I think the Mothership palettes are a cohesive colour ‘story’. All the shades make sense together. The shades in the megas are too random and unrelated to each other which makes them too confusing.
i agree i think this is really it! with the mothership palettes you can tell they were made to enhance certain tones, or certain eye colours, and they're laid out in such a way that they're inspirational in and of themselves. i hadn't actually seen the mega palettes until this video but it just seems like a big ol' mess of whatever colours. which! for those with the eye for it i'm sure that's great but for me? nah i need someone to hold my hand and tell me what to put on my face 😂
Pretty eye looks Rebecca! The palettes are pretty but i think maybe we are just bored of the same stuff over & over again in my opinion. I don’t tend to reach for mine, however i do love my Mothership palettes on an evening out and i think that is what she needs to release maybe. On the other hand as well I’m just not wearing as much eye makeup as i used to as a few years ago so I’m also very selective with what i buy.
I bought the Celestial Jade and Astral Noir duos. You are now making me want to get that quint! I think I may. I ordered the Chanel quadrant because of the beautiful mixed shades you created in the Chanel video! You looked so lovely ❤❤
Hi Rebecca I love your videos❤I miss her mothership this year😢I feel she put her love into the mothership❤and wish she would have stuck to a completely different color story each year . With baked shades❤😊
Lovely colours. The blue glitter shadow is a very nice look on you, ms. Rebecca.I personally is more drawn to pink and purple. I don´t have any Mctrath-pallets myself, I kinda like my ABH eyeshadow pallets. As always thank you for your video 🥰
Funny you should do a video on Pat McGrath and mention Colourpop. I was looking at a couple small pallets on their website and noticed some larger ones that made me think of PM which really surprised me. I always thought elf was the brand that duped other popular brands at a much more affordable price point. Now I’ll admit I only have one small 4 pan pallet of hers so I’m not by any means an expert as to which specific pallet of PM’s the Colourpop pallet was duping… sorry bout that! Oh and BTW it was part of their Bratz shadow pallet and pallet groupings. Thanks for another great video, Rebecca. The shadows looked beautiful on you!💖
Hi Rebecca 😊 Still enjoying my Roses a year + later. Amazing how they have lasted. Pat M… well a couple of thoughts. For the Holiday Megas I always have to pull in another pallet to ground those other very very colorful shades. So that brings us to the choice of shades that she picks for her pallets. Extremely colorful and in the case of the Megas, too many Colors. It’s like going to a restaurant and being menu overwhelmed and not being able to figure out what you want to order. Which brings us to the next thought. We’ve had several years of over colorful palettes and I think as an industry many of the brands took a break and released more neutral palettes to give some relief due to “color fatigue”. Another thought.. people expected her “special” shades. They were so unique and now due to possible cost problems these shades are gone. Also the packaging was so lux and beautiful. That’s gone too. The public felt they were really getting something “special” for the price. Those Mothership palettes were amazing. They seem to be gone now too. So the Uniqueness has disappeared. There are so many other brands that produce good quality shadows with the same colors/shades and PM has kinda lost the “unique “ status. If she would produce some quads with those special shades I think that would bring back some interest to the brand. I find that the Megas are just too overwhelming. And honestly not cohesive when you look at them. This release remind me of the one she released..I believe in holiday 2022. She does tend to repeat herself. This is starting to remind me of the over releases from CT of pillow talk. Time to do something different. Hugs 🤗 ~CeCe ❤🍁🌷🌹
I discovered PM when I found beauty RUclips about 4 yrs ago - I rushed out to get several Motherships, yet in all honesty I never use them. I'm 62 yo and don't have a lot of lid space to work with and most of the looks are beautiful on young woman with large lids who make beautiful looks. Frankly, it doesn't really bother me that there are no more Motherships coming out. I would skip and did skip this release. I have so much already which sits neglected....
