All advertised post launch content for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands ended 6 weeks ago. In contrast, Borderlands 3 would release Guns, Love & Tentacles in 2 weeks time which holds more gameplay value by itself than the entire Wonderlands season pass.
The base game was really fun. It was the DLC that killed it. Lacked imagination and felt lazy. Surprising cause for the most part the DLC has usually been pretty good for the Borderlands franchise.
You can’t compare this to bl2 or bl3 at all there nowhere near similar! And borderlands 3 was way better then this idk what you get paid for lolll shit review! They obviously expected more but in reality in bl2 we had tiny Tina’s dlc which was this game on crack and how it should have bin!
I just bought it on sale a week ago and I totally agree. They dialed down the loot drops and it feels like Borderlands 1 rates but with dedicated drops like BL2. I loved BL1 for that. Also being able to get side quest gear in the vending machines is awesome. There's more that I'm leaving out but I agree.
Bl3 was pretty rough at the start but had really good support... Wonderlands however, had a really good base game but got such a rough support it killed the game faster than any before it...
I lost faith in this game as soon as I saw what Coiled Captors would be. On the bright side, the disappointment brought on by Wonderlands post launch got me to revisit 2 and 3. Currently getting my Axton to OP10, which is something I never went after before. Having a lot of fun with it
One the greatest current Gen spiltscreen Games of 2022, my Tiny Tina content got me 100'000 of views....just saying (i liked the Raid Shadow slip also, i noticed)
My wife and I were REALLY HYPED UP BIG TIME for wonderlands to release !!! So much so I was constantly on RUclips looking up everything I possibly could in the coming game. We were one of the first to pre-order the game the moment it came available to do so. Upon the moment the game was released to be played we were eagerly sitting together At our comp’s waiting to fire it up and play !!!! It was within a week we were ALREADY feeling like this game was NOT going to be all it was hyped up to be. It was just consistently a moderate level of excitement and game play 😢 also the boring time of moving between “ worlds “ and delay time. Also the understanding of the mixing of weapons and magic and shields / armor. Not a simple as BDL series. We also didn’t like the repetition of what my wife like to call the “ mini battles “ when running into a enemy in the over world. It was just the SAME THING OVER AND OVER again. Im a fan of game play and NOT dress up . Which brings me to another point !!!! This game drops TOO MUCH APPAREL !!! I personallyDO NOT CARE WHAT MY CHARACTER IS WEARING !!! I’m More Interested in my weapons and gear then my look for posing still shots 😂 there are just a lot of things that never really clicked right with wonderlands to grab our attention for more then 2 months. We played as I stated for about 2 months on a daily basis at approximately 4 hours a day. Needless to say an update came out for BDL and my wife said “ let’s play BDL2 or 3 today instead of Tina’s ?” So off Tina’s went and back to BDL 2 and we NEVER have been back to Tina’s since. Sadly unlike BDL series we do not get “ homesick “ for playing Tina’s like we are missing something as we do for BDL series . No matter how many times we have played BDL thru and even played for PERFECTION and the GOD rolls of everything in the game we STILL want to play it …. BDL goes down with legendary games like pac man , donkey Kong , sonic , centipede , Mario brothers etc. games that no matter how many times you play you want to play them again and again … BDL 2 I’m STILL looking for the 94% sham !!! I have a 93% lol but not the 94% but I’m still playing and I’m going to get it one day !!!! Now if this in itself don’t tell you I’m STILL interested in bdl2 then I do not know what does 😊😂 … Thank you SGZ for all you do and the interest you express in you content and game reviews and discoveries . I’ve watched you for years and you never cease to impress us !!!! Can’t wait for you to walk us they the next BDL !!!!
Appreciate the kind words! I think it's great that you and your wife connect through Borderlands, I had that with my sister growing up. Here's to the next adventure 🥂
My wife & I felt similar. We played it together but only for a couple of days before she got bored. I played for at least 2 weeks before I got bored of it. Never even beat the game. Highest level I reached was 25 by the time I quit & moved on. Went back to BL3.
The story was pretty interesting and imo better and not as boring as bl3’s but that’s personal preference cause I could not slug through bl3’s campaign so many times.
Personally, I find the game very enjoyable. Playing it, I had a lot of fun and the only regret was that it was decided to use the "loot luck" system and not, like in BL3, the possibility of farming bosses and their dedicated drops. In BL3, after reaching engame, I like to farm myself the gear that interests me and I don't need to do it by repeating one activity (like chaos chamber) all the time
Fl4k reflux/bonus ice after active, insta crit active 3 second cool down. Me and a buddy duoed the alien raid on elite, and that's before we rinsed all the content and started playing with speed mods
Personally I really liked the loot system. When I go back to playing older borderlands games it feels kinda disappointing when you look around everywhere and fine nothing. With the loot die it at least gives you a chance to get better items. In tiny Tina’s wonderlands though the skill tree system SUCKS
Games I still play: Borderlands 1 Borderlands 2 Borderlands 2VR Borderlands TPS Borderlands 3 Games I stopped playing: Wonderlands Reasons being: chaos chambers that became boring after day 2 and spending half of the time in game putting shards in stupid bunny statues. Positives: beautiful map and zones, Tiny Tina (obviously) and a cool story.
I think the thing I love so much about wonderlands, (I've only played about 30 hrs) is the change from every other BL game. It's been a nice switch up. I feel with the new character skill tree and hero points plus mythic ranks, it gives a lot of re-playability, which is what I love so far. In a week, I've jo idea how I'll feel about the game. But either way, ive enjoyed it, not the perfect game, but the very change that I needed.
