They do sound really similar in some ways, but not so much in others. He did a really good cover of this one. With Disturbed doing some ballads and acoustic stuff on their last album, I wonder if they'll ever do an acoustic album where they go back and cover some of their older stuff as an acoustic track.
There is similarities in their voices, but they are definitely not the same. Both are beautiful though!

Breathtaking work! I was in the middle of watching a video interview with David where he mentioned this cover and I immediately had to pause it and come search for this.
Holy hell. I have been a Disturbed One since 2000, loved every song they've produced, and heard many people cover their work. I can say, with 100% cogency and certainty, that this is the first time I have EVER heard an alternative version of a Disturbed song that I enjoyed more than the original. I would pay distressingly gratuitous amounts of money to see you perform with David, or simply perform in general. I pray this comment finds you, Mr. Draiman. Please keep up the exemplary work!

Im a huge disturbed fan ,but now also a huge Ben Dramain fan. I work with music to and i love rock but also the symphonic building of a song. U really made me feel this song. Thanks for a terrific cover.

Àmazing....I would give my right arm to hear you and David together. You did for Stricken which is one of my favorite Disturbed songs what David did for Sound of Silence. Respect for the original while giving a different approach. Greek cantors like hazans tend to run in families.

As much as I like the original, I've been looking forever for a version of this song that truly brings out the emotion in the lyrics and lo and behold it's David Draiman's brother of all people that has the version I wanted. This deserves way more views than it has.

Astounding, until tonight i wasn't aware that David had a younger brother, much less one that would complete the essence of his music in such a way, you two are like two sides of a coin. I never imagined anyone could make the original version of this song better but the passion you sing with and the same pain and emotion in your words as it is with David means that you have truly made this song even more of a masterpiece. Inspirational work keep it up Ben.
My late wife Lissa came to know Ben via social media and by mail. She subscribed to his channel, bought his music on cd, shared the heck outta his music and really enjoyed their friendship. She even shared some of her own original songs and he gave her praise which she adored. sadly, she died in her sleep in 2016 at the age of 32. Ben sent us a sweet, honest message to let us know he appreciated her support of his music and would miss her. I keep his music on my play list and have an envelope signed by him to Lissa on the wall in my home ever since. Ben, if you read this, you are truly awesome.

I'm sincerely floored and on the verge of tears with the intricacies of the orchestration and that voice, which after hearing you now I can only assume is a family trait, so warm and moving. Stricken is easily one of my favorite songs of all time. And easily my favorite by Disturbed. I have a connection to it that runs through my very abilities as a guitarist. TO hear it in such a different light, so emotive and heavy even without the distortion and David's harsh vocals that i love so. This is a wonderful thing Ben, you're an extremely talented man, thank you for uploading this, it's incredible.

This is simply a spine-tingling version of this song. I can play this along with the original, one after the other, and it is like two different meanings with the same words. Disturbed's version is the rage of betrayal and yours is the pain of betrayal. I am truly a fan of both versions.
In the best way possible, this sounds like the Orchestral Trailer version of Stricken, the way it slowly builds tension.

I Always loved this song by disturbed but after hearing this cover it truly opened up a completely different meaning to me. I absolutely love this cover and If I were an older brother and heard my younger sibling do this to a song I had written, I'd be in tears after hearing my little brothers gorgeous rendition.
