Not just the devices. Start treating your kids as kids and discipline them more. No means no. Rudeness gets a timeout. Disrespect gets you a spanking. Worked for hundreds of years before and this is what you get when you take it away.

@@MisF1998 No we haven't been doing it since the beginning of time. Only when civilization starts falling apart. When Socrates first said that about about how kids had bad manners, contempt for authority and showed disrespect for elders, do you know what happened afterwards? The fall of the Athenian Empire. Greece was never the same again after that and a far cry from the days of Alexander the Great. Roman historian Ammianus Marcellinus said something on the same lines as the Roman Empire fell apart... So when old boomers are complaining about the youth of today we as a whole of Western Civilization should stop and pay attention, cause the pattern fits repeatedly that of John Calhoun's Universe 25 (Mouse Utopia), where degeneracy in society comes right before society collapse...

  • @1_BhS
    @1_BhS День назад +25

My mother has been an elementary teacher for the past 30 or so years. Up until recently, she has never had issues with her students, but now her students are more and more rude. They talk rudely to her, they ignore her completely and disregard her instructions. They physically hurt her, and never do any work assigned to them. The craziest thing is that she is not able to punish them at all, and must also accept any assignments at full credit, regardless of it being completed or not. The parents of these kids need to do something, and the school system must as well. They are able to behave as if they own the world, and get to do whatever they want. There is no sense of discipline in them, and there won't ever be unless someone stands up to them and lets them be sad and face difficult situations.

Everyone else had one way before me. When I was a kid, I’d play with my monster truck toys, the Wii, LEGO, and play outside. Now kids look at their phones or tablets for 8 hours a day and cry over nothing. If I was bad, I got spanked, I got punished, not nowadays though. Thats why I say people now speak “Brain Rot from TikTok”. Great video man!

Watch educational stuff on RUclips. Respect your elders, a lot of the times they’re trying to teach you things. Also go outside. Summer is just starting, ride a bike around, go camping, swim, etc. The internet is fine, but keep it as a tool and not your whole life. Enjoy being a kid, it won’t last forever. I’m not much older than you but a lot of those things helped me have a good childhood. Remember to have fun.

The main problem is addiction. What's worrying is the tantrums and breakdowns they have when you take these things from them, even for a bit. In the past, kids used to be somewhat calm, and some even used to fake cries or breakdowns to get what they wanted. But now they're having actual complete breakdowns just by getting their phones taken away. Their phones are their worlds.

Even tho i think over here in Germany and Europe in general it's not as bad as in the USA, because the people and how they think are just way different and because of that, many children here actually go out to play instead of beeing indoors on their iPads all day.
A major factor which impacts this here is that when you perform really poorly in school and are not on a level deemed able to progress to the next class, you get held back and have to repeat that class. And if you should fail this class again you get put into a class where the emphasis lies on teaching children on a extremly basic level.
So that way these really stupid Gen Alpha children have to repeat classes instead of beeing dragged along and staying stupid their entire school life.

As an older version of gen alpha, almost going to 8th this year, 11:09 SHOOK ME. HOW???? HOW COULD THAT KID NOT KNOW THAT? That’s straight up insane, not to mention I DESPISE skibidi toilet. The screen time for me is just like 1-2 hours and despite that I am still doing good in other things such as studies like being a straight A student. Oh we are so doomed. And misbehaving? Most students in my school of gen alpha are well behaved and disciplined yet there are a few in my class talking back even to the vice principal who can literally kick them out of the school. AND chat gpt, oh how horrible it is. Writing an essay by ourselves shows how much knowledge we have and is WAY better than just not knowing what the topic is even about. Mainly this affect is striking America sadly because here in my area kids are not that insane, mainly it’s just a lil bit of discipline but overall it’s fine, but they should really start using common sense and discipline their kids one way or another, give time to them and watch out for any little imperfections because it might cause the future to get more corrupt and out of hand and this is not a little thing. AND SEPHORA KID OMGAH BRO what is the need for so expensive stuff at SUCH A YOUNG AGE?? It doesn’t make sense. Ridiculous. All they need is just water, soap, and lotion if their skin is dry otherwise is mainly PERFECT they don’t need a single drop of it. I don’t even have a skin care routine and them having literal SKIN OILS I have NEVER heard of is just- wow, not in a good way. If they were older like more in late teens or adults it makes sense why they would have it. AND THE STANLEY CUP WTH DO U NEED THAT FOR?? It’s a WATER BOTTLE. Yet the end of the video makes so much sense. We should make the internet a way better place since it DOES have a huge benefit.
Holy- that’s a long paragraph but pretty reasonable in my eyes.

This genuinely scares me. I encourage her to do other things, like read books, play and stimulate her imagination, things that a child should really do, and little by little, it's working.
The best tip I can give is: Don't abruptly take iPads out of your children's hands. This will only stress them out. Try to encourage them to play, pay attention to them. This is what Gen Alpha needs. And please keep an eye on what your children are seeing.

