Well, that answers a question I had about my van.....I guess it won't work to flip that seat around permanently. To me, a swivel seat would be great, but I'm pretty happy with the way things are in my van....so I won't try to fix what ain't broke! Thanks, Tim!
Right!!!! 😁 If it isn't broken, Tim still thinks that it can be improved!!!! I'm giving up yet.😉 My thinking hat is back on! Now, at least I can see what I'm dealing with.
I put a swivel on mine, used it like that for two years. Just recently completely removed it for more room since I never sat in it. I now have a flashing air bag light but you would be proud of me Tim I fixed that....I put a piece of black tape over it🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha GOOD JOB, Mona!👏👏👏 I am currently have a yellow tire pressure LOW staring at me all the time! My van is over 15 years old, and those batteries from the TPS sensors are DONE! It has to be replaced and reprogrammed!😱 That's beyond my capabilities. I might have to go with the Black tape route too!😂😂😂
@@MoBangFoYoBucks LOL I have that light also because I put bigger tires on here and didn't put the sensors in. I fixed that real fancy like though with double sided black tape and a little pin a friend gave me🤣🤣
Oh noooooo!!! So sorry! But you had a great intention, that's what counts!!! I'm happy that at least you got to play with your tools for a little bit though!!! 🤗🤗🤗🥰🥰🥰
@@MoBangFoYoBucks nah!!! Real masters face obstacles and then they overcome them! I'm sure you will find some good use for that seat somewhere!!! What about leaving that space empty for a while? 😜😊🤗
Just an idea. Two bolts, install. The other two, mark and drill holes (check under car first. Once drilled, got to hardware store, find two big nuts that fit. Install, not complete, lube bolts with Vaseline, use epoxy on nuts to under carrage mating surface. Vasaline keeps epoxy off bolts. - if that makes sense. If not let me know. I can see if i can show something... unsure.
Hi Tim, good information for owners of the same van. I guessing that you're going to buy the part to allow it to turn...At least I would like to see you install that. 😃
That's cool!!!! I want yo flip it back around permanently. But you can see that the mounting bolts patterns are totally different from the back and the front!🤔
Sorry it didn't work out. My original plan in my Suboverland was to turn the passenger seat around and use it for my bed. Unfortunately, you can't turn them around in Suburbans and they also don't lean back far enough. That's why I tore out the seat and put my bed in the passenger side area. I needed the space more than the passenger seat since I am solo.
Tim you need to design a "Lazy Susan" bracket like on the dinner table ? Might be easier than you think. The seat might sit a bit higher but not sure how tall you are. I got a 2006 ford freestar and may work on something for my psg seat . Good luck Pat
The problem is that I want to keep my " homemade" center console. I dont have evfn 1/4 of an inch space to turn the seat around on a lazy susan. I have thought about it for a long time. It looks simple, but I saw a guy who made a swivel for the Sienna. It's a long drawn process, and he has expensive metal work machine to play with.
you do things that most people would never try because it looks complicated and even though it was an opps I bet you could create a way to flip that seat because you are so creative
If you grind off the two seat adjustment limiting bumps, then push the seat back and off the rail using the seat adjustment lever. Reinstall the seat backwards on the rail. Was going to try that on my Suzuki Every Van, but too lazy so far 😂
@@MoBangFoYoBucksLet me know how it goes. If I get to it first, I will let you know. In the process of moving into another rental house now, so no time. Lots of recommendation here to put in seat swivels, but my Suzuki has hand brake, so is too small to swivel the seats. Hope reversing it on the existing tracks works. Can even install safety pins in the rail to prevent over travel when adjusting the seat for driving. I think that's the only purpose of the limiting bumps. Happy holidays!
Wow seems pretty simple so far with the back brackets. Don’t know why they make some wiring clips so weird. Oh well that’s a bummer. Was looking forward to seeing the swivel in action. Is there any way to fabricate something to make it work? If we ever did a van build, I think I’d want swivel seat. Might be a good chore for Jonnie 😂She’s good at it.

It sure would!😪
Wow you are so handy. I love seeing your adventures and the new things you have going on. Sending love and greetings your way my friend.

Thanks. I needed the bit about the electrical connections.
Good job on getting the wiring disconnected. I struggled with the center console when I pulled my seat out. Sorry it didn't work out for you.
