I made 50+ orders on cardmarket from random strangers and have not once been disappointed. If you value trust and integrity, big corporations are not the place to go.

Imagine the scammer that tries to get on the scam train and orders boxes on Amazon only to receive already picked boxes 😂

People should also understand, the return policy is for things you change your mind about. These boxes fall under a different category, such as defective, tampered with, not as advertised (used, opened vs. new), and are due a replacement or refund, legally speaking. It may be a long process, but it is likely the only way to get them to fix this issue.

Perfect timing! I was literally considering ordering a couple of boxes of MTG cards from Amazon this weekend. I guess I'm going to make a trip into town instead. Thanks for posting!

What a nice thing of the seller to pre cut the boosters for you.... Really careful and loving of him to think of the elderly not being able to open a entirely closed pack :)

This is the BEST THING to happen for LGS in awhile.

On the other hand I'm pretty sure some local stores also do shady stuff, for instance I remember some issues with local stores using scales to remove high rarity yugioh cards from booster box before selling the booster piece by piece (yugioh rares are all foil, the added foil layer increase weight so you can identify the boosters with rare cards without having to open or tamper with them). Heck they usually had multiple boxes and if you bought a lot of boosters they would actually take 1 from "rare" box so you wouldn't be suspicious because you had 10 boosters without any rare cards.

Plot twist: lgs purchase the boxes from Amazon and pull all the $$$ cards and resealed them and returned them so that they’ll cause a chain effect in where lgs can get better business due to the “scams” happening on Amazon. They get both the expensive singles and the customer too

That's just outrageous. One of those collector boxes is a month's wages around here. Amazon doesn't even have the best prices for Magic products in Brazil, and then you have the added risk?

This is a common issue when buying electronics from Amazon as well. People buy items that match a broken item they have and swap the innards, or sometimes just the serial number sticker or sometimes be real lazy about it and just throw the broken one in the box and return it.

what wotc should really do is allow your to order straight from them to keep all things fair. Even local game stores have been known to tamper with their stock. I open my packs meticulously, inspecting every detail to check for evidence of foul play. Id like to just be able to enjoy the pack opening without wondering if theyve been glued or reheat sealed.

This happened to me with a commander deck at Target last year. I was able to return it but I vowed to never again buy MtG from big box stores. I don’t really buy Magic any more so it isn’t an issue.

they should really add that seal strip tape thingy that some medication&electronics use that literally destroys the box/plastic seal and says ”void” or ”open”

As a former associate that deals with Amazon returns I can tell you for a fact that I'm less the person handling the returns and inspecting them to see why they were returned is trained to know what to look for they'll just pass it along and generally we'll say it's fine to get sent back out. This is a little much I don't know how that slipped through the cracks. But I have rejected magic the gathering cards for returns in the past because I have caught boxes that were opened up. Not everybody working in their inventory department is like me and plays magic and knows what to look for so you really do take a gamble when buying from them

Yes, he also mentioned “talked to the customer service and can’t get a hold of seller…”. Buy from Amazon and from Amazon as a seller, not 3rd party. Though everything is a risk when it comes to trading cards.

my heart breaks when you showed me that there's people out there with intention to print WOTC shrink wraps to help scammers get their money from hardworking people.