The blue glitter shadow looks good on you. I am an eighties girl and used to love to do wildly colored frosted shadows. I had a beautiful Borghese trio with Aurora, an iridescent pink and an emerald and dk blue. (My fave) I think she was the first to have shadow sticks also. I live vicariously (makeup-wise) through some of you😀 makeup RUclipsrs because I don’t wear much shadow anymore as it bothers my eyes. Just for going out mainly. I still think it is so beautiful though. Thanks for the info and banter.❤️
I love your hair!!!! I own a couple of the mega palettes, and I do use them. I think I will get this one because the mattes look great and I am excited about a couple of metallics, especially the lilac shade. But, I am waiting to get it on sale.
The Pat MGrath brand was sold a few years ago and that is when the cheaper packaging and more basic palettes started coming out. I think it was just a new owner wishing to capitalise on the brand. I bought the subliminal mothership as my first luxury palette and I was not impressed. The mattes blend out into nothing, the purple didn't show up at all, the blue just blended out into black so it looked like a weird bruise and the special shades were so gritty it felt like sandpaper on my eyes. I even got if for 40% off and still felt ripped off (I live in a country where you can't return makeup as easily as the US). So, yes, small vent! I also thought the colour stories were manipulative instead of genius, because if you were a big fan of green for example, you had to buy multiple different palettes to get all the greens. I think it was a case of everyone telling you the palettes were amazing, genius, revolutionary! But in reality not so much and now indie brands and other luxury brands far outstrip them in shimmers, multichromes, holos etc.
Ooohhh…..thanks for the flower code. They have a hydrangea bouquet that’s super pretty. I am not really interested in Pat McGrath anymore 🤷🏼♀️. I am much more into super simple, plain looks now. That big palette is pretty but nowadays I need a sparkly/satin shade to be paired next to a cohesive matte (I just don’t want to think). So I’m much more interested in the duos but am still not interested in buying for some reason. Have a nice day!
Oh hydrangeas are gorgeous yes. I think it’s just not very current to have Weil look on the eyes and that makes the PML a little less appealing. I agree
I think the reason we don’t go back to them is when you open it to try and come up with a look the busy packaging decor just overwhelms the brain and I know I’m always saying Eh before I ever even fully open one. I also think if the layout of the shades was set up to give us automatic color stories that might help as well.
For me a no, i cannot handle these formula's anymore. And if i could, i would want a Mothership. But lovely video, everything looks super beautiful on you!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩😘😘😘😘
I’m not reaching for my holiday mega palettes either. The last one I bought was maybe two years ago. There are so many sparkly colors and not many satin or matte ones. I know that these are holiday palettes but still, I’m not going to a new party every day! I love my Mothership palettes. I can do more with them. I’m likely not going to get these holiday ones. Which I can’t believe I’m saying 😮. Oh and I really like this neckline on you. It’s very flattering!
Ooohh I LOVE LOVE LOVE how you styled your hair! Gorgeous!!! I ordered the Pat MegaPalette, a quint, and a duo. (The exact same duo and quint you got) 3 weeks later they hadn’t even been shipped. 😮 They couldn’t even tell me WHEN they’d ship. I asked to cancel and they said no. I appealed that decision and they finally cancelled it. I’m on my way driving to Parents’ Weekend in Ohio, but when I get back, I’ll go get the Mega and the green duo at Ulta. (I don’t think they have the quints) While the brand has completely lost its magic for me(the color stories lack excitement and her best formulas-the baked shades-she has abandoned), but I have actually loved the formula that’s in the quints, especially those creamy, blendable mattes. For me this formula is the current most exciting thing the brand has going for it. Since it’s the formula used in the Mega, I’m happy to have it. I think the reason I feel “meh” about the brand is that she set the creative and formula bar so high for her brand back in the day. Now it’s nice/fine like a lot of brands…but nothing like what we know Pat and the brand is capable of giving us. I do use my Pat Megas, but not anywhere near as much as my Motherships. The Motherships are special. The Megas are like any other palette I have. I have used the quints a bunch because I love the formulas, so I plan to use this Mega more!
PARENTS WEEKEND!!! Can't wait to hear all. Be safe! HAVE FUN! Wait, so you asked to cancel the order and they said no??? OH. MY. GOD. That's a new one.
