I've got a formerly green big muff that's now painted blue and gold so this type of sound is right in my wheelhouse. And there is no question that this would slide right in on the board in its place and I wouldn't miss a thing.
@@BudgetPedalChap yeah it is a striking color. I've been getting a little bit of gas for a guitar in that color. I've got a Telly and what's called a penny finish that looks pink from certain angles but it's not that deep shell paint that I've been craving lately.
@@jfiery that'd be a lovely guitar finish, it's definitely got a fender vibe to it. I think the new Harley Benton ST modern comes in a similar shell pink and I've definitely been tempted myself
Another great demo, this style of distortion isnt really my cup of tea, but it has its uses and it does a good job of taking us back to the 1990s too👍💜😊✌️
@@musoseven8218 I have never really been a big muff fan, but this one really resonated with me. I get it though, it's a very specific sound and does that 90s thing and not really much else. It's a good example of this kind of circuit though 👍
@@BudgetPedalChap Yeah they've done a good at capturing it, a really good job, especially for a budget pedal. It does some Black Sabbath stuff well (as do you👍) I wonder if it could be used on bass to similar effect 🤔
Good Friday evening, I've had this pedal from Joyo at home for about 2 months now, connected together with 10 other pedals of the same brand to a Bugera 5W tube combo. For the price, I'm very satisfied, the sound is good to play with and achieve the desired sound. I also have Fuzz pedals from EHX, but comparing it to Big Muff De Luxe is not entirely relevant from my point of view and certain experience. This effect is also very good and will do its job very well when supplemented with other pedals. Thanks for the video and have a nice weekend. Greetings Pavel CZ.👍👍👍
Great, to the point review as usual. I've been hoping you would do a review of this pedal as I've been curious about it. I love my old big box Big Muff but it is not a practical pedal for a board, and this Joyo pedal sounds like a great budget, compact alternative. I also noticed Joyo have a new fuzz in thier snazzy R-series called the "Hot Witch" that I hear is male ovine head inspired.
@@brianhenderson4916 absolutely, it is a great alternative and, dare I say it, in a more convenient case. I'll also let you know a little secret, you might want to check back in a couple of weeks. There may be a certain warm lady-wizard making an appearance 😉👍
Just back online & caught up with your latest two vids BPC, stonking sound from this pedal 👍 Think I'm going to buy the Sonicake Pro after seeing you demo it. Pedal board I'm learning can't be diverse enough for the sounds that you hear in your head
Bless you gent, very kind of you to say. Sonicake gave me a discount code a while back, I dunno if it works but worth a try for 10% off: budgetpedalchap
Thats pretty good for the price point. Nice colour scheme too. Great demo as ever. Spotted the obligitatory Pumpkins riff that is mandatory when demoing a Muff 😂
@@JasonWharton82 😂😂😂 well, I'll be honest, it surprised me too. I don't think I've learnt it, but the pedal inspired it. Pretty meaty sounding for a budget pedal huh?
It'll last about two years, then break... ironically theyve even copied that aspect of Electro Harmonix pedals, although they'll last a couple more years, had two joyos that failed, and three Electro Harmonix that failed, I will never buy either again. At least with Joyos there so cheap it doesn't matter.
@@mikethebloodthirsty I've heard that the switches can be a weak point on EHX pedals, but I've never had either fail on me. Sorry to hear that happened to you though gent and I can completely understand your decision 👍

I run mine into a driven amp all the time and was very much looking forward to amp time and you didn't disappoint. And as a muff fiend I vote yes.
@@jfiery it took to the driven amp well, huh?

Loving the Pumpkin tones 🤘🏻
