoning and go into a Ne - Fe loop while an ENTJ would disregard their Ni... and Since I am an ENFP... Ni is difficult for me to comprehend. so *insert your understanding of NI here* and go into a Te - Se loop. I also have found something interesting when taking the 16personalities dot com test... I can get my percentages of P/J to switch places with my A/T ... and although no matter what I do I am an ENFP-A... *IF* My A is a 90% then my P will be a 70% and if I try to be less assertive taking the test then my A will be 70% BUT my P will be 90%. I know 16 personalities dot come is a mixture of MBTI and OCEAN test but I wonder if others see this "fourier transform"
Me personally as an INFP don't have too much problems working with extroverts, but often having more troubles with S types. Lots of conversations between me and S types ended with "You can only see things right in front of you and never learn any lessions" vs. "You're so off the ground and tries to predict everything without clear facts". N and S are the biggest difference between people sharing ideas for what I see personally😂
I'm also INFP and I definitely agree. I have always had more extroverts in my life than introverts, and extroversion is not what makes things challenging. With S types I always think, "Why can't you see the bigger picture? Why can't you see what's really happening here?" While the S types look at me like I've just sprouted a second head.
This is interesting. Helped me understand how you (I) can kinda be 2 types at once. In my 20s I used to always test as INFP. Mid thirties and beyond I always test as INFJ. I have both modes at different times. Gathering too much info /options then at other times limiting and simplifying. Same thing with spontaneity /planning. I flip modes lol. But INF never varies.
⚡Let me know in the comments what you're curious to learn about the 16 Personalities!
Why do us ENFPs gotta be so weird? :) lol jk I like it. Unless you actually do have an answer for that...I'd listen.
I've always wondered what makes a personality type. What causes the different function preferences?

Cheezy burgers, my infp's tiny miny brainy couldn't tolerate this kind of intellectual😔
Also being completely unable to follow the discipline of others and equally unable to create your own.
Same lol

Thank you, that was so thoughtful of you, and you saved me & others time.
[T]You thought to take all he said and predict what others might need if confused [N]. Said it in fewer words and refined it [J]. Since you didn't ask anyone before taking time to make this summary; I do believe you are as stated [I]ntrovert.
Future-focused?

This here skill is the one thing I really want to learn. The actual "doing" bit. Analysis paralysis is a bitch

I feel like the other extreme (not giving your kids any direction or discipline) is a worse parenting style.
same here 🤦🏾♀️
They believe things that "Authority figures" told them even if they didn't observe it for themselves
They are also judgemental of anybody who feels or thinks differently or has different ideas than them
My curiosity and joy for new things was seen as naïveté and being irresponsible.
I agree it's better as an Adult as you can finally do what you think is best and discover new things for yourself and even explore even new areas you were holding back from.
I wish I had had an ENFP or INFP mother
It was painful at times
I was in a similar situation.

Sometimes I wish I could just stick with one thing to learn a lot about and be satisfied with that but either I lose interest after learning the basics or I start to feel like I’m missing out on other things by spending so much time on just one thing. I am infp
Hi Frank! I just want to say thank you because all of your video i know myself better now. INFJ-T here! 🤗
The way you explain things is unique and magic. We can easily understand! ENFJ here. I just love your channel. Start watching to know more about the INFJs. Keep doing what you do! ❤️
9:10 "Everyone can use S and N... Otherwise you wouldn't be a functioning human being"
Me: oh... That explains a lot!!!!
I’d love to see a side by side comparison of the difference between the introverted and extroverted types. I’ve tested right in the middle between infj and enfj.
The difference has also to do with the functions the types use the most
I've seen a way to find your type somewhere in Instagram:
First you find your extroverted function, because it's the most obvious one.
So, do you relate more to Fe, Te, Ne or Se? (as an xnfj you should relate more to Fe)
If you chose Fe or Te, you must now see whether you relate more to Ni or Si.
@@reonaranara i dont know about that, ENFJs are not always the most Extrovert type. Im an ENFJ and i always doubted because of being almost 50/50 with the I or E. Its very personal i guess. I think its also reading through the types and seeing where you relate more too. Infjs and enfjs are more differnet than they seem
I'm the same, jutst with ISFJ and INFJ.
Thank you for clearing the fog for those of us still trying to understand the letters! You just make it make sense.
Kinda bright in here with all the light bulbs that went off while watching this.
He always has new questions about the world, he sees different patterns everywhere and he skips from one thing to the other. And everytime he stumbles on a new question I try to answer it by recognizing the same old patterns and it's really funny XD. So yeah, pretty accurate video in my case! Thanks Frank!
As an INFJ, you nailed it. I want just enough info for the task I have in front of me, but I’m also joining the dots of the world all the time to make sense of the craziness. I love perfecting missions a tiny bit at a time, everything is compartmentalised... of course no-one ever knows because I’m always home and keeping away from people because people are a massive pain / drain.
Word.
Thanks to the board, I didn’t forget the subject of the video :).
Thanks!
J's - "looking for new information in the old"
No Wonder I drive people Nuts!!🤣😅
Thank you!!🙏
Yes, the deep diving for new knowledge in an established subject. The thrill of digging deep, deep into the Google search function during my latest research jag and after having scrolled through link after link, the frustration of seeing the same set of facts over and over ... FINALLY mining that one, priceless new tidbit out of some random internet article!
INTP here. But I find it weird that as an employee at work I am the person who always get things done, right away, efficiently (as my co-workers/boss say) and fast. But when it comes to my side jobs and hobbies, I procrastinate until the last minute.
Now that I managed to get one of those side jobs as my main income source and quit my day job, I get more overwhelmed each day with the amount of projects I have in mind, kept hoarding information on how to do it, and ended up not doing it for months until I ran out of money and need to do it. 😅😅😅
THANK YOU FOR THIS OMG. IM SHARING THIS WITH EVERYONE