I have the "more boring quint" it's nice and I can use it a fair bit I HATE the weird print on the packaging. For me the motherships felt curated - there was a detailed break down on the website of how to use the shades it felt like thought had gone into it to make it so it was easy to pick up a pallette and make it work. The megas feel like a load of shades just thrown together. The motherships it felt like you were buying into a vision.
Oh all I wanna talk about is the swatch video Natasha released two hours ago from her Roxa palette...it's purple Rebecca!! ✨️💜✨️💜✨️💜✨️💜 I need your thoughts & opinion 😊
I am a big fan of the quint size. Pallets with more than 9 colors or so overwhelm me. I love fun colors but I don’t want to deal with so many options. I like to open my pallet and then use only the colors in that particular pallet. But too many colors- I’m going to take too long. And then I’m going to wonder- was that the best combo of colors I chose? You know what I mean? I have a mini PML pallet and I love it. I also have the old subliminal pallet from her and love it but I think that has 10 colors. I like that one too- it’s the color Story. I love. Not a novel- too much content. Lol
I love the roses you have in the background so I went ahead & ordered just now with your code & got pink roses in a white marble square box. I’m so excited! What a great cause for Breast Cancer Awareness! I’ll have to get some as gifts as well! How do you prop yours up? I want to display them at an angle as well. Thanks Rebecca! 💐💕
I use my mothership the most due to the color story. It’s neutral and cohesive. I’m going to be totally honest. I got the big colorful palette at TJ maxx less than a year after it released and just the other day I got last year’s palette there with the two blushes and 9 pan eyeshadow palette for $19.99. It was $76 last year. I’m afraid I would buy this and find it at TJ maxx next Oct. for $19.99. That would annoy me and I don’t need any eyeshadow palettes right now. I bought a couple quints there for $12.99 as well.
Hello Rebecca. Good Morning. Thank you for all of the work you do. I can relate to you in regard to your feelings pertaining to the Pat Mcgrarh brand. I think her brand used to be cutting edge, avant garde, and symbolized the height of fashion. She still produces this on the runway. However, her brand seems to have lost its creative edge. As someone who works in Corporate america her brand seems to have embraced corporate business practices. If I had to guess id bet that there is a group of people sitting around the table discussing profits and losses, cost of good sour, and labor costs. I think when makeup is being produced, this is what is being considered and not the creative artistic license that was at the forefront in the beginning. There is a difference between great business and great art. I feel now that the business aspect is far more emphasized by the brand.
You have such a good point, Rebecca. I completely lost interest in PM and I used to be one of those crazy ladies who saw the announcement of something new coming and already knew i needed it before I found out what it actually was! So quite a dramatic change of attitude. Maybe it's the similarity of all new releases. I think last time I got excited was when the new pink under eye powder was released (i know, not what you'd normally get excited about) and even that wasn't wow'y at all. Looking at the holiday palette and the swatches, it's lovely, but again, as you said, will i really go back to it after the first use? So sad... And with the holiday mega palettes, maybe it's the abundance of possibilities? LOL it's never a colour story and there's nothing wrong with it, but maybe it becomes too much for some and we tend to go for "easy" and cohesive palettes? Just a though.
😅😅😅 my grandma said the same thing 😂 🤣 😮❤❤ & if the palm of your hand was itchy you were going to get $$$😅😅😮 ohh those silly loving grandma's of ours😊❤❤❤❤
Ooh I wasn’t excited for the mega palette until I saw this. Love the looks you made. Maybe I will pick it up even though I find nowadays I don’t wear too many bright colors . 🖤🤎😅
I think that Pat McGrath has been trying to please everyone with the holiday collections by giving every color possible. Technically every year is a rainbow shimmer palette with pink/red based mattes. She constantly uses the same five matte colors. If she changed out the mattes, in that palette, it would look way more unique. I personally think they should pick a theme and focus their colors around it.
