This is a great video for the beginner who wants to learn about darts, but also has some comical animations to keep everyone's interest.

Garage Darts is inspired by Cali's dart career. Over the span of 20+ years she has played darts, she has found too many people that know nothing about the game of darts! So came the idea to create a channel that takes the mystery out of the game. Her hope is to get more people involved in darts especially in America where it is a bit more obscure than in other countries.

thank you these videos are so helpful. What do you recommend a beginner do starting out to improve?
For accuracy, it is just a matter of practice. Focusing on a target, trip 20 let's say and just repetitive throws at it. It is a topic for another episode. Much of practice depends on what you are looking to improve. Stay tuned for future episodes where I will go over a few of my fav routines

So you must double out to 0 in order to win but you don't have to double in to start?
Correct. There are other versions of the game where you do have to double in. Usually it is a lower score to start at. 301 is usually what you start at if it is double-in. Thanks for the question!

what score do get if you hit outside the double? does that count for anything?
Like above the board basically? It's always 0. If you hit a single then it's of course the single number.
It counts as "no score" or zero points.

I dont understand the NO SCORE rule. you gave an example of having a 16 point left and missing the double 8 but hitting a single 16. how come that is NO SCORE when all the points i have left is 16? Hope you understand what i mean.

So, no score when you hit a single 16, but have 16 remaining is because you have to hit a double to end the game. Now if that dart had hit a single 14, you would still have 2 left, so that you could double out on the double 1. But hitting the single 16 leaves zero, so there is not a number left to take out on a double. Hope that makes sense! Thanks for the question!

Sorry I missed this message! So, in 501 you can not end the game on a single 16 if u have 16 left. You must end on a double. If you hit single 16, it is a bust, bc you can not throw another dart to double out, which u must do. If you hit a single 14 with 16 left that is ok, bc your next dart can be for double 1, ending on a double with the score of 16. ( not that I would recommend that route!) Double 8 would be the correct shot.
Don't want to sound pedantic, but it's TREBLE not Triple!!
