Having a lot of experience with a DC M134. It is like using a garden hose but instead of water it is a stream of bullets. My favorite scene with a mini is in the Matrix. The slow motion shot from under the Huey, the blade slowly goes by while the casings and links are pouring out of the feeder-delinker. It is so realistic as to how fast they devour rounds. Those beautiful things roar like a dragon and they also breathe fire.
Definitely, it is a bad ass gun , check out my new tracer video, you won’t be disappointed, there is a part 1 as well ,ruclips.net/video/JQTJfbsBStc/видео.html
In Vietnam, the fuel truck convoys had no protection so some of them built custom trucks out of 5 tons and anti aircraft weapons. Like you say, they "roar like a dragon and breathe fire", the Viet Cong called them the "breath of the dragon". The gun trucks were painted in loud colors so the Viet Cong would know what was up and they wouldn't attack the convoy.
I was a UH -1 Huey pilot in Vietnam. With the 48th assault helicopter squad, “The Blue Stars” our dog owners had 50 and 60 caliber machine guns only. The slicks the cobras and some of the loaches had these. A slick is a modified UH 1 With a mini gun and a rocket pod on both sides plus a door gunner with his 50 or 60 Cal. The mini gun was incredibly effective but it ate a ton of ammo and if you were in a heavy shit storm I understand just like the 50 and 60 caliber the barrel has to be changed periodically. I believe it takes about 30 seconds to change those rotary barrels. The tremendous heat from the tracers for an extended period of time eventually takes away some of the accuracy but when we used anything we were up close and it really didn’t matter about accuracy from a distance. another thing about the mini gun is whatever ship they were going to put them on how to be reinforced because of the vibration. I went back to Vietnam with my unit all six of us who are still living, and we found that the North Vietnamese army had dug ant tunnels forover200 incredible miles! Complete with hospital and storage facilities you name it. Absolutely incredible that they were subterranean enemies and we could not find them once we engaged because suddenly they would be seen and we would make contact, and after so much time they would vanish! And later we found out why. Many of these tunnels were begun under the French occupation and by the time we got there in 65 they were already established from Saigon all the way up to the DMZ. Some of them had electricity! A foolproof ventilation system and escape hatches. How in the hell did you end up with mini guns? I am absolutely stunned to see these in the hands of civilians.
"How in the hell did you end up with mini guns?" Here are the applicable laws for PRIVATE OWNERSHIP as I understand them. 1. Must be legal in your state. 2. Must have been made before 1986 per the Firearm Owners Protection Act (FOPA). 3. Must obtain ATF Approval. The way to get them with no federal restrictions is to get a Federal Firearms License (FFL).
Two tours in Vietnam, and never saw a slick with a mini gun and/or rockets. Never. The term " slick " refers to a helicopter with no external armament-only two door guns. ( M 60s )

Back in 72 I was in Ft Hood with the 2nd Amored, 60th ADA. This was an experimental unit and we had a 20mm gatlin gun mounted on an APC. it fired 3000 rpm and was total terror, ever round was a tracer. It would be nice to see and hear that again
I read the history of this gun. They said it was possible for this thing to run 10,000 rounds a minute. But they lowered the cyclic rate because it would be impossible for most vehicles to supply ammunition at that rate, especially choppers.
Considering how the mechanism works the only 'free motion' in it is when the firing pin roller falls off the guide to impact the round. As long as it lights off the round before the breach unlocks, and even then I imagine itd still be mostly okay other than the excess powder residue build up, your only limitation is how quickly the spring can drive the pin into the primer. Everything else is directly mechanically coupled to the motor.
I've shot both. The MG42 was cool, but the M-134 was in a league of it's own. The volcanic eruption of sound and fire (I did it on an indoor range) was indescribable. It did have a tendency to walk to the left, so I put some grunt into it to keep the M2 red dot on the right of the target. I ended up being right on target. What a fantastic machine. Thanks for your video.

When I was in the Army (79-83) I watched a live fire of a Vulcan 20mm AA gun. It had a 500 round ammo can. The gun ran through all 500 rounds before the first shell casing hit the ground.
He was using plastic training bullets the whole video, that's why the casings were blue. Real bullets fired from this thing have brass casings and jacketed copper points. These casings are blue, and have rounded blue points. Real ones would be too expensive for a civilian to shoot regularly, so the training ones are a much better alternative. They are also probably more fun to shoot, as they have much less recoil.
Are you firing that off the hip at 3000 rpm’s? Cause that’s beastly, from everything I’ve found and read online Jesse’s from Predator was dialed down to 1000 rpm’s and he said you just gritted your teeth and held on cause it was like firing a chainsaw. And the tracers are sick, looks like you’re firing something out of Star Wars. Absolutely sick, cool vid.
It was full rpm , but I was shooting plastic bullets through it to be safer ! Check out my other videos, The Ultimate Gun Room, 8m60s vs Bigfoot Army! And more of them , you will not be disappointed
But in Predator and in T2, they're holding the gun. Its heavy and they'd have to deal with the recoil. It's movies so no word on where the car battery is haha. Mounted is probably the way to go. What does a large car battery weigh, 60 lbs? And he said it takes TWO car batteries! that only works for people too busy/ain't got time to bleed and for cybernetic organisms shooting at a bunch of LEOs to scare them off. It worked!
@@burtan2000 doesn't need a car battery. A tiny Li-po battery would supply more than enough power and energy to spin up those barrels long after you've run out of ammo.

Dude you are a Rock Star your videos are so much fun to watch 👊🏽 this is the Best M-34 Machine Gun Video it’s Totally Awesome

That’s crazy the volume of brass that’s coming out. How much does it cost a second to fire? Awesome video brother.
My sentiments exactly what in the world does it cost to run those guns holy cow
When I was in the Army (79-83) I watched a live fire of a Vulcan 20mm AA gun. It had a 500 round ammo can. The gun ran through all 500 rounds before the first shell casing hit the ground.
He was using plastic training bullets the whole video, that's why the casings were blue. Real bullets fired from this thing have brass casings and jacketed copper points. These casings are blue, and have rounded blue points. Real ones would be too expensive for a civilian to shoot regularly, so the training ones are a much better alternative. They are also probably more fun to shoot, as they have much less recoil.
You’re doing the Lord’s work, brother. Best firearm channel on the internet, period.

At 3000 rounds per minute the barrels rotate at 500rpm and at maximum 6000 rounds per minutes it rotates at 1000rpm.
@@Barkley1835 rpm here shorthand is rounds per minute not rotations per minute of the barrel(s)
(9:50) It's neat watching the Barrels turn when firing but it's so much better when you see the bullets actually tear through something.😎👍

Hello! Great video! Could you please bring out it on a long range? Something like 500+ yards. There is currently no detailed videos about MG shooting on long ranges, and i'm really, *really* interested how area suppression, effect on targets and spreading would work at that kind of ling range with a minigun! It would be great if you could set up a camera nearby the target so we can hear how it sounds to be under a minigun barrage! Those continuous bullet cracks must be thunderous...
I will make one for you in the next few months