Hi Rebecca- Roseforever products are beautiful! I bought a bouquet for Mother's Day and also a candle (for me)! ❤❤❤🎉I am not sure what happened w Pat McG. The packaging is no longer really weighty and looks like Tarte or Color Pop. The Palettes offer variety but in a random way. (Not that I'm a shadow expert)! I bought a mini pink powder- I like it. And the blushes again aren't really the same formula but maybe it's the pacing that's turned me off!! 😮😂Ty Rebecca!!🎉🎉🎉
That green eyeshadow looks great on you. It is hard to take photos of the ingredients on some of those shiny boxes! Unfortunately the times that the information is really needed is when it's not available on line, because then there is no way to know if products might be okay. Pat McGrath never puts ingredients online and Chanel has not done so for the holiday collection either, for instance. The biggies that I am interested in are aluminum powder (EWG = 10), fragrance and chemical sunscreens, and some people also may care about talc. So I wonder if you could just check the box for those particular things? Thank you for being so helpful! ❤ I have a couple of Motherships (which i virtually never use) and a couple of quads (which have been a little more usable for me). The formulas are nice but the shadows are so pigmented that they really are a challenge for me. I'm sure i would be more of a fan if 1). i liked bright eye looks, 2) I had darker skin or. 3) I were a pro makeup artist. I just don't really think she is making these products for women like me. That being said, i do like that green shadow and might buy it if I knew it didn't have aluminum powder in it.
You’re right. It’s only really needed when it’s not on the website and yet it’s just impossible to take good photos of the back of those boxes and everyone’s telling me they’re skipping it because of that so I’ve got to figure something out here and regroup because I totally and completely understand the point you’re making here
I,wish people would realize that pink is not the only color for cancer. September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and no companies do anything to promote awareness of this far deadlier cancer. My Mom died of ovarian cancer 30 years ago and we are no better at promoting ovarian cancer awareness in 2024 than we were in 1994. By the time a woman is diagnosed with ovarian cancer, it often becomes a death sentence.
My answer to your question is that I think the Motherships are better curated, the Mega palettes feel too much, lovely but too much, too much choice, too much colour, too big, too overwhelming. Have I gone on too much!? 🤣💕
I have 1 of her mega palettes. It sat for about a year before I started using it. There is no cohesive look to it so I would use it as one and done shades or I would have to pull out other palettes to combine with it. I would not purchase one again.
To me the PM mega palettes have always felt like they have dissonant colors which have some combination of not going together particularly well, or slightly desaturated. Yes, this palette has a gorgeous pop of blue and purple, but they don't seem to belong or go with the other colors. If you take out the three pops of color, you are left with a basic neutral/peachy palette. Meh. It just doesn't seem like much of a holiday palette to me. I would love to see another of her Mothership palettes. There is where the magic is. The special shades, the thoughtful color scheme. I think people aren't not wearing eyeshadow anymore, but rather that the makers aren't releasing much that is interesting or very appealing. Take Natasha Denona for example, she has released three palettes in the past 5 months. The Golden Palette ( a nice color story), the I Need a Warm palette ( not too different from the I Need a Nude and the Golden Palette so it is kind of reductive), and now the Roxa palette which is supposed to be a purple palette, but which is in fact a pink palette with pops of purple. Pass, no thank you! Makeup by Mario has just released a drab version (Ethereal Eyes Moonlight) of his very successful Ethereal Eyes palette, but it is a poor cousin. It is quite boring. Pass again. Anastasia Beverly Hills holiday palettes are a couple of palettes which seem to be a combination of dupes of Makeup by Mario's Ethereal Eyes palette. If you want to get interesting palettes you need to go to the indie brands like Fantasy Cosmetica, Oden's eye, etc. One bright spot this season, Patrick Ta seems to have a very beautiful eyeshadow release which screams holiday!
