I love the AP forge carbon diver but it was never comfortable on my skinny wrist. This could be an alternative as the Daytona is extremely comfortable and being lighter with the carbon case is a plus for me. Also more low key than the standard Daytona.
I agree that the watch is badass. I just want to be able to trust that your opinions are genuine and not motivated by anything else. Big fan of your channel.
So let me get this right... I can counterfeit a Rolex case and dial... and call it a Rolex? How can I print Rolex on a dial not made by Rolex? How is a copycat case/dial different than just doing the movement while you're at it? Then you can get a panda for about $650 in China. Saved everyone $49,350.

Those cars are incredible, arguably better than the original...but if the body wasn’t made by Porsche and the engine wasn’t made by Porsche... it’s not a Porsche.

I am really liking the Hot-rodding concept with watches. Makes them individually unique to the wearer. I wore a Rolex to a business meeting where I was not the only one with a rolex. My rolex had a twin. Wouldnt mind making it a custom hot-rod
I have seen some Daytonas that have been modified with Ceramic bezel.. there is a company in Downtown LA that is selling two-tone Daytonas with Ceramic modified bezels. I am not sure if I would buy them..
There will always be a market for anything bespoke. Money is not concern for that segment of the market. The quality of these watches is its own niche. Very well done video!
People who stuck to the classic are afraid of the inovations, cause inovations bring a lot of beauty but risks too. Being classic has more "insurance"...
Great subject there a couple out in California doing the same thing with vintage Date -Just that style of watch dressing them up an Rolex is sueing them but like the watch shown they buy the original watch then customize it so if your buying the watch and feel like you should be able to do what you want .
Rolex will say there fake as not made by them. Same as modified car the dealer wont help if its been messed with and wont do warranty work. Rolex are in a legal battle with people messing around with there brand identity. Also insurance company's wont pay out on none genuine watches if anything happens to it.

Yep they are following the lead from Ferrari. Ferrari squashes anyone who meddles with their brand and products.. think RUF, Alpina etc they use their own name not Porsche or BMW..
I'm just worried the company might switch my original Rolex movement with some fake movement. How would you safe guard that? Personally, in my opinion, I would just wear my Rolex in its original form.

I believe the Artisans De Geneve, Juan Pablo Montoya was the first ones to customize a Rolex in 2003 with the skeleton dial Daytona. Bamford is just a rich family boy that made a hobby business.
People can do whatever they want with their property as far as I am concerned! If you want a custom watch, why not??? Unfortunately for me I don’t own a Rolex and if I had one I would probably leave it original, but when you have 10 Rolex watches and you are bored of the same, then why not?

Real question.. What's the difference between a "custom" daytona and a franken replica daytona? I feel like the luxury watch world, where as before was very black/white... is starting to show signs of grey... and then it becomes extremely confusing to decipher between "real" and "fake"
I dont take them as being the real deal in a sense. But theire heart is indeed authentic, same goes for car tuning companies. Customs do show each individual personality and that makes them unic, unfortunally more costumized to a specific taste less likely it would resell specially for original collectors. People with good taste, that are simply personalities that do fit the general crowns, are the ones that are lucky with theire customs resellings. Same can be seen for custom companies that do create by themselves theire own pre made standard customs in an attempt of reselling them, where more theire custom work does fit the general community that theire prices target to, more they will resell and be known for. Costumes are simply filling a lack where the watch market lacks due to theire variation or upgrade limitations. But yeah when does an original loses it all dropping theire authentic tag is a point that each has theire own. If watch companies once do affiliations with such custom companies there we can call them more as being authentic watches. Mercedes AMG affiliate and BRABUS is a history that makes it seem more authentic due to both being tuning companies where AMG was the one getting affiliated. Afterall noone says that and AMG isnt a Mercedes. Unfortunally BRABUS gets no love since once they tune the car the warranty is done as so the car kinda stops being authentic in the own mercedes brand and this also happens with the watches. As so in a company point of view authentic is obly is done in theire attributed factories.
Eric, great vide as alway bud, those porches you’ve mentioned are NOT actual porches, they do look alike but are not! Porsche will even call them 1:1 replicas, I’ve been trough that and can tell you first hand....the watch you reviewed does look like Daytona however by Rolex standards is not a Rolex you can’t send it back to Rolex, you can’t service it by Rolex nothing......so yeah don’t be surprised if they call it a great replica! Based on that I’d be scared to dump 50k on something which by the way look super cool but it’s nether here or there.... Thank you for great video as always ! That Daytona is the best looking Daytona ive ever seen. My opinion. I'm honestly over rolex hype. The watches are the same from 50 years ago. They come out every year and change a color or make it 2 tone and people act like they are God. Yes, they make great watches, but they are not innovative at all
...but when customizing some cars it (hopefully) will make it drive better... customizing a watch, just destroys authenticity.... but again - whatever floats your boat... good topic🙂👍

My biggest concern with DiW who I’ve contacted is I’m concerned about the authenticity of the actual movement. They claim (and I have this in writing) they source all 100% brand new watches direct from the AD. We know this is impossible. They also said once they modify the watch, as a buyer I would not be given the unused parts of the original watch. They said they keep them, but they don’t sell them. I also find this difficult to believe. If they can source brand new watch’s from AD’s at volume. Their business plan is flawed. They would make more money just flipping those watches. They would also be the only people on the planet able to do this. So are they telling the truth? Or are they full of shit? If they are full of shit, are they actually using authentic movements?
probably you don't know about their prices. Their pieces cost much more than flippers watches. Also its very simple to check movements in diw watches. By the way they do a lot of open backs
I don't really see the point, if you want a full carbon watch go for another brand. It's not a Rolex is it let's be honest, the watch looks OK and they designed it well but at the end of the day they just stuck another companies name on the dial and stole hands and pushers.

Clients can customize a Rolex watch if they so desire. It's their watch. Anything customized obviously deviates from factory setting by a given %.

My biggest concern with DiW who I’ve contacted is I’m concerned about the authenticity of the actual movement. They claim (and I have this in writing) they source all 100% brand new watches direct from the AD. We know this is impossible. They also said once they modify the watch, as a buyer I would not be given the unused parts of the original watch. They said they keep them, but they don’t sell them. I also find this difficult to believe. If they can source brand new watch’s from AD’s at volume. Their business plan is flawed. They would make more money just flipping those watches. They would also be the only people on the planet able to do this. So are they telling the truth? Or are they full of shit? If they are full of shit, are they actually using authentic movements?
probably you don't know about their prices. Their pieces cost much more than flippers watches. Also its very simple to check movements in diw watches. By the way they do a lot of open backs

Thanks, I like it too, but know that everyone feels differently about customization when it comes to watches.
I don't really see the point, if you want a full carbon watch go for another brand. It's not a Rolex is it let's be honest, the watch looks OK and they designed it well but at the end of the day they just stuck another companies name on the dial and stole hands and pushers.

I think that taste has a lot to do with this. Custom watches is a topic that always has a large crowd on both sides of the fence 🤷♂️
