This video just made me love learning about this time period even more!!! Could you do more of this era? (Ie Sima Yi under Wei, turning into the Jin dynasty? Or Zhuge Liang’s impact in Shu)
Clicked on this because i've played Dynasty Warriors since the OG only to find out my favorite MMA creator is here to break down Lu fucking Bu... What a wonderful surprise...
Awesome video, Weasel! I especially appreciate you delaying the Khalid al-Walid video while you gather more data on him - he's a fascinating commander who deserves attention.
Lu Bu was one of the greatest warriors at the time he was feared/revered through China at that time his Horse Red Hare was a sign of Prestige. However Lu Bu biggest downfall was his disloyalty he killed both of his adopted fathers Ding Yuan and Dong Zhuo and this is the reason why Cao Cao had Lu Bu hanged after his defeat at Xia Pi castle in 198 AD
didn’t have a patreon account but made one specifically for your mma and trails of steel podcast just now. was putting it off but i’m too invested into this😂 ik he’s well known but maybe a genghis khan ep would be cool or even if clad the impaler
I'm part of the minority that thinks lu bu's story is actually a tragedy anyone w common sense or empathy could see he'd never mentally or emotionally matured from the day he was conscripted as a pre pubescent by a warlord would anyone from then on teach him morality what's really right he went from ding yuan to dong zhuo both of which only valued his prowess for battle so a young impressionable mind will be conditioned to think there is no loyalty or love only power. Comparably the true story of Zhang fei ma Chao gan ning and even cao cao make them considerably worse imo than lu bu had someone showed him some loyalty or if someone had valued something about him other than battle he probably wouldn't have feverishly pursued a kingdom of his own aka a home biggest what if in the three kingdoms is if someone had the foresight to win the icy heart of lu bu (Diaochan doesn't count most believe she's fictional)
The eunuch has his thing removed so that he can work in the Palace around the queen and other females. (As I was told when I was a kid watching Chinese shows on TV)
Awesome podcast as always. Had a little bit of struggle with the Chinese names but nevertheless still extremely interesting. If anybody is interested in Chinese history, there’s a very good manga about Chinese warlords called “Kingdom” it’s an amazing read!
Oh you have to do Guan Yu, man became a deity. My culture has his statues everywhere today and we’re not even Chinese. God of War, Loyalty, and Business.
That part about lobbing off heads and running around showing them off... I actually saw pictures of people doing that while perpetrating a genocide in modern times. I think WWII era, Croatia maybe.
Please don’t stop posting this brother, it’s currently Ramadan in my culture and I’ve been trying to cut out music (as it’s disliked within Islam), these podcast have filled the void very well

History and workouts sounds like a perfect combo. I need to try that haha
Another Trials of Steel banger, seriously underrated channel. I’d love a video on Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart, one of the toughest men to ever live
The Asian names makes this one harder to grasp but still gold 👌🏻
Yeah there's a lot of names that sound the same.

Sima Yi was Actually posthumously honored as Emperor Xuan of Jin by his Grandsin Sima Yan the 1st emperor of the Jin Dynasty

I would love to hear you all tell us about Tamerlane.

Lu Bu, do not pursue!
Aint no fucking way you did one on Lu Bu. Dynasty Warriors as a kid this guy would always destroy me 😂 leaving a like
Never fight Lu Bu lol
It's not even worth fighting Lu Bu he doesn't ever drop anything good
@@justinthebeau2590 its the challenge lol
@@TrailsofSteel especially on DW5
That sun jian dude is the fucking man
Even surprised me how much of a badass he was
@@TrailsofSteel you should definitely do a follow up video about him and his son thanks for the great content.
Video on gan Ning?
Will you be talking about the rest of the warlords like Liu Bei, Cao Cao etc? I am particularly interested in Date Musamune and Sanada Yukimura.
An episode about Maharaja Ranjit Singh would be cool. A 2020 BBC poll named him the "Greatest Leader of All Time."
Oh you have to do Guan Yu, man became a deity. My culture has his statues everywhere today and we’re not even Chinese. God of War, Loyalty, and Business.
I recall him being depicted in Record of Ragnarok. An anime that’s pretty wacky lol. So I’m excited to see a realistic depiction .
Lu Bu vs Thor haha

heads up description is about Richard the Lionheart
I'm an hour into the podcast and realized it sounds like 2 men gossiping about a lot of men and their drama😂
wow, no food? not even grass, weeds, roots, insects? no animals. all frozen I guess... crazy!
So good
Thank you!
