Not sure if its the nostalgia but ever since this came out when I was a teen, I can always jam the whole album without skipping a song. I remember thinking of it as almost symphonic without any actual symphonic instruments. Its such a sonic spectacle of an album and it sets an atmosphere thanks to the riffs and the fact that they had 3 guitarists at the time. They have not been able to match this sound until Children of the Great Extinction which I am also jamming non stop. It's not exactly at the same level as this album but still a great album.

Jon wrote most of it when we were only 16. Then we met Duck and the rest was water most fun journey I ever had. I'm so happy you liked what we were feeling. And it is about heavy spiritual battle

@@seancunningham6785 that insane that you were only 16. This album is a huge source of inspiration to me, and has probably saved my life multiple times. The artwork perfectly fits with the sound. I discovered this album at like 9 years old at a christian online book store 😂

This is one of my favorite bands, and they just released a single last Friday. The album, releasing this August, is the band’s first in a decade. If you liked this, check out their new song The Lost Colony. It’s much shorter, but I’m loving it.
If you want another band suggestion, I’d recommend Hope For The Dying. If you like these longer ones, they have one that’s even longer than Elegy by about a minute and a half called Open Up The Sky. Another song by them I frequently like to recommend is Trenches. Ironically neither of these are even on my favorite album by them lol but their whole discography is so good.

I don’t know if you’ll see this but there is a lesser known band that used to play shows with them called Dead Man in Reno that no one has done a reaction on yet.