It’s the exact same tho. Only difference is name change and instead of having CHOICE like in every other BL game you’re extremely restricted. Hero points is badass token except worse. Mythic is also op levels. Like nothing has changed at all. It’s the same except things just implement extremely terribly.
@@zedmiasma7304nah it’s different fr, the class mixing aspect and the passives go crazy. It’s just not the same on with borderlands. It’s like borderlands but everything I like about has been boosted and the things I didn’t like (vehicles, long ass story, hella walking etc. now we got melee weapons and the grenades replaced with spells and finding all the shrines and loot dice and getting 100% in this game just feel nice. Combining the damn classes is and the difference between them go crazy. It just hit different in my area at least. A lot of people I know think it’s superior and the road to 100 was cool.
Needs more balance of weapons, e.g., make Dahlia rifles and Blackpowder snipers much more viable. Maybe reroll elements, and higher chances of armor dropping to your own classes. More bank space for each combination of classes. Chaos level 50 shouldn't have volatile or chaotic drops. Also RAIDS like maliwan takedown!
The game feels very smooth to play, especially when using the clawbringer's storm hammer or stabbomancer's ghost blade, but the chaos level idea I think leads to a dead end. They should have done something like lend increased loot luck for locations on some kind of rotation instead so that players have a tangible reason to travel around and visit different areas. Equipment has issues of its own too though like having the same armor being able to drop for every possible class combination... definitely needed some more time to develop
exactly. The end game has no payoff. You play chaos chambers solely so you can get stronger gear in order to play.... stronger chaos chambers. The game needs a "takedown" of sorts
@@noahbenice7375 - I actually keep it installed and play it every few days. There is something relaxing about playing the Chaos chambers and mirror DLCs and I love the fantasy theme. I especially like that the player's safehaven is Brighthoof. I wasn't crazy about the safehavens we got in the Borderlands games. Overall, I like everything about the BL/TTW games though. I would rather have variety that TTW adds and not just BL themes so to me the addition of TTW is very welcome!
@@mosstwig3591 u sure cause after getting trough that horrible campaign I had endless activities to do and lots of loot to find and also build diversity is insane for n borderlands 3
I feel you on this. I did managed to finish the campaign, but everytime I attempted another playthrough I just got bored and stopped after an hour or so. Played every character in the other game.
I agree, I have banked more than 63 days of raw play time. And played a shit ton of bl1 and bl2. But wonderlands I never even finished my first playthrough. I got tired of killing the same 3 enemy types over and over with barely any variation.
I was really excited to play Wonderlands and played as often as I could but seeing how only 6 months later the content is possibly over and the dlc we actually got has turned into quite a disappointment i was so ready to drop the cash on the season pass I was so glad I waited and dodged that bullet.
The base game was great. Chaos Chambers got old fast. The dlcs were terrible. Even new game plus would have helped. Thankfully the other games still have much more content and I find them more or less infinitely replayable.
The base game itself was not a failure. It was just waaaayyyy too short. What failed was the endgame AFTER we beat the story. They needed a way to justify the game’s price tag and we fell for it like a charm. This was a side hustle. Nothing more. Hopefully BL4 will be better….if there is one.
Gearbox just announced that they will be turning TTW into it's own franchise/series! I actually love this game so I'm really happy that they will be adding more content to this!
@@ethan2436 who knows. There are lots of dedicated borderlands fans that’ll play anything that has anything to do with the borderlands universe. If Gearbox learns what they did wrong with TTW, then they could possibly improve the sequel.
@@ethan2436 hold on lets not kill ttw just yet maybe gearbox was just testing the water and seeing how wed like a new style of borderlands games if they do make a 2nd ttw maybe it'll be better and longer lol
I haven't touched this game in like two months which is a shame because Tiny Tina is my favorite Borderlands character and I love high fantasy universes like what Wonderlands is but man, trying to painfully grind up to chaos 50 which where only like 2 builds can do it is annoying and frustrating. I barely got to like 22 and with no DLC's that are fun and replay able I just haven't had much interest in this game anymore which is sad as I was really looking forward to it.
Mh I actually think Tiny Tinas is the best game in the Borderlands Franchise so far. I didn't touch it again after beating the game once solo, however I will return and play it with friends again today. So I don't think it was a fail at all, no game will have people playing it forever thats just how things (should) go. It's more about the experience you got out of it for yourself which was a very good one for me.
Best is a lil crazy there are a lot of good/cool things like being able to make ur own character and the skills and gameplay but the best is prolly 2 or maybe 3 just 3s story was long and boring with bad written characters and that one shop under the base never updated so 2 it prolly the best and 2 definitely has the best story and the most effort in it
They knew what they were doing. Hope they’re happy now. I have absolutely 0 plans to purchase tales from the borderlands and when the next main series game comes, I’m not pre ordering nor am I buying the game day 1. I’ll wait for reviews and base my purchase off that
I still remember playing Bloody Harvest for the first time and thinking "was that is? Is that 8 minutes all I'm doing for the next month?" It felt short and half baked at the time. If you had told me then that this free seasonal event was bigger/longer/better than anything on the season pass for the next game I would have called you crazy... Now I wonder how gearbox can get away with now charging us for such short, shit DLC (sorry, plc... Whatever the fuck they're calling it now) I'm just glad I don't like tell tale style games so I know I won't be stung by new tales from the borderlands, gearbox aren't getting a penny out of me for that one.