To me, motherships are the brand prada, and megas are miu miu. I cherish the motherships, but I find myself using megas more, especially the one with mattes so that I can pair with an indie multichrome. There's so many amazing eyeshadow formulas and color stories in every echelon of makeup that high-end legacy brands are not as special imo. Also niche fragrances and indie makeup are so much more accessible that what PML and maybe Creed for fragrance (Nishane's Hacivat imo does a better job these days with pineapple) filled in the mainstream market are filled by those imo. Oof adept, glaminatrix, ensleyreign, unearthly, oden's eye, and Asian beauty multichrome color stories, the mainstream market could never. And RIP to Slumberhouse's Norne for a forest smelling fragrance I wish I still had.
The Pat McGrath experience used to feel special. The colors were unique, the finishes were groundbreaking, the packaging was luxurious, the products were difficult to get (which created desire). Now, her palettes have a lot of near repeat shades, she's putting out fewer fashion-forward textures, the cardboard packaging for pretty much every collection does not feel luxurious in the slightest and, perhaps most damaging, she's trained her customers to wait for a sale and that there will always be a restock or re-release if a product sells out. There is something to be said for exclusivity and the power of an experience. Even though the products still work well and can create a beautiful look, the full sensory experience of getting a difficult-to-acquire palette that was lacquered with a beveled mirror, and was just expensive enough for someone to feel the pain of buying it, and then dipping into a sparkly, almost other-worldly shade before gliding it onto the eyes and being amazed at the payoff is irreplaceable.
I am finding myself ‘over’ Pat McGrath and her prices, especially when I see her stuff at TJ and Marshall’s. I got last year’s holiday palette there for $29 and never use it. The formula is fine, but the chaotic color story makes me never reach for it. 🤷🏻♀️
PMG is really not my favorite. I had 2 neon colorfix tubes that were awful and didn't provide opacity, and I owned Divine Rose I and Bronze Seduction and after a year of not using either, I gave them to my sister. I think the shimmer/metallic shades were kind of prone to hard-pan and also were more satin, and the mattes definitely were pigmented but were hard and dry and took work to blend. And the special shades were the only ones I saved. Well, I saved 2 or 3 of the two palettes, but I don't even use those because they're not as good as indie multichrome formulas. So, yeah, this is why I only buy indie eyeshadow now. But with large "desk palettes," I absolutely get overwhelmed by choice unless it's very well-organized or is a rainbow palette where you know what's in the palette at all times, closed or not.
I used to covet those mothership pallets. I did buy one of the 6 pan pallets and a few quads and you know what, no hate, but I was so unimpressed it cured me of wanting a mothership. The formulas are mid, imo. I have a great collection and decluttered every PM pallet I’ve ever bought. They have a ton of fallout, the mattes are dry and formulas are inconsistent and some quite patchy. Not a fan.
my jaw dropped at first when i saw this - i've never seen this size palette from pat mcgraph before (probably living under a rock. its very cozy here)! but the more i saw of it the more i realised.... man. i just dont need this. its so expensive too. it seems like a lot of mid-toned colours, too? like if you changed this palette to greyscale it all sort of feels like its very similar in intensity. very meh. which.... i dunno at this price point! i want to be foaming at the mouth!
There was a period of time where PM was putting out products that where exciting and at the height of eyeshadow innovation. Then Indy brands like Oden’s Eye came along and started cranking out incredible unique pallets for a fraction of the price.novelty was lost. These looks aren’t really trending anymore, and to be honest, I have a Morhership and her Bridgerton pallets, and although they are beautiful they are really overpowering. I am not a professional make up artist, but I could be, and I have never used one of my pallets and felt that I looked great. I want to love them, but I don’t.
Honestly I haven't purchased from Pat in a long time. I just find it bores me. There are only so many golds and pinks a person wants or needs. I feel like she missed a great opportunity to create a mothership with greens or blues or anything other than pinks and golds tbh. Her customer service is seriously lacking to be honest. There's just nothing catching my attention from the brand and that's been the case for quite some time
Geez, you’re making me think so early this morning. I haven’t bought anything from PM since she 1st released blushes. For me, it’s a combination of reasons. 1. Terrible customer service….consistently. It felt like she didn’t care. 2. Being turned off by all the hype. I was definitely being influenced, and had to buy right away! Same with Lisa Eldridge. Something started to feel fake about it. 3. Realized I’m a neutral lover at heart, and was not using her pallets, or only using some of the shades. 4. Packaging…who has room for them? 2 & 3 are the main reasons I’ve been able to resist everything she’s put out since the blushes (which I bought several of, and have decluttered all of them). It’s helpful to go through your makeup and really take a critical eye to what you actually enjoy using, and what is just taking up space and wasting your money.
