All things considered, that's not that bad. Really it's the manual swap that put it over the edge. The rest is a cheap build, for such a nice ride. My 99 has been a fun car to spend money on. I'm really enjoying the ownership experience. Great cars, and will be going up in value significantly in the future.
Interesting, I appreciate the effort you put into the vehicle. My father and I are taking a 2004 v6 automatic Mustang and swapping it for a 2004 v8 manual. We want to lower, repaint, put side pipes, and put a new set of rims on it. When we are done, the idea is for it to be almost as if we just bought it back in 2004. We are having the engine rebuilt, the seats reupholstered, and new carpet put in.
That's why I love the new edge. I bought my 99 for $700. But I had to put a crate engine in. All my up grades wheels tires . I have about $13,000 in mine.
Got a 1999 Convertible GT with auto trans installed a 3k stall converter on Nittos 3 tires cracks 0 to 60 in just 4.9 seconds. The stall converter and trans shift kit are way faster than a manual. I also dremeled out the intake Elbow and that gives you another 17hp and 27TQ for basically free. Got mine with 70k miles for a few grand more but mint and prices are way up now
I love the box your dad built for the trunk, looks so good when people build aftermarket parts that look stock. As you were listing all of the parts, I was thinking damn that I overpay or under pay for mine but sadly mine is sitting in the driveway wires everywhere, panel pieces, half painted half broken. My car is a mess and it’s a convertible. Also having some issues with the roof but dude of all the new edges on RUclips, you have the cleanest GT I think
Nicely done. I drove a black on black 2003 Mach 1 off of the lot in Dec of 2003. Drove it to shows, in parades and on 50 mile loops. Last year I sustained a bad injury in a cycling accident and came to the realization that we can’t take any of our toys with us when we go. At the time I had 5,300 miles on the Mach 1. I decided to sell my commuter car and press the Mach 1 into daily duty. Now, at just over 7,100 miles I could not be happier with the decision. They are such wonderful cars to enjoy on a daily basis.
Why didn't you just go with T56 magnum transmission? Save you gas with the 3.73 gears. Did that on my 2000. Can feel the difference big time. Saves gas too! Love your ride though.
I do not think that is bad. I recently spent over $300+ just on Diode Dynamics high intensity LEDs for the rear bulbs, revere bulbs and 3rd brake light bulbs. Expensive for bulbs, but it is blinding for anyone behind me. Clean build though. I have a silver '04
1:26 Yea, got the same exact model thanks to the previous owner and I hate it, they set it up to where you can never delete their information, all I can do is listen to the radio. Give me a CD player anytime.
Bruhhhh 🤣🤣🤣 this is my exact situation. I have a fully built 3v. The t56 magnum swap + the price of my car is $13k. Fully built engine plus many other supporting more pushed my total to roughly $20k with no boost. Luckily, that’s next on the list and should be able to easily make 700whp
Yes it hurts but you got what you wanted, I spent about 7 grand on my 04 mustang gt dark shadow gray automatic and keeping it running good costs a little more
You can do this cheaper. I bought an 02 GT with 130k swapped the engine from an 03 with 64k did suspension,clutch,tires,2step,Bama x4 tuner, etc, it had flows and turn downs which i left. I need to refresh paint cause mines a faded e9 red and clean my interior. Grand total with everything including car so far is about 5200. Im painting in spring myself..800 in materials for a high quality factory paint system (i love that e9). Fun car. I think im gonna on3 single turbo it soon.
4200 with approx 105k miles is insane. I bought mine in 2019 at 123,500 for over $7,000 you got a steal fr. How is the Ford Perf. Intake manifold holding up too? the back of mine that connects to the heater core just busted so I gotta get one too....
I don’t think they’re terrible daily’s. Obviously since it’s an older car it’s not going to feel like a new Honda or something along the lines of that. Gas mileage isn’t that bad for what it is. I can usually get around 300 miles on a full tank as long as I’m not giving it a ton of gas lol.
I had an old '02 as a daily driver and honestly it was pretty good to me in the 3 years of ownership. I just did all of the maintenance for it, upgraded to LED's and installed an Android Auto head unit. I miss that car.
It's okay, definitely spending double or more on gas compared to a 4 cylinder that weighs hundreds of lbs less. If you lived somewhere with wide open roads maybe it's better but in an urban sprawl like Los Angeles no way, just burning gas waiting a few lights to cross one signal and such during peak traffic times. I still miss my '99 GT though, x-pipe + axle back + suspension mods + nice tires and I've never had so much driving stop light to stop light; that thing had so much torque that I'd do mini drifts/fish tails at left turns if I stepped on it while waiting.
Dude, you're the one that made these choices, don't complain. You could of worked this deal different. Plus, where's a kid your age getting this dough?
Trust me you don’t want a drop too. Maintenance sucks and leaks happen. Had a 03 101,000 miles just a lot of hassle get a coupe bro.but then again it’s your money just speaking from experience
Thats chump change compared to what some people have spent on mustangs.. where you went wrong was the manual swap. Otherwise the car is a steal. Nothing wrong with 2 valves. They are still quick off the line.. all these new cars do is burn rubber. They are only like a second quicker in the 1/4 mile.. all that money for 1 second.. it really is stupid if you think about it.
The cost is still cheap for what you are getting compared to cost and quality of todays crap. New Edges are gorgeous, remember this life lesson, don't cheat yourself, treat yourself!😊
Ok here it is first of all I don't know what I the hell you are complaining about you got a nice clean car an if all the stuff you've done to was done right you did pretty damn good you got by cheap I think an ok just so every one knows never an I mean never put a cheap ass clutch in these cars either put a stock own original clutch in them or the best clutch bar none clutch I had put in my 01 cobra an that clutch is the best bar none an that clutch is called name brand exedy racing clutch single sports series an yal don't let the race clutch words worry you the clutch isn't to hard to push in an it's smooth as hell an yal when you shift it goes into gears smooth as fuk an impossible to miss any gearsan let me tell all I'm not one who beats on my cobra but when I had the ford dealer do the clutch I also had them go through a full tune up you name it I had them do it including two coil packs an the clutch I had them do a full restoration on the clutch I had them put in a new self adjuster an clutch fork an clutch rod an turn the fly wheel it had never been done an oh yes new cables an throw out bearing an I told them while you got the trans out put in a new rear main seal but they didn't want to because he said the original seal doesn't leak but I said no I want it replaced I looked at the bill when done an they charge me for the seal so I'm sure they replaced it an let me tell you all I don't Wana here all this bullshit about 01 cobras not having power like they claimed back in the day that ford fuk up with the99 cobras an fixed the problem in the 01 cobras because the 320 horsepower that ford put in the 01 cobras sence I've had my 01 cobra convertable finely tuned up an finely the right clutch the car not only has the 320 it suppost to have it got more I'm sure now if ford would of put 355 s in rear instead of highway 327 highway gears this car would even cherp em in 4 the gear.