The problem here isnt the game per se but the player expectation after BL3. Sure its not as good as Bl3 in many ways but it had some differences like multi-classing, melee weapons and spells that worked really well. I think GB only ever intended it to have a short shelf-life and used it as an experiment to trial new ideas. Lets hope they've heard loud and clear that wheels, bunnies and short PLCs are a no-no. Edit: I bought the season pass and managed to put in over 540 hours so think I got my money's worth :)
i think the main issue with wonderlands is that it fails to deliver on all of its improvements that it was presenting; • melee is subsequently shafted to be a stat stick post-launch, despite the contrary notion. • this definitely had a bit more refinery in aspects of the writing and its return to form with lower peak numbers and less inflation were nice! unfortunately, there is now **100** chaos levels, it feels like parody that this sort of artificial endgame scaling was subsequently a problem that they HAD solved, and decided to UNRESOLVE it. • chaos chambers is some of the best endgame content we've had, right besides the maliwan takedown - cartels and so on. it is not enough to carry the endgame solely on premise, especially when its procedural-generated to some extent. making it the sole focus of the endgame really soured everything else once the dust settled. • build diversity is arguably worse than borderlands 2, with an even smaller fractal of items being usable for endgame. • the pitfall of only two elements being relatively viable somehow reared its head after being somewhat fixed in bl3. • ??? a very estranged development cycle. • vendors are clogged with an unreal amount of bloat. • side-quests are no longer optional, but an enforced route you have to take to stay on-level. i don't know what the direction was for this, but it certainly was unnecessary. • loot luck, as a mechanic. it's just so inconvenient for anyone who plays the game for the first time - and stays inconvenient for lategame. a common term you'll see here is 'feature bloat', there's so much stuff that i think everyone collectively forgot that these mechanics were there to give newer players more quality-of-life - but you don't hear that anymore. it was practically coming out of every borderlands youtuber at the time, quality-of-life! you can slide into ammo crates to open them? cool? healing barrels???? exist??? they just seem absent. i sincerely hope borderlands 4 will release in 2026-2027. i'd much rather take a full development cycle to make something to level my nostalgia once more. post-launch bl3 was impressive on how far it could rise from bein' kinda shite, but this is more of a slow crawl.
People don’t seem to understand that most companies don’t give a shit if you stop playing after 30 minutes. As long as they got your $50-$70, it was a success.
I actually like Tiny Tinas Wonderland more than Borderlands. It can partially be because I like fantasy settings way more than the wasteland setting. I like the classes much.
wonderlands is the only borderlands game i regretted buying the initial game was good but the dlc was so sad especially with how strong its been in every game before even the pre sequel it was better
i agree with everythng you said. Think about it most content creators like yourself who basically are borderlands exclusive or majority all at once switched to playing either BL 3 or Bl2 around the same time frame or another game franchise all together. Verses when you played bl 2/3 and stood on it for years with out changing to another game or were doing some sort of nostalgic event either way it was not out of boredem/frustration. sadly hardly anyone goes back to BL presequel or the original one lol. The difference between BL 3 is they were fixing the game constantly and as you stated giving you updates/roadmaps on the big stuff and even their little stuff were welcomed and praised improvements on wep fixes, class or quality of life. The fact that they are giving more attention to a game like a tale tell game which is fun but has nothing going for it outside of story and no future updates on tiny tina's says a lot. Tales of borderlands or walking dead games you beat within like 1-7 hours (depending if its 1 episode per month or all episodes at once when you get them). I hope i amwrong but i think they are letting this game die i base that on the overall treatement of the 6 months its been out vs how they treat the other Bl games epscoally 3 within that same time frame. If they do turn it around it will have to be something extrodinarily epic for that to occur and they may let this die to save that for BL 4 to be a justified purchase/apology.
Tiny tina wonderlands would have been a success and even more than a success if it was a dlc for bl3 just like that tiny tina dlc for bl2 it was amazing like ppl loved it so much was the best dlc for bl2 If gearbox wasn't greedy they would have made this game as a final dlc for bl3 ppl would appreciate it more And after that focusing on making bl4 But eh well it is what it is
That “tamper your expectations” stuff infuriates me to no end. Cyberpunk made it a crime to expect a worthwhile and long-lasting experience from your $70 purchase.
Also the price: I paid 120€ (90 on day one + 30 for Season Pass 2) for Borderlands 3, never once felt ripped of for lack of quality and quantity of content, I spent over 1000 hours on it and counting. I paid 75€ for Wonderlands, did the campaign only once, got to chaos level 20 with almost no patience for it at all and ignored the 'DLC's' entirely. Haven't played it since. Something failed there 😑
The base game was fun. But they had so much potential to do small one off campaigns like a D&D game for the dlc and they wasted it on just making these small dlcs that together should have been the price if one of the 4 dlcs. Borderlands was the last franchise I was preordering. Not anymore. I will wait now till all the dlcs are out and discounted.
I think saying wonderlands failed is not accurate at all. It may not have met some of our expectations, but I think we as fans overhyped it and expected too much from it. Wonderlands is a pretty good game that will help gearbox make BL4 the best it can be. I'm happy that they tried something different for this game.