What I have never seen from Pat McGrath is a nude palette. I get it - she doesn’t want to be like every other brand but as a fair warm toned middle aged woman ….. There is not a single palette that I can wear. Pink makes me look sick, the golds tend to make me look jaundiced because it pulls out the yellow tones in my skin. Cool tones and purples are way too harsh …… I just find that most of her palettes don’t make sense. I’d have to buy 4 motherships to get one eye look. The formulas are beautiful and I’ve been waiting for 10+ years for a shimmery everyday palette and year after year I’m disappointed. What I don’t need is more green and purple eyeshadow.
I haven’t purchased from PML for a long time. I’ve lost interest in this brand, just like I’ve lost interest in CT🙄 I only own 1 mega palette, and I probably only use it once a year 😅 That was a waste of money…..PML marketing really put me off, not to mention all the repeating colour stories. Their marketing same as CT is just very outdated and overkilled.
For me personally, I've lost interest in PML. I don't think she is involved in the brand much now and it shows. No mothership, that was her best product well in the first few years, the astral blitz shades where amazing.i think because small indie brands are killing it now, the formulas that are coming from them are fantastic and they give us what we want. A lot of us who have discovered indie brands just aren't impressed by the mainstream brands now. Danessa Myricks has definitely taken Pat's crown 👑 in my opinion 😊
I think PML has lost their identity and that’s the biggest issue. Are they high end? Exclusives? Star Wars? Bridgerton? TJ max specials? And the one product that even anchored them the mothership they aren’t even doing. And yes you can still produce a great product but unfortunately that gets lost with poor customer service, past misleading underwhelming launches, and not respecting and listening to the consumer wants and concerns. May need to wipe the slate clean and rebrand altogether?
With all pat mcgraths shannagans I lost interest. Also charlotte tilbury repeating color story lost interest. I'm going back to dior and chanel looking for different oh and makeup by mario ethereal palettes
Hi Rebecca, lovely looks as always. My 10cents on PML. In the early years there was a big gap between what PML produced and what other brands produced. Her price was high but so was the perceived value of her products. Over time that gap started to close as other brands evolved and innovated, and yes I do believe there was a tipping point where the perceived value didn’t meet the price point she was asking especially with the absence of the baked shades. Constant sales didn’t help her either. Also, in the makeup market there have been overarching trends that I have noticed over the years. The era of the makeup artist brands (ND, PML, LE etc), then era of the indie brands, the luxury era, and currently we are in (or moving into) the Asian era, with lighter, softer no make up make up. The PML style of makeup has become a little outdated. I expect ND to lose some of her appeal soon as people tire of the almost constant releases. I know I don’t get excited about the ND brand anymore.
I totally agree with you on all the points. Especially perceived value. Once a brand looses its perceived value things go downhill and is competing with the past legacy of their own brand.
I think the Mothership palettes are a cohesive colour ‘story’. All the shades make sense together. The shades in the megas are too random and unrelated to each other which makes them too confusing.
I get it, I see where you are coming from.
i agree i think this is really it! with the mothership palettes you can tell they were made to enhance certain tones, or certain eye colours, and they're laid out in such a way that they're inspirational in and of themselves. i hadn't actually seen the mega palettes until this video but it just seems like a big ol' mess of whatever colours. which! for those with the eye for it i'm sure that's great but for me? nah i need someone to hold my hand and tell me what to put on my face 😂
I hear you on the eyeshadow, I've been doing the same!
I bought the Celestial Jade and Astral Noir duos. You are now making me want to get that quint! I think I may.