Surface knowledge about everything, in-depth knowledge about random things
You are a genius. That explanation about the P types and J types differences makes so much sense.
Nowadays, all I think about is the Myers briggs types 😂 its impossible for me to interact with someone without subconsciously typing them in my mind 😁
Frank your videos are such a gem! Thanks for sharing your wisdom and entertainment
I got so many deep insights from this video!! 🙏🏻

I see being concerned with tangental data points, rather than working outward from the center of the composition [that is reality] is a sort of “cart before the horse”, and may even be detrimental to the recognition of the hidden
When one puts together a puzzle, they find first an area of focus from which they can make sense of the pieces within the composition.
@@danielwake2430, yes. I meant no offense or implication, nor did I take offense. I was simply processing the statement in it's whole. I think that all in all, Frank James's point is very spot on.
Discovering this channel has enriched my life so much. Perhaps it's because I'm a J type that since I found out about mbti and personality types I've become as o interested and obsessed with it. And you explained it soooo well ✨✨✨⭐👏🏻

Any other INFP's with a bedroom that is a graveyard of random interests that were gathered, maybe tried out for a bit, and then never taken up again?
For me as an INFP, in a relationship, I constantly ask the same questions in different ways just to make sure that I have gotten the right answer. Or I tell someone something many times until they start to get annoyed because I keep repeating myself and yeah, NO LIMITS WITH INFORMATION. NEVER ENOUGH.
I feel like that NP metaphor of a reverse funnel, of grabbing one thing and blowing it up is so incredibly accurate
I could talk about one subject, and relate it a dozen other subjects and I can't just condense anything. But I am great on expanding on things
Love this!! I'm thinking I better grab another notebook when I'm out tomorrow. 😁
Agreed! ENFP here and have got like 20 different hobbies going on at once 😂😂❤️
Can you please make a video where you talk about which relationship between the 16 personalities would work the best? I've heard about ENFJ×INFP or ENTJ×INFP and ESFJ×ISFP and so on
Paused at 4:53 .
I'm ISFP and now I know why I learned 5 languages to certain degree and never mastered any 😂
As an INFP I definitely keep myself busy with hobbies or researching interests and my husband is an ISTJ and man... everything you stated is so true. I want more when I hear a story but my husband just wants the story and no backstory 😂
As a infj I can say that I dive incredibly deep into the things that I already know and that how I learn new things lol 😆
Well I'm definitely a "P" type because the only way my ducks will ever be in a row is if I shoot them and line them up. 😂
So flipping this around, someone should be able to figure out if they're an SP, NP, SJ or NJ by finding out what they struggle with most which would be their opposite preference?
For example, an NP would struggle with SJ type things most (organizing the sensory) and an NJ would struggle with SP most (experiencing the sensory), right?
yes, looking at weaknesses helps a lot with determining type!
@@FrankJames well, great! It's nice to finally think I might understand. This video was very helpful.
There has happened many times when me an infp explaining or introducing new things to my isfj mom but I really appreciate that she always listens to me with patience. Oh I’m about to over talking but just want to say I love my her so much 🥰
Frank: they have to stick with what they know, they dont want the new.
Me, an infj, whos been reading the same books again and again, because i dont want to know about any others:
I....see.
I don't think it is so much about not getting a lot of information for xxx J, it is about doing something with it or understand it for which... you do need to refine it, classify it, organize it, etc. for which at some point exploring stops, but we will take in more info, we would just have to integrate it in a system.
Want to know about everything in the world but too lazy to do it

Like converging and linking everything into one.
i'm an infj very much the same
These videos by Frank James are fascinating.

So weird. I am ENFJ but I really recognize myself in your story.
Being an ESFJ, I limit myself to lots of things, like how many of your videos I watch a day, or how many comments I'll briefly skim over 😂
as a INFP with general structure I think we are a bit missunderstood.
I'm glad you thank us for sitting through ads. I got a 30 second one for tiktok first. Even when muted it was torture.
