I just realized I momentarily forgot about fireworks (I'm the one) that is another one that is very dangerous, so maybe don't do it at the same time as inception, unless you're in a good head space that day.

Ateez is my ult group and it always amuses me when people first discover them. Because they are from a small company they have flown under the radar a bit and a lot of people haven't checked them out. But when they do, they are always shocked at how good they are and their level of talent which really makes my heart happy.
Ateez is one of the most gifted, diverse artists in kpop today with a very distinct signature sound. No matter what genre of music they tackle, and they have done a huge variety of music, you will always recognize it's them because they don't sound like anyone else. I think it has something to do with how their producers are masters at using beat drops, change ups, vocal harmonies and instrumentals in their music. It just makes the songs stand out in a great way.
They are known for being outstanding dancers and live performers and they really, really love being on stage. I think it's where they feel the most at home so as fans, we've had the privilege of getting a lot of great live stages from these guys.
If you are interested in checking out more of their title tracks, I would highly recommend these: Say My Name, Hala Hala ,Answer, Wonderland, Inception, Thanxx, Fireworks, Eternal Sunshine, The Real, Guerrilla.
As good as their title tracks are, their b-sides are even better. Some of my favorites are: Cyberpunk, Mist, Aurora, Utopia, To the Beat, Dazzling Light, Thank U, Dune, This World, Django and The Ring.
I also want to note that as a group, Ateez are super funny and fun when it comes to variety shows and are well known in the industry for being very kind-hearted and sweet. They treat their fans so incredibly well which I am really thankful for.
I could go on and on about how awesome they are but I don't want to overwhelm you. But I do hope you will do more reactions to them in the future. I would so love that!

I saw someone already introduced the members but I’ll add on a little. The one who does the high notes is Jongho, the main vocalist and the maknae. The one that caught your eye is Wooyoung and yes he’s a big Jimin fanboy. Ateez is very prominent in many areas but especially their performances so yes I highly recommend you check out their dance practices (you can check out bouncy and Halazia first since you already watch the mv). If you would like to learn more about the members, you can also check out a guide. There’s one extremely long guide ‘The ultimate guide to Ateez 2023’. It is very long but also very updated and detailed.
The one with the high voice (Jongho) is the baby and, in my opinion, has one of the best voices in k-pop right now. Look up the video of him singing while breaking apples - you won't be sorry.
Ateez is a 8 member boy group with the label (KQ entertainment). They debut on October 24, 2018 with their mini album “ Treasure Ep 1: All to Zero” with their title songs ‘ Pirate King and Treasure’. The members are Seonghwa, Hoongjoong, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung,and Jongho.

The high notes guy is the main vocalist (and the best vocalist of the generation) Jongho. something i noticed with first time reactions (including mine!) is how ateez seriously makes everyone feel HELLA overwhelmed😭 like when i binge-watched their mvs i just KNEW I had to stan.
That overwhelmed feeling is common on your first trip down the ATEEZ rabbit hole. It's like a buzzy sensory overload. I cackled like a witch the whole time watching this. The members always say how hard they work to put on a good show for their fans, that includes looks, vocals, dance everything. Wooyoung is my bias, and he's a walking ball of energy and love. Hopefully you get a chance to see come of their RUclips content, their personalities really shine. Because despite them being immensely talented, their personalities are my favorite part about them.

I saw them in concert in Phoenix last November. Super hype performance, since you pointed out Jongho's vocals i wanted to share, that man does not need a microphone to project his voice in an arena! I had to actually semi shield my ears occasionally when he'd hit those high notes. Not in a bad way, it was awesome, but his voice is so incredibly powerful that it was *almost* too much! Ofc in the best way possible. My sons bias is also wooyoung, he pointed , probably not right at my kid, but it was close enough that my kid still tells everyone about it. (It was his 1st concert, and hes in love with wooyoung 😊 it was cute) glad you like them. They have some predebut dance performance videos you should check out. 💜

the high note guy is jongho (the youngest) and the bias guy is wooyoung (pronounced ooyong), he's the second youngest...also if you like woo you should really check out some raw clips of his, his personality and aura are so cute, fun and contagious (babygirlism at its peak, I love him for that although I have no bias in ateez)
and yes, ateez are currently one of the best dancers in kpop 4th gen (their performance aspect is surely the best tho, I mean look at the demon line)

The Jimin to Wooyoung pipeline is so real tho, I see it all the time 😂 I got into ATEEZ through their 2019 MAMA performance, highly recommend if you can find it. Wonderland is my favorite song of theirs. They also do a lot of Halloween performances of their main tracks ❤
The one doing the crazy high notes is the Maknae and main vocalist of Ateez called Choi Jongho. The red haired guy rapping in Deja Vu is Kim Hongjoong the main rapper and leader (we call him captain though). The one with the perfect teeth and the guy rapping at the end of Deja Vu is Song Mingi, another rapper along with Hongjoong.
I would definitely recommend reacting to more of them because their talent is indescribable and you will not regret it. Atiny's (Ateez fans) say not without a reason that Ateez has 8 visuals, 8 dancers and 8 vocalists because they all are just too good at all these things. Even the rappers can sing beautifully. They are crazy performers with insane stage presence, a stage is never boring when they're on it and they just keep getting better and better. Their personalities are absolutely beautiful as well.