I ordered the Chanel quadrant because of the beautiful mixed shades you created in the Chanel video!
You looked so lovely ❤❤
It's a beautiful collection. I love how you can combine the shades.
Hi Rebecca I love your videos❤I miss her mothership this year😢I feel she put her love into the mothership❤and wish she would have stuck to a completely different color story each year . With baked shades❤😊
I know. I feel you.
The flowers are beautiful again!!!
I LOVE them too!
Beautiful flowers and a worthy cause 🩷🌹🩷 I kind of like the Luminous Legends Mega palette Thank you
I think it’s so pretty too!
Lovely colours. The blue glitter shadow is a very nice look on you, ms. Rebecca.I personally is more drawn to pink and purple. I don´t have any Mctrath-pallets myself, I kinda like my ABH eyeshadow pallets. As always thank you for your video 🥰
Pink and purple are always lovely!
Everyone says they see PML in TJMax and Marshall’s but I never see them. I wish I did! I love her pallets and motherships. I use them all the time!
That’s funny. You’re right. I’ve never seen it either
Awww the colours look like so much fun!!
🥰🥰🥰
The shadows looked beautiful on you!💖
I’m not surprised though. Colourpop has been getting more and more bold with their palettes lately.
Hi Rebecca 😊
Still enjoying my Roses a year + later.
Hugs 🤗
~CeCe ❤🍁🌷🌹
It is definitely a strange time for the brand, I totally agree.
Yep. Very true!

Thank YOU for being here for it!
I love your hair!!!! I own a couple of the mega palettes, and I do use them. I think I will get this one because the mattes look great and I am excited about a couple of metallics, especially the lilac shade. But, I am waiting to get it on sale.
I agree, the lilac shade is gorgeous.
@@mayraholzer4542 I think this will be great for me too. I’ll wait for a sale.
It is definitely not the same brand it was a few years ago.
It is definitely a lot!
Oh the annual change over of the flowers 🩷🩷
Haha. It needs regal music
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty a trumpet
Love this years PML mega palette. Much better colourstory vs last years. This is a good italien quality. Everybody make pinks all the time.
It really is a beautiful palette, I agree.
For me a no, i cannot handle these formula's anymore. And if i could, i would want a Mothership. But lovely video, everything looks super beautiful on you!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩😘😘😘😘
Yes, I totally get it.
THANK YOU so much!
(I don’t think they have the quints)
While the brand has completely lost its magic for me(the color stories lack excitement and her best formulas-the baked shades-she has abandoned), but I have actually loved the formula that’s in the quints, especially those creamy, blendable mattes.
It is definitely a different direction than the motherships.
Oh all I wanna talk about is the swatch video Natasha released two hours ago from her Roxa palette...it's purple Rebecca!! ✨️💜✨️💜✨️💜✨️💜
I need your thoughts & opinion 😊
Oh those pink roses 🌹 they look like buttercream frosting!! Glorious 🩷
It’s kind of reminding me of a revamped Love palette.
PURPLE 💜 💟
I am a big fan of the quint size. Pallets with more than 9 colors or so overwhelm me. I love fun colors but I don’t want to deal with so many options. I like to open my pallet and then use only the colors in that particular pallet. But too many colors- I’m going to take too long. And then I’m going to wonder- was that the best combo of colors I chose? You know what I mean? I have a mini PML pallet and I love it. I also have the old subliminal pallet from her and love it but I think that has 10 colors. I like that one too- it’s the color Story. I love. Not a novel- too much content. Lol
That’s totally fair!
The square box just sits up beautifully on its own and the round rocks I have, I lean back against the lid and I put the lid at an angle :)
It's so funny how the prices change so much. Sometimes it's just not worth it.
Hi lovely Rebecca looking forward to this ❤🤗
Thanks! I am so excited to share this collection with you
I ordered it !
❤️
It's definitely a different approach than what we used to see from her!
