I am not sure I think the position it's played in ever moves from first position. It sounds like a lot of open notes, and I definitely don't think the 3-5-3-5 part sounds right on the low D and G strings. To me the tone on the recording sounds like he went 3 on the D to 0-3-0 on G to open C
