Quick tip for anyone who doesn't know: you actually put the colorless blender down before the colors! It's kind of like how you sometimes put water down before watercolor paints to help blend them together. You use the blender where you wanna blend two colors, then layer on top of that. @@simra22 the do, but it’s not for all the colors. Only a couple that were highly requested. You could also email them or request a color for the refill and they will try to make a refill for that color. If you email them they will (not sure if they still do) send you a free marker or the color you need. So if there isn’t the color you need/want, just request it and they will definitely try to get it. I love their customer service and how they listen to their customers!

The lack of contrast was something I noticed too. Glad you mentioned that because I wasn't sure what to make of it, and wondered if I were being too nitpicky over it. 😅 I don't own alot of copics so hearing that they have colors that go even lighter sounds impressive.
I’d say, just do it. Put the marker where you want it and force yourself to colour the spot in. I’m not sure what medium you use, but apply your skills in that to markers. I’ve used markers before (though I primarily paint) and it can be scary, especially with dark colours, as there’s no going back, but if you’re really afraid of messing up a drawing, get the pastel set, because light colours tend to be less scary.

Markers scare me, but I've been working with them for a while now, forcing myself through it every time. My art has really improved, having confidence, even forced confidence, is such a help! And that doesn't just relate to my marker art, practice in one medium get better in several.

Rather than the names being 'stolen,' it seems more likely that both Ohuhu and Copic were trying to match a third colour system (like the old web safe colours or Pantone).

The moment I saw these markers were released my mind immediately went to the idea of Rin doing a video on them, their marker reviews were always my favorite.
An interesting thing I noticed: this pack and the skin tone pack bother have a pale cherry pink - but they are different colors (this one is more peachy, the other is an actual pink). It’s closest to Barely Beige/R19 in color, with just the hint of pink to it.
I love these! I got my daughter, 7yrs old, the basic ohuhu brush markers and she loves them but they are so so pigmented layering is kinda moot. These can layer! BTW my daughter loves your videos and wants to be an artist like you. ❤️

Just a comment about the colorless blender marker: with the pastel markers the colorless blender will be perfect to use for it's main purpose, which is blending colors out to the white (or colorless) portion of your paper! A lot of people don't know that's the reason those markers are named "colorless blenders".

i love pastel markers sm! i especially love drawing faces and color them with the pastel markerks, just layering all the pinks blues greens and purples togheter and leaving a little bit of white/soft spaces for highlights, its so much fun

Just a comment about the colorless blender marker: with the pastel markers the colorless blender will be perfect to use for it's main purpose, which is blending colors out to the white (or colorless) portion of your paper! A lot of people don't know that's the reason those markers are named "colorless blenders".

I watched your video on the big pack of Ohuhu and I was just browsing Amazon and BOOM there they were 💫 Ohuhu PASTEL MARKERS with BRUSH tip!!! 💫 I got mine tonight and WOW they are fab! I’m so glad that I watched your other video first because I have been swatching them on every kind of paper I have! Promarker paper makes the pens look stunning! Really good values. ✍🏼🎨💜

The pastel colors are very pretty but I agree not enough contrast, you need a set of darker tones to go with them.
If only they'd restock them here in Germany ^^' I'm like daily refreshing their shop's HP, so I get my hands on them, too, already 😂
it usually takes a couple weeks for them to restock in my experience. but i hope its soon for you! 💜

i love pastel markers sm! i especially love drawing faces and color them with the pastel markerks, just layering all the pinks blues greens and purples togheter and leaving a little bit of white/soft spaces for highlights, its so much fun