I found this game to not be very entertaining. Tina was great in BL2 at least. Also, the game shuts down very often when entering spots on overworld map and entering the portal to get rewards in chaos mode which fkn sucks. I won’t be purchasing any DLCs at all because of that. 15-20 minutes in chaos chamber and no rewards because it shuts down on an Xbox x. Fk that
It's interesting to me that so many people view TTW as a failure. Compared to other games on the market these days TTW is a full package and then some, where other games can at times be virtually unplayable. The standards folks have (I assume because of BL2 and BL3) that aren't being met is also something to note. TTW is a spinoff game, not a main-line title in the franchise. Similar to how Pre-Sequel wasn't a main-line title (and it only got the one DLC). The reason Gearbox views this game as a success I think is because they know it's a spin off and didn't really expect it to sell as well as it did, but folks love the BL universe and so the game sold like hotcakes. I don't know that the game not featuring the same support/DLC as past entries is indicative of it being a failure. I genuinely don't think it was designed with those things in mind the way BL3 was.
gearbox got me on wonderlands. this is the last game I ever buy new from them. always will be a secondary market purchase from now on. NEVER AGAIN Gearbox. IF they had just made dedicated drops and fixed the loot chance I would have played it. I hate the chaos chambers.
It didn't fail financially according to Randy, but the season pass obliterated any goodwill that remained with the community and the effects will be seen with decreased sales of New Tales (I think it will bomb) and BL4. Pre-order numbers will be in the gutter.
@@TimmyTurner421 Yep. BL3 finished in a very good state IMO, but it was quite a bumpy ride for us day players. Remember that big red chest event with all the legendaries? They raised the level cap the day after it ended lol.
I and my game play team awaited wonderlands with great anticipation. We did the whole pre-order thing. I even used a link from a content creator... I really did enjoy the main story line and the side areas. I am very disappointed in the fact there is no reason to revisit these maps. OK I did farm Pigwart multiple times for a very specific Goblin Pickaxe, but in general? Dedicated boss farms would be nice. If I wanted to play one armed bandits I would go to Vegas. The barf bunnies are boring. Thank goodness the upped the crystal feed (but seriously I would like a "spend all" button... maybe have the bunny explode spectacularly? just saying...) I actually read a book when I am spinning the wheel of fate. Can it be more mindless? Another candidate for "spend all" and explode... Also I created dedicated toons just for the wheel; one that had made it through the main story, then separate copies to run through each DLC to limit the loot pool and number of pretties dropped. That was also an insane waste of time. I kinda planned to do it with each character, but as you can imagine I lost interest... Especially since I am doing the level to 100 stuff again. Side note, if you wanna get your pretties then run through all 4 DLCS and everything, farm crystals in DLC3 mine cart room, and then hit the wheel - it will spit out pretties 10 (?) at a time at least as often as any other loot (or at least that is my impression) I don't mind the Chaos chambers but then again I do mind them. I like the concept, but I am rather sick of doing them. I was working on getting 6 different toons through the story line when it was still level 10. I got 5 through the main story and maybe two through level 10 before level 20 hit. I ran all 6 toons up to 20, and 35. And 7 through 50. Now that 100 has hit? I am happy that I can rotate my toons into game play with my team just to skip some of that leveling. It is just tedious. I can easily believe there are a large number of players who never went to level 20... let alone 35 and 50. 100? Ha... I have done one... the others will get there when my team gets there... we are doing 2 or 3 levels a night. It is not like we are in a hurry or anything... we have our builds and most of our gear is on level too so refining at this point. I do like the fact that 100 has only primordial and ascended gear as I am also long since tired of farming the similar gear through unranked, chaotic, volatile, primordial, and ascended... The RNG stuff it nuts - good thing I am not looking for the perfect Brutal Stampede (have you looked at that thing?) This is one thing that irritated me with BL2 and BL3, I would no sooner get my loot and then it was all crap and I was back to farming again. But at least I could go farm a boss. I didn't know how good we had it. The DLCs were a disappointment plain and simple. They were total nothing burger. Me and my team ran through the first one planning on spending several days... and pfft we were done in 20 minutes. We were like "is that it?" We had hopes for more especially after Fyodor... hints were dropped that there is something more to our hostess. I was hoping maybe the 4th would have some sort of real story. But... nope. More nothing burger. I have missed events like the bloody harvest, cartel, and valentines day stuff. Everything is centered on the Chaos Chamber and after spending so much time there leveling? Nah, I don't wanna... I am still playing but we spend a lot of time discussing You Tube videos, and books, and recipes and... So far no one has suggested going back to one of the other borderlands games. I guess we did enough of that waiting for BL3. I have lobbied for other games but so far they haven't bitten...
I think the reason why TTWL failed was because the fact it felt like what the Pre Sequel was to Borderlands 2. It was a much more diet version of the game that came before it. Not to mention all the DLC was just "Hey it's just Chaos Chamber! But even more!" It's like finishing a bowl of dog food and getting rewarded with another bag of dog food.
1 skill tree for each character is a huge problem to me. Terrible legendary weapons are a huge issue. Not very many legendary weapons is also a problem. Not enough bosses. The best weapons shouldn't be guns you throw..
I think it’s the parent company Embracer that is trying out this new pricing strategy. The Chaos Edition lowest price on console has been $60 which I find ridiculous.
I actually got BL3 for free. The key is to wait long enough, lol! I bought TTW full price though because I love the theme and I honestly don't regret it. But yeah, I can understand waiting for the TTW price to go down. A game isn't fun if you feel you paid too much for it. That's what I felt about the TTW DLCs for this first season pass. I'm really hoping that when Gearbox comes out with season 2 that they will give it free to all those that bought season pass #1.
