Cody being diagnosed with ODD and having parents like that? I would distrust the diagnosis at that point, considering how ruthless the parents were on camera. You can only imagine how bad it was off...
Actually it wouldn't surprise me if he did have it bc it can be caused by abuse/neglect, inconsistent or too harsh punishments, unstable home life, etc.

I was also a late diagnosis for autism (level 2) and ADHD as well, so I wonder if he has other conditions as well but the O.D.D was just used for clickbait.

One time we were planning to visit somewhere and were packing, my parents decided to do the same thing. That they're packing me off to a boarding school. They won't remember it but i remember not saying anything and just waiting.. waiting for everything to be gone. S weird how little adults think kids remember and comprehend
Yeah, I completely agree with you. DaddyOFive is just awful, the kid gets framed and it wasn't his fault, and the dad and his brothers just completely confronts them, but it was their fault, not the kid's fault, cos the guy didn't even purchase v-bucks so I don't blame you tho.
I think he was the worst out of all family vloggers out there. The amount of trauma and harrasment that poor child had to go through was just cruel. I hope that the child is doing ok now.
@@aynain1810 Bro I feel you. My Mom did shit that she denies to this day. Once she hit me out of anger and gave me a bruise on my arm. Days later, when she finally noticed it, she asked me how I got it. When I mustered the courage to say it was because of her, she for reals told me "why would you say I hit you? Do you want CPS to take you away from me?" Maybe I should have said "yes".

Family channels are abuse. It's plain and simple. Privacy is a right, not a privilege and It sickens me to imagine never having a single moment to yourself. Imagine you are in a distressing situation and all you want is to be comforted by your own parents, your carers who are supposed to love you unconditionally, and that moment gets shared with everyone and anyone. I hate it so much and it needs to stop.

I agree, yt had some channel called asmrlimastar show in my feed with nothing but bad “pranks” and multiple staged /fake cringey social media stunts. The kids look like they’re growing up used to having cameras in their faces all day, and I can only imagine how they will be when they grow up. It’s All garbage.
If I could get rid of any kind of channel on RUclips I would get rid of all family channels.
Well, family channels that all have decided to do that with children grown up and can consent I don't think they are. But that's way too rarely the case huh.

Note to self: never make a RUclips family channel without asking your children first. If they don’t mind, that’s fine, but don’t force them to do things.
I’m surprised you didn’t talk about fathering autism. They exploit their autistic daughter by filming her and uploading an episode almost every day, talking about her like she’s not there, filming her during vulnerable moments that no one would want filmed of them if it happened to them (including filming her on the toilet), and siccing their fans on anybody who criticizes them, to the point of death threats. She can’t speak, so they don’t allow her to stand up for herself using other means of communication. She has an iPad to communicate, but you suspiciously never see her say “no filming”. Just because someone can’t talk doesn’t mean they deserve to be paraded around like a pet. Oh on top of that, they make her hug strangers when they go to conventions, so she’s not allowed to have boundaries either.
I really do not think that the Parents of the Autistic young Adult are meaning to exploit her. I think they are using their experience to encourage others in the same boat.
That being said, only GOD knows their heart and their intentions.
As the Mother of a 32 year old man with Autism, I’ve not seen anything shocking on their channel, although I didn’t see a video of her on the toilet. Surprised that was even allowed to be put up. Sometimes, parents over share, and if they did, calling them out is appropriate.
I learned a lot about some things I’d not dealt with yet, with my Son, like Guardianship, etc. I learned about the separate attorneys and the process, etc. I have always gotten the impression that their channel was for educational purpose and sharing their sweet daughter.
It’s true, because there are so many sick individuals in this world, they must be more careful (all of these family channels) & use their brains about what is safe and what is not!
@@Gizmo72710 I’ve seen many of their videos. They are extremely forceful with her and do not give her any agency of her own. They also act very entitled, as I mentioned that they sicc their fans on anybody who criticizes them, as I’ve seen people get threatened before. They record EVERY DAY. This poor girl doesn’t get any peace and quiet just because she’s autistic. There are also much better alternatives to guardianship, like assisted decision making

The fake break-up video angers me to no end. As a daughter of a mother who has fought my father several times in front of me and my sister it's nothing to freaking joke about. I started becoming over paranoid over the smallest stuff, because I'd worry that big disasters would happen. The smallest things like disagreements caused me (and sometimes they still do) to go into this panic mode inside, thinking that "oh its going to get into a fight" or "maybe so and so hates me because I accidentally did this". Like, how desensitized are you do that to your kids!?

The Prince family video reminds me of the times when my parents would get into a huge fight in front of my twin sister and I. My mom would make us pack our stuff and we would leave with her to go to our grandmothers place 2 hours away. Half way there my dad would call her and beg her to come back. We would turn around and go home. Just one of the many traumatic memories of my parents fighting. Even if it’s not physical it’s still abuse.

One of the other awful things DaddyOFive did with his kids was influencing his older children to also "get in on the pranks" (abuse) on Cody and Emma. I cannot imagine the long lasting effects on them, especially the guilt. They might wonder how they could've done such things/blame themselves, even though it was all under the parents control.
I seriously hope the older boys got a glimpse of their potential futures and got themselves sorted, because they were being trained daily on how to be domestic abusers -- ignore anyone telling you "no, I don't like that" and the distress of others is "funny."