All good thoughts. All very good thoughts
😅😅😅 my grandma said the same thing 😂 🤣 😮❤❤ & if the palm of your hand was itchy you were going to get $$$😅😅😮 ohh those silly loving grandma's of ours😊❤❤❤❤
I wish I had the itchy palm one! Ha ha
In your opinion is the large holiday palette better than the Mothership XI: Sunlit Seduction?
None of even her best megas will even beat any of even the worst motherships. So sunlight seduction for the win for sure.
Ooh I wasn’t excited for the mega palette until I saw this. Love the looks you made. Maybe I will pick it up even though I find nowadays I don’t wear too many bright colors . 🖤🤎😅
It really is a pretty one
I think that Pat McGrath has been trying to please everyone with the holiday collections by giving every color possible. Technically every year is a rainbow shimmer palette with pink/red based mattes. She constantly uses the same five matte colors. If she changed out the mattes, in that palette, it would look way more unique. I personally think they should pick a theme and focus their colors around it.
I feel like the theme is sales. Like smaller sales but higher amounts of small sales rather than smaller amounts of large sales.
Hi Rebecca-
Roseforever products are beautiful!
Yeah, I'm not really sure what they were going for with those shades either.
I have a couple of Motherships (which i virtually never use) and a couple of quads (which have been a little more usable for me).
You are absolutely correct. That is very true
My answer to your question is that I think the Motherships are better curated, the Mega palettes feel too much, lovely but too much, too much choice, too much colour, too big, too overwhelming. Have I gone on too much!? 🤣💕
I agree!
Keep going. Never too much, my friend!
I have 1 of her mega palettes. It sat for about a year before I started using it. There is no cohesive look to it so I would use it as one and done shades or I would have to pull out other palettes to combine with it. I would not purchase one again.
It's definitely not an everyday palette.
I agree with everything you say here
To me, motherships are the brand prada, and megas are miu miu.
It is definitely a market saturated with amazing products.
I know what you mean!
I am finding myself ‘over’ Pat McGrath and her prices, especially when I see her stuff at TJ and Marshall’s. I got last year’s holiday palette there for $29 and never use it. The formula is fine, but the chaotic color story makes me never reach for it. 🤷🏻♀️
It is definitely a harder sell for sure
Yes, those color fix tubes were really disappointing.
Not a fan.
It’s kind of nice to be cured of the coveting and then you just save money and don’t have to have any feeling of FOMO
Theres definitely repeat shades in the new luminous legends unfortunately. No tapping into the well of creativity 😂❤
True true
Shoot Patrick Ta wants 42$ for his duos 😂 makes pats seem like colourpop prices 😂
Everybody is pretty outraged
my jaw dropped at first when i saw this - i've never seen this size palette from pat mcgraph before (probably living under a rock. its very cozy here)! but the more i saw of it the more i realised.... man. i just dont need this. its so expensive too. it seems like a lot of mid-toned colours, too? like if you changed this palette to greyscale it all sort of feels like its very similar in intensity. very meh. which.... i dunno at this price point! i want to be foaming at the mouth!
DONT GET ME WRONG. I WILL STILL PROBABLY PUT THIS IN MY CART AND THINK ABOUT IT. the mind is strong but the urge to buy eyeshadow is stronger.
Yeah, I hear ya.
Yes! You used to feel like it was at the forefront of innovation that's it. It felt like ooh we've developed this really special thing in our lab.
It’s very true. The independent competition came and just knocked them for a loop for sure
There's just nothing catching my attention from the brand and that's been the case for quite some time
Yes. You are not alone.
Oh I forgotten the customer service aspect. That’s so true
Mega has no story to sell.
Fair point
Yeah, I think a lot of people are feeling that way.
It's definitely a shame when you lose interest in a brand you used to love.
It is definitely a different era.
This explanation totally makes sense
With all pat mcgraths shannagans I lost interest. Also charlotte tilbury repeating color story lost interest. I'm going back to dior and chanel looking for different oh and makeup by mario ethereal palettes
Yes. BOTH of them! Agreed.
Yessss. It’s outdated. So true
