I have a question can you make a TV sync RGB lights using Raspberry Pi or Arduino or any development controller board ?
It's just a question?
I wonder how this would look if you used a mirror as a backing piece and like reflective cubes 🤔
As a bonus, you can add a strip on the back (square, just following the outline of the board) when you hang it on the wall. I did this with a pegboard and it yields some great effect. I am not familiar with the Domestic Automation WLED Controller but using a different GPIO in WLED would allow you to create some awesome effect. And ending my comment with: damn this looks good! Definitely got inspired!
Was thinking this exactly too
I wasn't sure what to expect from the final product, but that first shot with the lights of was amazing!
You might try painting the board. For example, use white gesso as a base coat, then use UV reactive acrylic paint, then blacklight LED strips! :) I would at least paint the board white. And as someone else suggested, a plexiglass top would help to keep dust out and make it look even better! :)
I was going to say the same thing about the plexiglass but I would sand it down to make it look frosted but only on the inside and edges.
This turned out beautiful Chris. I love how the trim moulding encapsulates the light. And so true about the value in enjoying the journey. Thank you!
Chris, this one is absolutely amazing! I also have a feeling that there will be a 2.0 version in the future…
Thanks for sharing!
Really cool. A simple example that could be used to do a lot of things with the board. Different paints, designs, etc.
Could be a cool clock
Love your Videos
This is stunning! Amazing idea!
awesome project, i made my first 21x14 panel the other day for a laugh it had already got me wanting to go a lot bigger, thanks for the inspiration
Fantastic Chris , this shows how the lights can be used for much more than just around rooms etc , i am planning on making one of these pretty soon . I hope other ideas come to mind from your subscribers as well as yourself , thank you for this post perfectly explained as usual .
very cool - loving the effects this gives
Amazing beautiful!
The project looks beautiful. I like the effects.
I've made one , it's so much better in person , thanks Chris .
Awesome! So fun to hear!
Hey Chris, did you consider a translucent sheet of plexi over that to soften the hot spots?
if you do, put up a vid with that I bet that would look fantastic. I really like this spiral, may try that out for my daughter.
thanks for the Vid!
Absolute amazing work! Thanks Chris for the inspiration. I will definitely try to make one too ❤
That’s excellent. Thanks!
That’s a really cool idea
Идея хорошая но я бы попробовал наклеить ещё одну ленту на внутреннюю часть кубиков и настроить её в противофазе основной ленте .Думаю получились бы интересные эффекты .
Nice one, would love to know how it looks with a COB strip instead... Might even try it myself. Thanks for another great vid
Another cheeky idea Chris, when you come to the end add wires and loop over the end piece and follow on the inside back to the centre. Or make a @ symbol one too
Great project Chris; happy New Year Bud!!
Clever spiral tip! Thanks!
This is very cool! Keep up the good work!
Thank you Chris.
Wow that looks good.
Chris, this is really a cool idea. made me think about adding a mirror backing to it with a glass top. wonder if it would give it a infinity look to it. thoughts?
Beautiful! You are always inspiring me to up my WLED game! I have a laser cutter so I'm thinking of cutting the spiral out a couple of times to get that thickness and attaching it to a prefinished board from Walmart or wherever. It'll be on a smaller scale but two or three would be nice. Thanks for sharing.
Looks really cool! Will definitely try this as i seem to have a extra wled strip which might be perfect for this. Will try to pour epoxy on top and see how it turns out
Excellent video Chris, reminded me of you at the start of the channel,
Brilliant project and stunning to look at,
If I haven't said it yet I wish you and your family a Happy New Year,
Take care fella 🙏
When I i clicked the link you had my curiosity, by the demo at the end, you had my attention
So cool
OMG Chris... this is Bad Ass!!😮 I wanna do a whole wall like this!! 😊
That would look amazing with a diffuser sheet on top...
Would a COB style led strip not be more aesthetic?
some glass or perspex on top would look nice also
I have a 12 x 19 x 1/4 inch sheet of opaque acrylic I have been wanting to use to create a shelf with illumination from below. Might be a cool combination here!
Hey Chris! I just hit like before even watching any of your videos now :D thanks so much for sharing!
Very cool for demo purposes, but could you not have used a LED lightstrip with a flexible diffuser or are LED strips not available with a diffuser included for a better effect ?
Hey quick question. Do these strips run nice and cool due to 5v?
Nice build. Any reason you didn't just a length of silicon flex led? Would have made the build a bit easier and less time consuming.
Why didn't you try the fcob rgb? Woulda been nice.
Hi Chris , i have now made 2 of these and painted the boards prior to to starting and placed perspex over them . On a different subject can i run 3 w2812b strips from a single esp32 module , not connected together but 3 different strips . I know the power wouldn't be an issue its more the data connections , any help on this would be appreciated cheers .
That's so cool you did this project yourself!! You certainly can run multiple strips. Check out this video I did. ruclips.net/video/Zzi5UIGnY2A/видео.htmlsi=8yn_WpMqXUC4C7kM
I so want to try a WLED project, but id rather not use WiFi. Is there a way of using Ethernet or Poe?
Can I connect a 144led/m strip to a 60led/m strip?
it will look more fine or high quality, but animations are to fast.
I think you could leave this LED (ruclips.net/video/M-qTj0wSSaU/видео.html) just unwrap the plastic and solder the wires..
nice but reading uzumaki lll stay away from this xD. joking but nice exectution!
Thanks for the inspiration Chris! ruclips.net/user/shortsAWY30ItLTfM