I apologize now -- I don't mean to make long posts, then I get excited and intentions go out the window... so, yeah.
Since you asked about how to say Mingi's name, there's a great "introduction" they do on the Showterview with SUNMI (Captain Hongjoong also gives a run-down of the timeline and lore, too).
I always love seeing first reactions to our boys. ATEEZ are hands-down my ult group. I'm a newbie still to K-pop in general, having just started K-dramas in March 2022 and listening to a few groups and artists because of OST songs I really liked and briefly checking out groups idol actors are in, etc... but my first real search to specifically "dive into K-pop" wasn't until November, and resulted in me finding ATEEZ (literally the first video I watched was "Answer"). I got pulled in immediately, and I still haven't stopped falling through their interdimensional rabbit hole but I love it.
Others have already given a lot of info about the guys, so I'll just add my thoughts that you literally cannot pick a bad song to listen to -- they're all good, the b-sides are amazing, they don't really fit in one "sound" or genre because they flow so smoothly between sounds/genres in songs ("Guerrilla" is a great example of them doing that really well). Many of us will say you'll get the most out of your reaction journey by jumping straight back to the very beginning, and I agree... I wish I'd experienced them that way, to be honest... but I'll reiterate that there are no bad songs, just that they're not all going to sound the same so walk in with expectations of a great song but no expectation of how it'll actually sound. Or something. Saying they remind you of Stray Kids is actually great, as Stray Kids very much are their own thing as well for me... so without comparing at all, I agree entirely. The two groups are great friends, and there's even a running joke (sort of) that their fandoms are "married". There are definitely a lot of StayTiny out there. We got to see some great interactions between them on Kingdom: Legendary War.
If you want to go back to the beginning, definitely start with the KQ Fellaz (pre-debut name; not KQ Fellaz 2, that's Xikers) performance videos; there are 3 group ones (all 8 of our guys), and 1 with just Yunho and backup dancers. All 4 are wonderful ways to see how technical and expressive they are in dance (even before debut, they've only grown since then) without having to focus on any flashiness of a video or lyrics (because it's not their own music) or anything. Then, move on to the "Pirate King" and "Treasure" MV -- OR really experience them in full by just reacting to lyric videos and MVs in order of placement on the albums. (Not telling you how to do it, just saying that's how to get the most from it if you're wanting to really dive deep.)
I totally understand your eyes just going to someone, without trying. I didn't even know I had a bias for a while, until I realized that every MV, every dance practice, every live stage, my eyes gravitate toward Yeosang like there's no tomorrow. I love all 8 of them, and the other 7 can all wreck me, but something about him just draws my gaze first. I also love when they use Yeosang and Jongho in harmony because it's such a treat for the ears with his lower tones and Jongho's high ones. (Yeosang is the one you said doesn't look like he has a low voice, in "Halazia".)
I didn't read enough comments to know how many times it's been said, but their lore is insanely good and expansive. It's confusing as all get-out at the start (or, it was for me) but how the 'live' the lore through their lyrics, MVs, live stages, etc. really is part of the major draw for me. I've always been a bit of a nerd and they definitely speak to that side of me. Every album comes with a "Diary" that gives more insight into what's actually going on for that album's timeline... and loreTINY (which I'm not) compile things and give theories and whatnot. I know there are some good ones that post for others to learn, but I honestly can't remember off the top of my head (and I'm a horrible fan who doesn't have those bookmarked).
The lore basics to understand are:
-- ATEEZ is a group of teenagers from our world (world/dimension/universe "A") who came together as pirates of a sort in search of their treasure
-- HALATEEZ is a group of rebels (in world/dimension/universe "Z") in a dystopian society with a totalitarian government that outlawed human emotion and expression of it (art, dance, music)
---- this group leads the 'black pirates', but fans called them HALATEEZ because they first showed up in "HALA HALA" and the name stuck
-- both groups are the same 8 guys, obviously... just different versions of themselves in the lore (think "The One" with Jet Li)
-- because of their actions against the "Z" government, they are outlaws and hunted by Android Guardians (you see one in "Bouncy", the thing in white with spiky mask that gets blown up)
-- when trailers are released, they definitely help explain what's going on; always watch MVs to the end, too, because yes there are sometimes the little extras
-- that should be enough to help you wrap your brain around it all
"Halazia" takes place in world "Z", where citizens are being brainwashed by the government. Prestige Academy is where kids sit in white rooms with in-ear devices that keep them focused on a big screen with a digitized head talks to them, spitting propaganda so they'll trust the government and shut out emotion. In the mini-album 'The World EP 1 : Movement', we see our guys infiltrating to break the connection of the in-ears and take over the airwaves to blast their own message ("Guerrilla" MV, plus teasers/trailers)... "Halazia" is told by "the Witness" in a spin-off album, basically the feelings they encountered and effect the boys' actions had on them. (My interpretation, not official info there.) So this actually takes place prior to "Bouncy", but isn't part of the official time-line in terms of the story as told by our guys -- instead, it's an extra perspective.
Part of what's interesting about that to me is that there are call-backs to the "Guerrilla" MV and that mini-album in "Halazia" and its MV (like one of San's dance moves, where he reaches toward the camera, Mingi's rap conversation to himself between "Halazia" and "Cyberpunk", etc.) I realize you haven't seen those other MVs or heard the songs, but it's worth keeping in mind that they do this kind of thing all the time -- you will feel the connections if you continue to explore them.
For "Bouncy", our guys have been undercover and now have gotten the signal to move out and start their mission.
At the end of "Bouncy", Mingi (the teeth guy) was annoyed because all of the posters were of him.
In "Deja Vu", the one you asked why he was rapping that way is "Captain" Hongjoong (he's the leader, but we call him Captain since they're pirates).
After that, the other rapper was the teeth guy.
There's a really nice Halloween version of this one where they're dressed as vampires.
Their DPs are insane. They go as hard for DPs as they do for MVs and live stages. It's crazy.
Jongho's voice is lovely, whether it's soaring or not. If you like the high stuff, though, check out "Symphony No 9 : From the Wonderland" on Kingdom: Legendary War, and also "Black Cat Nero".

