Yeaah it is!! But I think that these kind of things are good ways to practice with your art skills! This way you can focus more on the colours than the design itself!
Just a small tip: The green colors are probably there as a skin undertone. Like how some have an olive undertone, others have a rosey undertone, etc. That’s just my thinking about the greens and green-ish yellows! (Other wise, I’ll just be as confused as well.) That’s just my thought on them! I love your content, and it *ALWAYS* puts a smile on my face. Keep up the amazing work! ❤️
Thank you, I wish she maybe would have put some thought into how undertones work seeing as this is a video about coloring skin tones. But hey, simple mistake.
i’m very fair and i wish they created a pale skin tone that wasn’t too yellow. i would like to have a marker shade similar to my skin tone! but im happy that they included some yellow toned markers because i was a little disappointed in the selection of yellows in the 72 brush market set. i bought this set because i love ohuhu markers and the brush nibs :) great video, you did such a good job showcasing the colors
I use copics for those skintones! Copics and spectrum noir are the only markers I've tried that makes decent light skintones (Haven't tried touch twin but they might have some too)
I feel like the ohuhu 48 brush set has some decent medium and dark skin tones, I really wanted a light skin tone so I bought a single copic E00 and it is the perfect shade! Just another option if you don't want to buy the whole ohuhu set. 😀
I think that may be the way to go! Otherwise, anything close to a self-portrait would be in some bizarro world where I’m not light-sensitive and actually go out in the sun. 🤣
@@elijahelkwood5459 its weird I have a billion nice browns and almost like a tan leather colors but I draw a ton of anime so trying to find a pale tone without it looking like a banana has been impossible
Too many medium skin tones. I hope they'll expand the color selection eventually. Welp, I was never a fan of markers when it comes to skin tones cause they tend to be streaky anyways (especially darker shades). Nice video!
ohuhu sort of have a reputation of intense colors, nothing pastel and super light, very vibrant. it's hard to create lighter skin tones with intense colors because you have to layer. as for darker markers... you can layer, but it can ruin your paper, so i agree with you on that. i totally understand where you're coming from and agree that they should expand their skint tone range, but it is only a 24 marker set??
Okay but they all look really good. Even though the last one that was a little pink ish looked really good at the end. Just... besides the flat out yellow one
It really shocked and disappointed me how picky and rude people are being in the comments. "That's not what that's called" "didn't like them until they were finished" "the darker girls should have lighter palms poc deserve to be represented the way they look." Ummm the light girls have darker palms too. Also it's just color swatching. Geez just come enjoy art interpreted the way the artist likes it or go away or at least keep your rude comments to yourself. Beautiful video and art.
bravebucks ok, maybe she isn’t the best but her coloring isn’t flat, and this is coming from a person that doesn’t know her and just saw this video because it was in my recommended. I think she didn’t know it was supposed to be an undertone, because the color is actually reeeeeaally yellow/greenish yellow. Everyone makes mistakes and she actually did a good job on the other ones.
I wish you did more content like this. I love learning about colors that blend well together. Skin tones are always very helpful as well. Love your positive attitude and content! ❤️
i find it interesting how its the total opposite between makeup and art when it comes to color range. its so much easier to find beautiful dark skin tones in art than it is in makeup, and its much easier to find nice paler colors in makeup.
Love this! I only recently started drawing again by sketching daily as a challenge after 4-6 years of not drawing at all, and I've beeb very interested in different skintones so this was such a nice video! Also LOVED the brown skinned girl with orangey hair, as it looked similar to a character I'm developing. Great video, also love your art style and your voice 😊
I just want to point out for people who might not know, yellows would be better to add a yellow tint to skin if soneone has a yellowef skin tone. And the pinks and yellows are not for shading and highlight but to add tint to each skin tone. Like blush/pink-ish tones to the skin same with the yellow.
It’s so cool how many different skin colors people can have (: I love seeing art supplies made to represent the incredible diversity of our species 💖💖💖
I couldn't agree more! The diversity of skin tones is truly amazing, and it's fantastic that art supplies now reflect that richness. It adds a whole new level of creativity and inclusivity to the artistic process.
I'm so excited. I just got my 24 skin tones and 48 regular color alcohol markers from Ohuhu yesterday. I'm dying to try them out soon. Still practicing with cheaper markers to build up my skills. So my new goal (and motivation) is finishing up with the cheaper markers and work up to the Ohuhu markers! Again. I can't wait to try them. I've read many reviews and many RUclips videos and nothing but great reviews about these amazing markers!
Fantastic video on exploring skin tones with the Ohuhu markers! 🎨🌟 I’m amazed by the range of skintones you were able to create. Your tips and demonstrations are super helpful for understanding how to mix and match colors effectively. Thanks for such an informative and inspiring tutorial! 👍😊

As someone with an olive undertone…This. I was yelling for her to layer that dang green in my head. Wish she did, but it’s cool.
I wasn't feeling some of the girls when they were just skin tone but after you completed the hair and shirt they really came together.

First one is a 'anime' Simpsons character with that skin tone. Like the video so far, enjoy watching you work
Asian people can have a yellow undertone in their skin...I not even Asian and those yellows would be pretty good for me to use on a self portrait
bravebucks that’s true. But she made that one straight up yellow, not even so much and undertone
Having an undertone and being legit yellow are two different things. I’m concerned if anyone is that shade; it could be jaundice.