The writer was slammed for wanting to bring in characters that suffer from mental illness. Some of them were to be non binary competing against biological women in mini games. This turned off female players as well as their boyfriends.
honestly this game is extremely fun, my biggest gripe about it which killed it in my opinion was it was extremely EXTREMELY horrible to replay and the endgame was absolute garbage
Borderlands 2: 1500+ hours (still play, still installed) Borderlands 3: 1500+hours (still play, still installed) Pre-Sequel: 900hrs Assault on Dragonkeep Standalone: 300+hrs Wonderlands: 100+hrs, bailed out after DLC2 and haven't felt any desire to reinstalled. Wonderlands had a lot of glitz and shiny stuff at the beginning but it is incredibly shallow. Almost the entire game is just an overworld with tons of Chaos Chamber maps. The gameplay gets super old super fast. The map design sucks because of the constraints of the chamber format as well. Great combat and builds but everything else is as shallow as it gets. Combine that with devs continuing to nerf things instead of bringing others up to par and then 2 weeks later releasing something game breaking and waiting another month to nerf it the entire thing is just a cycle of boredom and frustrationi.
I originally went into Wonderlands viewing it like a mainline Borderlands game and I hated it. I dropped it and then went back a few months later seeing it more like the Pre-Sequel and enjoyed it a lot more. DLC was still horrible though.
My biggest two issues with wonderlands were 2: 1: The gunplay. I still hold close to my heart my favourite weapons from Bl3, they may not be the strongest, but the sure were fun to use, and actually decent, but in wonrdelands. Boy after like 60 hours i still dont like any of the weapons, and the few interesting weapons out there deal so much pathetic dmg that is not even worth putting them to show. 2: the classes, so much potential lost, why bother making a "multiclass" if you can only have one skill? I can asure you I can press one button more. Not only that, the interaction between the classes themselves is non existant, the second class is just for passives or buffs. why cant the Brrzerker start spining and create a tornado of graveborn´s dark magic while on it? why cant the clawbringer launch the hammer and create a explosion of posion homming missiles in the center of the it using the sporemancer?. So many cool posibilities wasted.
I believe the reason you can't use two action skills is because literally every button on a controller is already being used. So unless you threw out the spell slot for the action skill, there's no way to add more without removing controller support.
If I don’t have to spell it out for you while I’m going to throw it out anyway, they figured out the formula with borderlands three. They figure it out once needed it necessary to keep people engaged in playing and are doing the same things but the necessary elements in Genia because they have the same number of people playing it
Oh that sucks u should play the old ones they are much better and playable but 3 has a bad/long story plus it all follows a story so in order if u wanna know the story play 2 the space one or u can play this one before 2 then 3 there's also 1 but I ain't play the dlcs but the main story don't seem that useful
Im gonna be honest. I didnt play WL because my friends didnt have the specs to run it. They barely could run BL3 but for some reason they decided to amp up the requirements for WL and left my boys behind. That, and the hefty price tag.
The campaign was okay, not the best. Chaos chamber was boring as hell. And the boss fights were, for the most part very disappointing because the dedicated drops had a very small chance of dropping and if they do drop legendaries, they were world drops. I've farm dryl so many times and I saw his staff and sniper drop every like 15 runs or so but he can drop world drop legendaries all the time. Another problem with this game is, like you said, they do have weekly updates for this game and they buff everything except rocket launchers and I wished that they would increase the level cap so that we could have higher chances at having more powerful gear. A lot of people want pearlescent gear but gearbox said to do that they have to get rid of a weapon manufacturer in order to do so. I'm done with this game. So good for it when gearbox said it did well financially, but they're blind to the truth.
Iv been enjoying the base game though there is something off about it to me however I did notice the dlcs just feel…idk more like just they don’t feel like expansions to the game like the older dlcs
Still not having NewGame+ is absolutely shameful. This didn’t sell well IMO and I don’t believe 2k/Gearbox saying it “did better than expected”. It’s really unfortunate that I believe Gearbox is doomed(no good story narrative ever coming back). Besides, Randy has sold his company to Embracer so he doesn’t care if the dlc(plc) is garbage or if the franchise crashes
Regards Wonderlands weekly hotfixes, a few weeks ago we had one that (other than the weekly rotations) only adjusted 1 piece of text. A week or 2 after that the hotfix was just the weekly rotations. Smacks of GB giving up on the game to me
I called it with Wonderlands shortly after beating for the first time. When I started to finish off some of the side quests I'd skipped and played a few rounds in the chaos chamber I started to notice how copy and paste the levels felt. I decided to wait for the DLC from the season pass, but after finding out it was PLC and not DLC I decided there wasn't anything really worth exploring in the game. Despite the fantastical setting of the game, it is ultimately as generic a borderlands game as I've ever played.
I completely forgot this game even existed...I barely even remember seeing it on Steam during the the winter sale. This was just a complete blank space in my memory.
I dont get it! WHY HAS GEARBOX GOTTEN so tone deaf? Where are the Amazing Story Mode DLCS? , Take Downs, Invincible Raids, etc, etc! WTF 🤬! This hurts to see that they are leaning harder into diluted and empty content.
The support and lack of actual story DLC is a major problem with how this game failed. But I also feel like the fact they didn't have legendary vault hunter playthroughs after you finished the main story was a HUGE mistake. it had a good story and not giving your character a chance to explore it a second on third playthrough was a terrible idea. I understand that they wanted you to focus on the chamber and maybe if you wanted to do the story again, they wanted you to roll up another character... I did that many times, but it was such a letdown when I finished my first playthrough and was all excited to go through with the increase difficulty and beefed-up bad ass enemies. Then when the DLCs hit and it didn't actually progress the story or take you on another campaign with some new villain I really lost all hope. I wish they would come out with a new story similar to a DnD game where you beat the big bad and then a new plot occurs where you need to go and deal with that now... so sad they didn't do this in the first place with the "DLCs" if you can even really call them that
It’s was really fun In the first play through. Gameplay was great. Downside: not enough guns, dlc was not true dlc (still haven’t played them all even though I bought them), and you can’t replay the campaign with the same character
I was waiting for Wonderlands to get better before I buy it. Regretfully it never have. Now I am waiting for it to be free on Epic Games Store, since it's not worth a buy at any lesser discount than -80%.