Thank you for covering this issue. As a mom i could not ever imagine using my kids for Likes. I did not post my kids photos on any site because i knew there was always creepers online. It puts children in harms way.

Ruby admitted to kicking kids with boots on, submerging them in water and cutting off their oxygen supply by covering their nose and mouth. Jodi’s plea admitted to throwing a kid into a cactus more than once. Pretty horrifying stuff. It’s a miracle none of these children were killed.

My heart breaks for every child on a Family Channel. Their "parents" gave them no choice but to be a part of the channel from pretty much conception and they have no true privacy. Their digital footprints are ruined and the kids are gonna have to fight tooth and nail to get a fraction of the money that their "parents" made off of their backs. What money they get is gonna have to be used for YEARS of therapy, if they even make it to therapy. The Curse of the Child Star is still a Thing and Family Channel kids don't even have what little protections Hollywood kids have. It's just so disgusting and sad. If RUclips demonetized the channels or forced the "parents" to put at least 90% of the adsense money in a Trust for the kids, I'm sure that Family Channels would go the way of the dinosaur almost overnight.

DaddyOFive's controversy and the existence of family vlog channels serves as a valuable lesson that everyone deserves some privacy for a good reason. Imagine being a kid and you're getting uncomfortable with your parents filming what you're doing and shared it for millions of people to see. That is some Truman Show level of insanity right here.
The fact that DaddyOFive still has a fanbase to this day after everything Mike and Heather have done is just baffling in so many levels, but it's safe to say that Cody and Emma are happily living with their biological mom in peace.

A family member of mine has the same condition as Cody, (ODD) and I couldn’t imagine treating them that way. It’s so disgusting, what that poor kid had to go through was horrific.

I had a situation like this, when my mother also threatened to send me to an orphanage, she also pretended to call someone to take me away, I had a hysteria, I begged her not to send me anywhere, it turns out that she did so in order to I behaved well. I was 5 or 6 years old then, now I'm 18, it was very traumatic. The worst thing in this situation is that she still doesn't understand that she did something bad. I wouldn't say that she and I are on bad terms, but I don't trust her. By the way, I really like your content, keep it up❤

I have a few vivid memories in childhood...one when i got a rabbit for my birthday. I remember it was dark outside as it was October . I remember the smell of the rabbit food and my mother put hot water into the food grainy. I remember following her down the back stair case into the yard where in the late 1970's our toilet was in a out house. Then linked to this memory moreor less straight away my mother gave it back or 'free to a good home' i was so devastated over my loss of this gift that i naively plagiarized and partially adapted a poem called my dead rabbit, i fantasised and told people that the rabbit had died rather
than the truth. Traumatised so much by this emotional sadness that it played on my mind even until today. I once was left at 5 years old for a few minutes while my mother went to a shop on the corner of our street, i investigted a shower that my dad had installed while she was out and I got soaking wet as i turned it on and the shower head fell down. Being alone just for 5 minutes I was distressed as I thought my mother would never return. Then later when dad was leaving the house down the front stairs i was hysterically crying "please daddy don't go" But my mother wanted him out and demanded a divorce. That was also just after my baby brother was born, I was 5 and after my brothers birth my dad demanded i run to the downstairs flat and get my uncle to " call the doctor " my mother was then sectioned and for maybe about 3 months I lived with my dads brother and his wife. I idolised my aunty and following my mothers return home I became in my moms eyes "a dirty little bastard just like your dad!" So mothers hate towards my dad was due to his lack of support towards her postnatal depression . She endured electric convulsive therapy in the few month she was institutionalised. In over heard conversations i heard it was puerpal psychosis the worst form of postnatal depression. I was very damaged by words as a child. Children are like sponges and they absorb everything so they need to be treated with tender loving care. I what they are exposed to. Television, sounds other peoples discussions and especially arguments. Children can still hear things while they are supposed to be in their room asleep or playing.
Treat all children with the utmost care and as much patience and love that exists. Amen x

For birthdays though the recording often is used as a memory of that important day. I for one have recorded my family and friends' birthdays as a memory to look back and remember.

The only acceptable family channels are literally just Ryan Toys Review and FGTeeV for me, considering those are the only family channels that let their kids choose their own path and have fun.

When I first stated my YT channel I said NO to my children being on RUclips. My son’s father wanted our child to be a RUclips child star. He and I split up because of this. I’m glad it happened, because I was never going to exploit my children for money. I think these YT family channels don’t even consider there are REALLY sick and twisted people online, whom of which shouldn’t be looking at our children! This is so disgusting that parents wouldn’t be more protective over their own children!!!! It’s sick!

They purchased a 15 million dollar home in my hometown and the media posted the suburb location along with real estate photos of the home. It took a good 2 minutes for me to figure out the address. 2 minutes. Imagine what stalkers might do with this information. Insanity.

When I was a kid I had a breakdown over my mom trying to film my reaction to finding out we were going to Disney for my grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary. It was just for family (who were also going) to see. But I locked myself in my closet and started crying. I just wasn’t good at handling my emotions and it was all overwhelming me. My parents immediately stopped, calmed me down, and deleted the video. We had a good convo about it and nothing like that ever happened again. I was like 6 or 7. I can’t imagine what growing up with my entire life online would have done to me