I just discovered ATEEZ almost two months ago. Halazia was my first video/song and I was so blown away. After I heard Guerrilla , that was it for me. ATIINY! (Actually I became a Stay about two weeks before this, so I’m definitely a STAYTINY😂). Watching “inception” and then “Answer”, I was an emotional wreck, in the greatest way.
You expressed yourself much the way I felt hearing all their songs for the first time. I was stunned, overwhelmed and could not believe what I was hearing.! The melodic beauty of their songs is just otherworldly to me and throw in the rap and the hard edge and I’m done 😅

for me too the only group that hit hard (harder tbh) than bts is ateez. they became a safe space for me so quickly. the thing that made them stand out is their stage presence, their expressions are AMAZING.

Because you like StrayKids and Ateez, you should go back and watch Kingdom: Legendary war. Where 6 boy groups (including SKZ and Ateez) all competed through amazing performances. The scoring is bull but the performances and interactions are so worth it. I rewatch it a lot. Plus it lets you learn about a handful of great groups.

And yes, that you guessed it I am in Ateez fan I have been watching them when they started putting the group gather before they even debuted I have not been disappointed since they are impeccable. This is one of my favorite reactions I've watched in a long time. So fun to see someone just jump in and discover the gem that is ATEEZ in this way.

What attracted me 1st to Ateez is their characters....they are humble and kind...My first Ateez song I fell in love with is Queen 'Answer'...when I 1st heard it at Kingdom.

ATEEZ is so special as they come from a super small company and have a similar come up to BTS which is why there are a lot of Army and Atiny…loved it!! 🖤🧡
I saw Ateez and clicked! I started with BTS and then saw the Ateez MV Fireworks and was wrecked!! They are 8 all rounders and Jongho has undoubtedly the best vocals in the industry. New subscriber here hoping for an in-depth fall down the ATEEZ rabbit hole!

Simplest tip for recognizing some of the members: high pitch rapper = hongjoong, low pitch rapper = mingi, high notes = jongho

ATEEZ is a very unique group, who as you noticed, has a very unique sound/style like Skz have. Theyre not like you average kpop group 😉 Same goes for their dance/choreography. ATEEZ are master performers, probably the best in the industry right now. The way they use both facial expressions and their entire bodies, when performing is so mesmerizing. They're also a group that use a lot of body rolls and hipaction in their choreo - masters of sexy choreo 😉 If you dare to see an example of this, go watch a live performance of their song 'Cyberpunk'. And be prepared to get wrecked, especially by San...
Another thing to note about ATEEZ, is their HUGE duality! When you've only seen MV's and live performances of them, chances are you'll find them a little intimidating and serious, however, off the stage, they're all some of the biggest adorkable crackheads 😅☺️ especially your man Wooyoung. His the biggest social butterfly in the kpop industry, who loves to annoy and cuddle people, especially his fellow members 😂 When you get to "know" each of the members, you'll fall in love even more, they're hilarious and the sweetest 😊

Those amazing vocals are Jongho and San. Mainly Jongho though (he’s the main vocal). I see everyone caught your eye at some point haha. That tends to happen with Ateez. The more you watch them the harder it is to have just one bias. Hongjoong is the leader but Atiny (our fandom name) call him captain. There’s two rappers (Hongjoong and Mingi) and 6 vocalists (Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Wooyoung, and Jongho). Though sometimes Seonghwa raps. He rapped in Bouncy. The main dancers are Wooyoung and Yunho. They debuted on October 24, 2018 with Pirate King and Treasure. Those clips at the end are spoilers/Easter eggs that they give us to piece together their HUGE storyline. The music that plays in the clips are the spoiler parts to a song for they’er next or a future comeback. Thank you for checking them out! They’re amazing and I hope you become an Atiny!