Chaos chambers being endgame killed wondelands for me. I have the season pass. I've done none of them. No reason to. No wwapons to grind for. Deluge is slagg 2.o. chaos chambers is mayhem levels minus a kaoson or a plaguebarer.
I refuse to think there’s not a lot to do at endgame, all of the side missions, shrine pieces and lucky dice already provide a lot to do at level 40. In my opinion wonderlands needs more but the levels look really good.
well there reallly isn't, because most people would get everything on their first playthrough. so most ends up with ... nothing at the end of the game. it's pretty easy to get everything on your first run, ) except maybe the first 2 maps iirc , you have to come back after water levels gets dropped ) . and since most collectible you find are accound bound, you don;t even need to find them ever again if you start another character
We need dedicated classes again sniper / assassin / brawler / gunner / support In borderlands 1 lilith was an assassin / elemental dps Mordi was your range heavy hitter Brick your tank / brawler And roland the support with a lot of self sustain and good damage Borderlands 2 Salvador heavy gunner with a ton of selfsustain Maya support lockdown and elemental dps Zero sniper /melee assassin Axon damage / support Gaige elemental dps Krieg brawler Pre sequal was a bit weird to me for multipple reasons Athena brawler Wilhelm gunner Nisha sniper but with handguns? Claptrap jack of all trades. Baroness idk the name. A sniper but if you use your action skill your limiting your own visabillity? And timothy you gonna limit your chooses in what your allowed to use in gear? I like the games its just more and more the characters dont feel like they are designed to be good at this 1 thing. And just being able to go all over the place. I used to love the fact that mord was good at using slow heavy hitting weapons (snipers / revolvers) When roland was designed to use assault rifles and shotguns Lilith didnot directly got buffs for sertain weapontypes but repeater pistols and smg where amongst the weapons that best applyed elemental damage. And brick coverd the explotions. Nowdays there are more elements then ever before but i dont think there is a dedicated corosian tree out there. Like there is for ice / fire and explosion
I feel like the only things wonderlands has that I view to be improvements are the myth ranks where you can choose what upgrades you get, spells and their utility compared to grenades, and the story (at least compared to borderlands 3). Maybe the chaos chambers too but I find they get tedious and boring after a while.
Why was there not a 2nd play through? Also basically no point to make a 2nd character since you can just go to a station and put the other one on your character for no price. So much potential
I haven't bought the TTWL's DLC, now I am NOT going to. I have not played the standard game as of yet. Watching your video, makes me want to go back and play BL, BL2, & then BL 3. Because to me, them previous BL games have the BEST DLC's EVER!! However I am willing to give Tiny Tina *standard edition* a chance.
Have not played the dlcs yet but the base game is good it's just end game because u have to do a chaos champer and there's 100 chaos lvls and no it's not a raid so it's not that good
In October 1958, Physicist William Higinbotham created what is thought to be the first video game. It was a very simple tennis game, similar to the classic 1970s video game Pong, and it was quite a hit at a Brookhaven National Laboratory open house. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands does suck compared with the first video game ever. After 1/2 hour of playing, I dropped the game. I continued to play B2 and B3, I enjoy it as I played for the first time.
Brilliant game imo I have played and enjoyed all other bl games if you don't tear through the campaign and complete all the side missions and challenges it's pretty good value for money I'm still enjoying end game and the dlc is OK not great but ok
I dropped the game like a hot potato when my character decided he was bi-sexual with no input from me. If you put a character creator in a game, you create an expectation that the character IS the player, or at least represents something the player themselves made. Gearbox baking such dumb, overtly political decisions into something as personal as character creation killed the fun for me.
Honestly what made me stop playing was that there was no way to replay the main story without making a new character and that really sucked as if I remake a character with all the gear i want i can't replay the story
The real problem was how lackluster the base game was, not how bad the dlc was. Let’s be real, I know we all hated bl3’s story but this wasn’t much better. The side characters were completely forgettable and they left out so many iconic characters for no reason and the ones that were there were underutilized. Hands down the most uninteresting protagonist in the series. One huge mistake was removing the preset characters for the creator character, the established characters with light customization was perfect and didn’t needed to be messed with. The sheer lack of content compared to any other game is also a problem, even tps had more to do and it’s dlc stopped after the first 2. The terrible dlc just made the cracks easier to see.
All advertised post launch content for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands ended 6 weeks ago. In contrast, Borderlands 3 would release Guns, Love & Tentacles in 2 weeks time which holds more gameplay value by itself than the entire Wonderlands season pass.
Ava's mysteriousler questline alone was better than all of the PLCs combined in my opinion.
Bruh
This game is amazing. It came nowhere close to failure.
@@maxyeet don't be a blind fan boy
The season pass being a failure those not make the game itself worthless.
The base game was really fun. It was the DLC that killed it. Lacked imagination and felt lazy. Surprising cause for the most part the DLC has usually been pretty good for the Borderlands franchise.
I personally can't think of one that wasn't good. It's lame that all the dlc in WL don't have half the content as any of the BL2 Headhunter areas
Gearbox is superior at DLC, even for their own in house projects.
Weird to see they lossed their magic here.