I’m genuinely wondering something: I am currently almost a senior in high school, I’m 17, born in 2006. While I was partially raised by TV and the internet (although I still played with toys and went outside) and have diagnosed ADHD and other mental disorders, I have read on a college level since I was 12 and have excelled in English my whole life, I have always done really well in school, I am skilled in many arts and trades, I have a high IQ, I have a detailed knowledge of history and can tell you in detail about World War 2 and the history of art and film, I am skilled in media literacy, I’m a media collector (DVDs, VHS, CDs, etc.), I’m learning music, and I have basic knowledge in speaking Haitian Creole, German (my primary language of study), Klingon, and Spanish. Now, I am not saying this to flex, because I genuinely do wonder how, as someone who was, again, partially raised by the internet and TV, and did not as much guidance as others, and as someone with ADHD and other neurological disorders, I wonder how I manage to excel better than some of my peers. Do I feel superior to those who don’t excel as well as me? No, because I genuinely do wonder what it is that has happened to me or what I have done to make it so I have excelled better than others. To put it into more perspective, my ADHD would occasionally become a road block, so much so I would occasionally cry in the bathroom out of stress because sometimes struggle to read due to my jumbles of thoughts, and I struggle staying still and will often leave class just to walk around the hallways. I do genuinely wonder what it is that’s so different with me that, despite everything, I’m considered gifted and a few notches below being a genius?
Edit: Coming back to this, it might just be because I likely have Asperger’s/ASD and/or OCD. :P

Im also part of gen alpha and I am at 8th grade to 9th grade and I feel bad for your 9 yr old brother. He might be doomed but it is not too late. I reccomend helping him if possible or as hard as you can and to try to set examples or show to your parents to make them eventually realize the situation.
      Example:
      1. Show his grades
      2. When he keeps throwing tantrums set it as an example for them to realize that he has been given everything at birth without supervision realizing that is why he keeps doing it
      3. What could happen to him in the future
      4. Show them his watching history

I started by playing games like rec room where I didn't need to be there and I could leave whenever I wanted and then moved up to like making plans with friends and just trying to be more outgoing. Just be patient with yourself, also I know what you mean there's nowhere to really go to meet new people except online. It sounds like the plot of a dystopian horror movie, but that's what's happening right now.

Turning 18 this summer I first played on a computer with my father around 7 years of age and Iam pretty normal. I think it is lot about how your parents handle this stuff. Like I was not able to play all days long but I had a device pretty early and I had great time playing with my dad.

I live next a park. It's literally in front of my house and it used to be extremely frequented less than a decade ago. There were even zones of the park without grass on the ground due to all the kids that used to sit on the bench, or just play football and used two trees as a football goal. I've noticed that there is no one left, even if Ik there are still kids in my town, and by walking in the park I've noticed that the traces of our old interaction on the ground were not there. Grass grew again and that made me very sad.
Newborn kids don't even know what touching the grass or dirt really is.

My little niece is Gen Alpha, when I took her iPad she let all hell break loose. I corrected her behavior to the fact my sister wanted me to teach her how to raise her own children, it's sad how an adult who was raised in a later generation asks a young kid how to take care of another.

What you said reminds me of what I seen a few months ago. I was at the doctor waiting on medication and I was sat in the waiting room. A mother with her two kids came in, two girls one must've been 7, the other maybe 5. Anyways the oldest of them was screaming for her IPad while the youngest was just running around the waiting room having a good time. So I was in this waiting room for an hour and for 30mins straight the eldest wouldn't stfu screaming a tantrum so her mother got her IPad from the car and she fell silent. Absolutely horrifying to witness, it made me feel sick that one day these kids are gonna be grown up one day and when they are Gen Z, Gen Alpha are gonna be what kills humanity as we know it.

As a former meth addict and sober for 3 years now. I want to say, these are all the signs of addiction. The materialism, the attention spans, the zombification, everything. These kids will grow up treating their friends and family like things instead of human beings. They'll leech off of people to get what they want and take advantage. As long as you have the stuff, they'll stick around. If you don't, then its goodbye. The zombification is the high feeling. You're either super energetic and wild, or so mellow you have no idea what else is going on around you. Addicted to material things is like meth, you're excited and you can't stop, you're relaxed though it gets you doing things 24/7 for an entire week with no sleep to a point where it effects your life negatively. The ipads is like hero!n, you're entranced and asleep. The attention spans and even can lead to short term memory and forgetfulness, is the outcome of doing too much. It's the exact same, and when you throw these kids out on the street, they'll be very easy consumer targets for drug cartels and dealers, because they already have the mentality. You would need to restrict the entire internet until the person is like 16-21. That's only way you get kids to stop. Maybe even more parenting classes made for people, and maybe even government funded which then we'll definitely be getting closer to how Japan is with their whole government funded social events just to get people to frikin breed. Btw, its a real thing. I seen two customers today at work with kids and ipads. It had like a literal purple handle on top, and purple frame, fit for a kid. And one kid looked like she was dressed like a literal w*re. A pound of makeup, and was ordering food for her mom. And of course her pink ipad. She looked like a Patrice Wilson victim. Oh and btw, F* Apple..

And today's economy is responsible for most of that, which sucks. Parents both need to work, maternity leaves are short and paternity leaves are rare (and neither are guaranteed!), it's hard to afford living so ya gotta work hard, people are stressed and tired and don't have the bandwith left at the end of the day to do much with their kids. Not to mention socializing with other kids doesn't happen when you live in a concrete jungle and anyone letting their kids outside alone can get CPS called on them. It all sucks.

It's funny because it's not just Generation Alpha. Every older person I know is obsessed with their phone and social media as well, but no one can put limits on adults in the same way. If you were to take the phone away from 90% of adult users they would throw a fit too and these kids can't even regulate their emotions. The stigma this generation gets BECAUSE OF OTHER GENERATIONS TEACHINGS is wild to me. We all need to do better.
