    I have this guitar and it's really good. It's gorgeous to look at, the neck is terrific for playing and the overall build quality is pretty awesome for the price. However, the pickups are really disappointing.

    Ibanez should really consider making more reverse headstock variations on their RGs and higher end guitars because it's not just beneficial for metal down tuning but the reverse headstock is also kinda very cool looking for metal shredding guitar and it is also the biggest reason why I got into their brand it's because how awesome looking their headstocks when it's reverse and I know some of you will probably say that "Yeah you'll probably just go for the solar guitars" hahaha I like Solars too because their guitars has reverse headstocks, but for me Ibanez has just perfect headstock shape for me not too pointy and not too curvy and body is just perfect for me and solar guitars is just too expensive for me they have no cheaper and affordable models so yeah this is just only my opinion, and I really hope in the future they would make a reverse headstock variations 😁

I think the last couple year Ibanez GIO series had improved 300% mostly due to the really hard competition on cheap high quality guitar from other companies like Sterling which is making really good instruments although they are not cheap but they are a reasonable price and a lot of options meaning models. I hope Ibanez add other models to the GIO line. Great demo thanks 👍😎

    1 thing i did notice about this guitar is that the tuners are positioned in a way that makes the bass side strings very long, unlike most guitars.
    Do you find this string length increase is better for drop lower tunings like D standard or drop C or B?
    Also does it make bending/vibrato easier or harder on certain strings?

    Not gonna lie. I have one and don't love it. The neck is very finicky. Easy to put too much hand tension and sharpen notes. The pickups are easily some of crappiest I've ever had. Going to definitely replace them with some Seymour duncans or something.

    Hey I have been playing for years. And have a few Axions which I frickin love. But boy I also love the hell out of my 4 GIO 7s I have and I have like 5 GIO 6's along with the RG8(the one that's like 500). I'm proud of my more expensive guitars cause those we a goal I accomplished. And I wanted them so badly. But my GIOs all were amazing buys with perfect setups not tuning issues and not really a must need for pickup upgrades. Which I did on my 2 blue GIO 7 's and that was only to be able to tell which one is what tuning lol. And I did change the necks to reverse headstocks. I love that look. I'm just wondering if I could get a monorail system bridge. Not a must, cause the stock ones are comfortable to play on and have amazing sustain. I just love monorail systems. Lol. But straight stock these are some phenomenal guitars. You get what you paid for and then some. I'm a huge fan of them.

    I have owned mine for 6 months at least, mine was the most torturous to play out the box(didn't come in a box) razor sharp bridge hex nuts that I don't recommend anyone try to adjust, they either thread, snap or just plain ol make things worse!! The vol/tone pots work, 5way switch is sketchy cheap, but there is 5 different sounds... The finish was in truth 'crappy' but... Due to lockdowns, limited funds and all the time required, I put a Schaller hardtail bridge, graphtech nut & locking tuners, I dressed the neck and fretboard myself, also cut back and re-coated the body, electro shielded the guts and I've just put some Seymour pickups in too, (worth every penny) why, because it's an awesome guitar, it had the bones, it needed some passion 'n' bling, (the bridge is perfect, and the satin black nickel finish match the tuners and knobs too! In total its cost less than $1100.00 and plays as if it was worth double that...

      Nope. That would be Ibanez GRG120QASP but honestly it will throw it out of tune constantly. Most who get a guitar in this price range will remove the bar, add some extra tension springs in the back, and maybe locking nuts as they can't hold the tune for any time. Honestly, it's easier to just get a hardtail like this one... if you want a whammy bar/floyd rose, better look for guitars around $700 range, maybe a grand

      Personally, I prefer the slim neck of Ibanezes. Jacksons are good, heavy on the top strings, but I got big fingers and their strings are way too close for me. Jacksons sounds more metal/heavy while this are a bit jazz/blues? I had a Jackson mid-range model and I liked it a bit, but I still prefer Ibanezes personally

    Is this neck good for small hands?

    • @noclu4u384
      @noclu4u384 3 года назад +1

      No. Its good for large hands with long fat fingers. It has jumbo frets so that means the spacing between each fret is wider than most guitars . If you a beginner to intermediate its good because of wide fret spacing . You dont have to be as accurate . Ibanez is known for building quality guitars for while now. If you can get your hands on a cheap Japanese model you'll get a great instrument . The Chinese have gotten a lot better though . But hey for 200 bucks its a good deal .

    • @liamrebelo9867
      @liamrebelo9867 3 года назад +6

      @@noclu4u384 Jumbo frets just mean that the frets are taller and wider not spaced differently, that's scale length. This guitar is great for small hands because it has a very thin neck making it easier to play for someone with small hands, frets have nothing to do with whether a guitar is good or bad for small hands.