@@jamesandthemgiantcheeks2798 I swear I remember more listening to Torgue's Grandma Flexington ranting about space whales than this whole game
Exactly, no one wants to do 100 chaos chambers and then every DLC is just more chaos chamber type play. It was EXTREMELY repetitive.
I think wonderlands is an experiment from the devs to know which is the path for future borderland releases.
Having a lot of fun with it
The way gearbox has dropped the ball got me look for other games similar. Found nightmare reaper and black ice.
One the greatest current Gen spiltscreen Games of 2022, my Tiny Tina content got me 100'000 of views....just saying (i liked the Raid Shadow slip also, i noticed)
Its sad that it didn't get that much post launch support but it was a solid game, I hope whatever they drop next is more like BL3 with support tho
Yea I just hope the story isn't bad/long like bl3 tho
It was the T rating that people turned their noses up at, imo
Now if this in itself don’t tell you I’m STILL interested in bdl2 then I do not know what does 😊😂 …
Thank you SGZ for all you do and the interest you express in you content and game reviews and discoveries .
For my wife and I it was the broken split screen Inventory that forced us to quit.
@@CyPress19880 Yes! I agree. It was so difficult for 2 people to view their inventory at the same time.
I quickly learned from bl 3 since I bought the deluxe edition and was sadly disappointed so I skipped wonderlands.
The story was pretty interesting and imo better and not as boring as bl3’s but that’s personal preference cause I could not slug through bl3’s campaign so many times.
This should just be a fact bro
I played it with the voices muted recently 😂
Why does the skill tree system suck?
The BL3 loot system is lame. Feels like minecraft creative mode. Legendaries don't feel rare at all.
Games I still play:
Borderlands 1
Borderlands 2
Borderlands 2VR
Borderlands TPS
Borderlands 3
Games I stopped playing:
Wonderlands
Reasons being: chaos chambers that became boring after day 2 and spending half of the time in game putting shards in stupid bunny statues.
Positives: beautiful map and zones, Tiny Tina (obviously) and a cool story.
Bl3 is infinitely worse than wonderlands wake up brother. Also bl3 was so boringgggggg compared to all the games.

@@zedmiasma7304not the same at all, did you ever play BL1 2 and 3?
The skill tees are booty
Gearbox said they'll be adding more content so I'm looking forward to that!

As someone who has spent thousands of hours playing BL1-3, I didn't even finish the campaign for TTWL. Not planning to either.
I feel you on this. I did managed to finish the campaign, but everytime I attempted another playthrough I just got bored and stopped after an hour or so. Played every character in the other game.
Shit whack. Chaos chambers are literally one of the craziest money grabs in gaming history. I finished the main campaign in literally 24 hours
I got bored of chaos chambers after chaos 5. Knowing it was 45 more levels of the same content really put me off.

Its over priced you missed the whole point
I will still black ops 3 till this day, and do. Tiny Tina's really wasn't all that, but it was good in the beginning.
I’ll wait for reviews and base my purchase off that
I’ll wait a year later, for any games they release 😂
I still remember playing Bloody Harvest for the first time and thinking "was that is? Is that 8 minutes all I'm doing for the next month?" It felt short and half baked at the time. If you had told me then that this free seasonal event was bigger/longer/better than anything on the season pass for the next game I would have called you crazy... Now I wonder how gearbox can get away with now charging us for such short, shit DLC (sorry, plc... Whatever the fuck they're calling it now)
I'm just glad I don't like tell tale style games so I know I won't be stung by new tales from the borderlands, gearbox aren't getting a penny out of me for that one.
It's because people encourage it by buying pieced out games. 2/3rds of most games dlc is them slow releasing the entire game
BL3 really did spoil us lol
i think the main issue with wonderlands is that it fails to deliver on all of its improvements that it was presenting;
• melee is subsequently shafted to be a stat stick post-launch, despite the contrary notion.

Same I didn’t even know people thought it was bad
It feels a lot like the first Borderlands game but a little more polished. I like it a lot.
Chaos dungeon being a bland bore fest after a day 99% of the spells melee weapons and guns suck and the dlc being a pointless joke is what killed it.
wonderlands is the only borderlands game i regretted buying the initial game was good but the dlc was so sad especially with how strong its been in every game before even the pre sequel it was better
i agree with everythng you said.
I don't think B3 was finished until we got the re-roll machine anyway.
Tiny tina wonderlands would have been a success and even more than a success if it was a dlc for bl3 just like that tiny tina dlc for bl2 it was amazing like ppl loved it so much was the best dlc for bl2
If gearbox wasn't greedy they would have made this game as a final dlc for bl3 ppl would appreciate it more
And after that focusing on making bl4
But eh well it is what it is
No that shit is a terrible idea, that’s almost like saying ttw shouldn’t have been made.
I know I won't buy a new tiny tinas game any time soon... I spent 125 canadain an it was the worse money I think I ever spent on a game for play time
That “tamper your expectations” stuff infuriates me to no end.
Something failed there 😑
I'm the opposite. Paid full price for BL3 and regretted it. Got this on sale and I love it.
The game where everybody have to tell you that they are gays, trans, bisex while you are just trying to enjoy a fucking first person shooter.
Touche 👏👏👏
Wonderlands biggest fails are the endgame, farming and dlc's. All have not gotten much thought put into them compaired to other borderlands games
I had a feeling they would treat the game like this hence why I didn't buy
The base game was fun. But they had so much potential to do small one off campaigns like a D&D game for the dlc and they wasted it on just making these small dlcs that together should have been the price if one of the 4 dlcs. Borderlands was the last franchise I was preordering. Not anymore. I will wait now till all the dlcs are out and discounted.
