Hey Brian and crew, great video. What do you think would be great H & R lowerspring set-up would be on a mk6 golf TDI would be... Touring or Cup kit? I'm currently on 18" Michelin run flats. Thanks
Coming together nicely! I’ve a sports diff equipped S4 with all sorts done to it. Sports diff cars have a much smaller RARB than even a boggo fwd diesel does so they feel understeery off throttle, the understeer disappears completely with a bit more throttle input. I’ve toyed with the idea of upgrading the rear bar with the slightly bigger bar off an A4 but don’t want to make it too tail happy then on throttle as I think Audi must have speced it this way for a reason. Have you considered playing with the rear bar size?
Not actually measured it but will take a look. The rear toe makes more difference than the ARB but a stiffer setup would be more snappy. I feel like the diff and TC pull the cars in and out of the bends pretty well
Ryan P rough figures are sports diff have 16mm bar, A4/5 have 19mm bar and non sport diff S4/5 have 22mm bar. My last suspension mods I need to do is poly Bush the rear end and the toe links. Have you seen the cr-15 brace that sells in America? I had the first 1 in the UK and sent him measures for rhd modifications he needed to make to sell them over here. It’s something you men could knock up in no time out of a bit of aluminium box section and sells with what must be a massive profit margin! Really tightens the front end feel up as well!
quick question if you guys don't mind? I'm having issues with a squirmy rearend on hard braking at the track with my B8.5 S5 with brembo GTS 380mm front brakes and 350 mm rears. On HR adjustable front coil overs car has fully adjustable 034 suspension with track set up for alignment and camber settings. I feel like the front is diving too much and taking weight off the rears in heavy braking even though i'm on a lowered stance. I've tried different compounds for pads to see if more agessive will help with rear. I'm thinking of going to adjustable bilstiens to help remedy. Being you guys are tracking a similar car what are your thoughts? Am I looking in the correct direction to help make the car more stable under hard braking at the end of straights?
LucasVWGolfR well my dad as one at the minute an it can motivate in standard form so few tweaks would turn it in to a monster plus they are by far the best sounding diesel I’ve ever heard
Jodie marshall i know what you mean. Ive got an SQ5 with the biTDI V6 and a stage 1 tune and it moves for a big girl. Would love some more little mods for it but there isnt much around. @Darkside Developments silicone intake pipe to suit the V6 biTDI please.
You can use the A6/A7/A8 356mm discs and twin piston calipers. Bolt on modification. Much better than the S5 setup which uses an A5 3.0 tdi caliper just a larger carrier for the slightly bigger disc. For a snazzier application, could also use the B9 S4/S5 calipers with a 10mm spacer on the upright. Again using the A6/A7/A8 356mm disc Great video as always, really enjoy the content!
Are these alot stiffer than stock on normal crappy UK roads? Also how do they fare compared to the BC Racing Coilovers (BR Series) you do. Currently have standard S-Line suspension but done want anything too stiff as the UK roads are horrendous near me.
@@DarksideDevelopments Seems like you might need to remove the "checkmark" from multiple places where the magnetic suspension option is present, I'm sure its not only in the can gateway module... You should be able to completely disable it in theory, I know for sure you can configure "DRIVE SELECT" without actually having the proper shocks.
Do you guys ship to the USA? Might be refreshing my suspension on my B8.5 A4 and would 100% do the toe arms while I'm in there. Also how many miles on the A5 to have the front bushings perished like that? I'm at 90,000 and think mine may be starting to get tired.
This another question I have, as my A4 has this auto dumping functionality I don’t really want to get rid of it, is it ok to just change springs will it still work ok? Which are the best springs for that, ok I will ask all this in my email to DSD.
@@DarksideDevelopments I will send the info like the VIN and an email which will be about all things I want to order from you guys. But this is gonna be some time in this summer. Anyway will be in contact, first I need to write a couple emails discussing what the best choices are for what I want to achieve with my A4. Still not even with me. I put a down payment on it until I sell my Golf. But I already got buyers. So how did this A6 behave, keeping the active dumpers and all? Is it good enough road holding?
Do you recode the abs module with bigger brakes ? I have multiple options of coding on my a4 b6 and would it be good to recode for better brakes when i upgrade them ?
from an engineering point of view that has to be one of the ugliest rear suspension setups I have seen in a long time! Guess I shouldn't be surprised it is an Audi!
I bought an A5 because of your videos
i bought last month 2014 3.0 tdi coupe,in teakbrown with black grills and Emblem...its fucking sexy
Same
I was so tired i commented on my own comment lol. Updates please! 🤓
Got them on my B5 RS4 brilliant coilovers
More videos for us in isolation or quarantined please ! 😂
Added up everything from tuning to brakes, 10k fitted about.
Interesting watch!
15:46 😂😂😂 pretty sure he knew what you called him
What does that mean? Ruben walker? or something like that?
Internal joke, George hits Reuben with a foam bat that is formally known as the Reuben whacker!
good job keep going
Can’t beat Bilsteins value for what you get 👌🏻

Hey, we're not familiar with the different H&R kits but Touring sounds more road orientated and the Cup a little firmer for track.

Thought the calipers on the 3.0 and s5 were the same? Just the carrier was different
1:15 what are those sensors for on engine mounts lol?
They are electronic
@@DarksideDevelopments Too much technology haha!
Audi historically have always setup big under steer , the (half dozen) 100’s I had back in the 80’s were super stable , but xxxxxxx understeer 👹
Upgrading the rear calipers, you put the original into service mode, what do you do after fitting the S5 ones?
You can just do the same thing again when they are connected or manually do it.
@@DarksideDevelopments thanks guys! Very helpful

Check the Bump steer at the rear and the rake angle, might want to be a bit lower at the back.
Be nice on the next project to see an a6 bitdi see what you could do with 2 turbos 😁😁
Jodie marshall same - id love so see what they can do with the 3.0 V6 biTDI.

LucasVWGolfR well by all accounts an intercooler is a good mod to do to squeeze some more power out and also adds to the noise 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Are the poly bushes worth buying?
And what are your thoughts on retro fitting an adjustable rear anti roll bar on a FWD car?
FWD with bigger RARB is awesome. Poly bushes are very good.

Noticed you set the fronts to 4 & backs to 3 is that what your would recommend to give a comfortable fast road set up with the B16's?
Try it, all subjective!

I don't think stock Audi ride that well, these are certainly better than old OE!
@@DarksideDevelopments how many hours would you need to change all 4 sides?
Depends what else is stuck or broken but about 5-6hrs
Vcds should sort it out with unclicking the mag suspension.
How much you want for the old suspension:) my SE suspension had enough
Did you guys tried to remove/deselect the dampers module from the CAN Gateway installation list? Nice video!

Yes it has back flags so you swap front to back to do all 4

@@DarksideDevelopments Thanks hope you fix your transmission problems soon.
My A5 tramlines badly, will the powerflex bushes/rear toe arms help with this or is it a sign of bad allignment?
could be bushes but alignment makes a huge difference!
Should've used the Audi Q5 4-pot brakes instead.
I have 2.0tdi with Malone stage 2 tune and straight piped. What do I need for popcorn tune? I want to make it sounds crazy.
Nothing, just ask Malone for a popcorn tune :)
Roughly how much for the same upgrades if it was bought in to replicate?
Drop us an email
Aren’t the a5 and s5 front brakes the same size ?
Nope, A5 are bigger.
I just bought this suspension for my S4, but my car came with ADS. Do I have to get the KW Electronic Damping cancellation kit to cancel the errors?