I have 02 gt so underappreciated
My 2003 Terminator, highly underrated. My 2004 GT w/ Kenne Belle Supercharger.. even more underrated😂
@@frankcastle4010I wish I could afford a terminator but being 18 and my first car as a gt it’ll have to do for now 😭 how many miles is yours running??
@@JohnBeBaked without looking it's like 77k. Well taken care of.
Hearing those prices makes me really want one now! I love this build it’s simple and clean and it’s reliable!
Sharp looking car! I bought a new edge last summer for 14,500 with about the same mods but its a bullitt edition

@@carsonchafindid you install the 3:73 gears yourself?? Did you include labor of all your transmission installation etc. into you price list??

Over 7k? Man I would of boosted that bad boi and had fun with it lol
Very sharp looking car
I feel the same hurt I’m right there with you
Did you do the manual transmission swap yourself? Or a shop? And if you did it just how difficult was it
are these good dailys?i believe you can make these good ones with some interior upgrades but what is gas/driving it like?

No matter how much you spend, the title is at home lol😮💨
It's the "MUSTING'
That’s crazzy nice car tho
For sure you over spent on the wheels tires and transmission swap. I'd bet for the money you spent you could of gotten a nice used saleen or rousch..🤔
If you are going to the drag strip expect to spend a lot more money.😊

I just cried inside because I have 2000 New Edge Convertible that I’m going to have to restore… 🥲 My wallet is about to extremely hate me.
Hahaha I totally understand that!
If you don't DIY I think you're much better off just getting rid of it.