This game was boring, and it was a chore to keep playing. I will never play it again.
I got it on sale, DLC and all and I'm having a blast. The classes are fun, the humour is good and the combat is great
gearbox got me on wonderlands. this is the last game I ever buy new from them. always will be a secondary market purchase from now on.
After they released BL3 with all those bugs I will never pre-order again
@@TimmyTurner421 Yep. BL3 finished in a very good state IMO, but it was quite a bumpy ride for us day players. Remember that big red chest event with all the legendaries? They raised the level cap the day after it ended lol.

Side note, if you wanna get your pretties then run through all 4 DLCS and everything, farm crystals in DLC3 mine cart room, and then hit the wheel - it will spit out pretties 10 (?) at a time at least as often as any other loot (or at least that is my impression)
I don't mind the Chaos chambers but then again I do mind them.
Randy was just blowing smoke. Steam stats show 15k players at launch, down to about 1.5k daily players.
You know you can have 2 skill trees right? If you quit that early I recommend working for IGN.
@@CatsOnMars420even with 2 skill trees theres 100% less skills overall than previous BL games. Bad take
@@rapid_rivers3294You can customize your synergy and all of the skills are useful.
It's in my steam wishlist. Waiting for it to hit below 15 USD. Cant believe it's still full price
I’ve only been playing a month and haven’t messed with the dlc but I’m still digging it.
honestly this game is extremely fun, my biggest gripe about it which killed it in my opinion was it was extremely EXTREMELY horrible to replay and the endgame was absolute garbage
Well I really enjoyed it it's just people demanded too much of the game
EXACTLY
In my opinion the game didn't fail just the dlcs really
Borderlands 2: 1500+ hours (still play, still installed)
Borderlands 3: 1500+hours (still play, still installed)
Pre-Sequel: 900hrs
Assault on Dragonkeep Standalone: 300+hrs
Wonderlands: 100+hrs, bailed out after DLC2 and haven't felt any desire to reinstalled.
The game lowkey slaps though, well... as someone who doesn't deny change or something new.
I originally went into Wonderlands viewing it like a mainline Borderlands game and I hated it. I dropped it and then went back a few months later seeing it more like the Pre-Sequel and enjoyed it a lot more. DLC was still horrible though.
My biggest two issues with wonderlands were 2:
1: The gunplay.
I still haven't got to play mine, crashes non stop when trying to design my character...
Failed? I read articles suggesting the game went above expectations and devs might make it a main ip with yearly releases instead of side game
If I don’t have to spell it out for you while I’m going to throw it out anyway, they figured out the formula with borderlands three. They figure it out once needed it necessary to keep people engaged in playing and are doing the same things but the necessary elements in Genia because they have the same number of people playing it
This is my first borderlands game, and I hope it isn’t to dead nowadays
Gearbox just wants your money and to make sure you know about same sex relationships
Not having a new game + option was a gargantuan and bewildering mistake.
Smacks of GB giving up on the game to me
Is this game really that bad? I just started playing with my dad and I love it so far
I love bl3’s dlc so much I started speed running it least favorite is Krieg dlc most favorite is bounty.
The legendary drop rate felt very low, and it's weird that many epic weapons outrank legendaries.
Yeah legendaries should be powerful like wtf 😒
I called it with Wonderlands shortly after beating for the first time. When I started to finish off some of the side quests I'd skipped and played a few rounds in the chaos chamber I started to notice how copy and paste the levels felt. I decided to wait for the DLC from the season pass, but after finding out it was PLC and not DLC I decided there wasn't anything really worth exploring in the game. Despite the fantastical setting of the game, it is ultimately as generic a borderlands game as I've ever played.
remember when you just bought the whole sandwich and didn't have to wait and pay for everything on the bread
This game had such potential :( Great video!
Grinding to level 35 was pretty grueling, especially as a Clawbringer. When they raised it again, just weeks later.....that's what caused me to leave.
We need dedicated classes again sniper / assassin / brawler / gunner / support
In borderlands 1
lilith was an assassin / elemental dps
Mordi was your range heavy hitter
Brick your tank / brawler
And roland the support with a lot of self sustain and good damage
Borderlands 2
Salvador heavy gunner with a ton of selfsustain
Maya support lockdown and elemental dps
Zero sniper /melee assassin
Axon damage / support
Gaige elemental dps
Krieg brawler
Pre sequal was a bit weird to me for multipple reasons
Athena brawler
Wilhelm gunner
Nisha sniper but with handguns?
Claptrap jack of all trades.
Baroness idk the name.
A sniper but if you use your action skill your limiting your own visabillity?
And timothy you gonna limit your chooses in what your allowed to use in gear?
I like the games its just more and more the characters dont feel like they are designed to be good at this 1 thing. And just being able to go all over the place.
I used to love the fact that mord was good at using slow heavy hitting weapons (snipers / revolvers)
When roland was designed to use assault rifles and shotguns
Lilith didnot directly got buffs for sertain weapontypes but repeater pistols and smg where amongst the weapons that best applyed elemental damage.
It’s crazy that this franchise would kill a game due to the lack of imaginative updates. They’re known for being wild and creative. So ironic.
I won't pre-order anymore Borderlands games because of TTW. I'll wait for a sale ....
Wonderlands's last official update was in May 2022 so I think its safe to say the game was abandoned, Spartan..
I love the game i have nothing else other than the characters skills and the end game for me they are sooo boring
